Yes, I taught children all my life---and taught those in tough and impoverished neighborhoods--doing what I could both during school and after school for them. It was a wonderful life. Though I love mothers, too, I really couldn't have done all this if I had my own to care for as well.

Secondly, Kamala Harris was shocked when she read about her lawyers keeping non-violent prisoners from California's overcrowded prisons in jail because the state wanted to keep them as a labor force. She looked into it and directed the department's attorneys not to make that argument again.
