- Daniil Trifonov received the OPUS Klassik Award for 'Instrumentalist of the Year'.
In the ceremony of OPUS Klassik, Daniil Trifonov played the Bach's famous 'Jesus bleibet meine Freude' (Arr. Hess). “Bach is of course a legend, an icon, a musical brand,” says Trifonov. “History sets him, like many geniuses, on a pedestal - untouchable and unmoving, like a sculpture.” He continues: “We know Bach was a pious man, and that he worked very hard. Yet we also know that Bach was a family man, and that he fell in love (more than once); his music tells us he had a sense of humour, a sense of melancholy, and a sense of pride. He knew how to have fun. There are many indications of a real, personal biography to a composer whose creativity was fired by a passionate soul.”

I have to say, I have been listening to Daniil for many (10+) years, this is the most emotionally charged piece of music that I have ever heard him play. It's simply wonderful, beyond compare!
Brings me closer to God.
How can something so simple be so beautiful, astonishing.
lol my boy must be talking about another arrangement. This piece is masterfully arranged, it is not simple at all nor easy to play, on the contrary. And this interpretation towers over all others.
He makes it sound simple because he's a master. It's not simple at all.
What a gift his playing is to all of us. Just stunning.
Daniil lightens up the dark
Bach must send a smile from above for this outstanding beautiful interpretation. Alone the tempo is already so touching…….

I still go back and watch Daniil's live broadcast of the Rubinstein and Tchaikovsky International piano competition,
he was very young at that time, he didn't have long hair or beard, he looked very comfortable !

One of the most beautiful renditions i heard of one beautiful cantata featuring 3 or 4 clearly defined melody lines.
Возвращаюсь к этому звучанию вновь и вновь. Когда ангела услышать хочется. Бах его голосом яснее многих говорит, но Трифонов... Он нездешний, неземной.
Молодёжь уже наступает на пятки! Послушайте это же произведение в исполнении Александры Довгань! По-моему, именно её исполнение просто что-то невероятное! Спокойствие, смирение, чистота... Вобщем, сравните! Во всяком случае это все большие мастера!
@@Tata-Sibiryatschka это Вы наступаете на пятки . Трифонова спокойно можно гением называть,уж точно одним из великих. Трифонов гораздо старше и явно больше в жизни пережил ,чем Довгань. Как же вы любите все пиарить всяких и так уже распиаренных Довгань, Бессоновых и прочих ,сравнивая их с мастерами вроде Плетнёва, Соколова и Трифонова. Это как минимум глупо делать.

It's beautiful at this speed, all the parts stand out, I've never enjoyed a performance of this piece so much as this one.
For me it is also a little bit slowly played. But it also works this way.

My issue with Trifonov’s performance of this piano transcription is simply that he sounds plodding and dull. He is a great pianist, just not here.
Remember, during his lifetime Bach was better known as a virtuoso keyboard player (organ and harpsichord primarily) than as a composer. He was fully capable of playing at dazzling tempos, when the music called for it.
And research over the last 75 years or so suggests that Baroque music was played at lively tempos. That’s a vast topic, but worth investigating if you’re curious. 😎🎹

Der Opus Classic wurde am Fernsehen übertragen und ich habe es gespeichert auf DVD, dann ist es fast so, als wäre ich auch dort.
Das Brahms Konzert 1 in Verbier 22 gefällt mir sehr gut. Habe dort auch einen Kommentar geschrieben.
Aber es geht mir wie Dir, das früher mit Zubin Metha ,diesem begnadeten Maestro, ziehe ich ebenfalls vor.
Ich freue mich über die Shortys von Daniil Trifonov Fan. Er hat etwa 12 auf seiner Liste. Heute kam seine Ankündigung dass er sich bemüht das Gershwin Konzert ( Carnegie Hall) für uns zu bekommen! Wäre auf meiner Wunschliste ganz oben ! 🥰♥️

Un tempo la deutsche grammophon se la batteva con case discografiche di un certo prestigio... ora che ha il monopolio e non ha concorrenza ,gli stimoli di aggiudicarsi le esecuzioni più memorabili alle quali tutti gli ascoltatori di musica classica ambivano ,AHIMÉ, sono finiti!
Queste registrazioni ne sono il risultato: senza anima,di poco buon gusto e decadente.
