- Hurricane Ian continues to move through the Caribbean on its way to the Gulf of Mexico. On its current track, Ian is expected to have an impact on the Gulf Coast, specifically Florida, this week.
Hurricane conditions are expected in the Cayman Islands Monday and across Western Cuba by Tuesday morning.
There are Tropical Storm and Hurricane Watches in effect for the west coast of Florida. More watches may be issued soon. Hurricane Warnings and Tropical Storm Warnings are also up for Cuba. Read more: www.khou.com/article/weather/...

Years ago a weatherman on TV was VISIBLY disappointed when the storm track showed a hurricane was going to continue into northern Mexico instead up swinging further up to the Texas gulf coast.

Complaints of it's not that big (the forecast shows it a growing very quickly to a Cat 4 which is definitely dangerous and big, which is a clue they did not watch the video!) tells me they are also not preparing, so if you are in Florida - go do your preparations today if possible!

Bold words from someone who Doesn’t have a doctorate degree in meteorology. There are 4 things affecting this storm and one of them is virtually unpredictable. The cold front coming down can change at any point and that will dictate the track. Difference between GFS and EURO are almost solely based on that wave.

These guys are pretty spot on as far as the most likely outcome goes. Can definitely change and in my opinion I feel further west is a safe bet. I’m no meteorologist but I follow about 20 non commercial meteorologist. Some self taught and some with many many years of school. Reed is the one I follow most closely as he has years of experience in the field and quite a lot of schooling. Very good judgment as well. I take in every bit of info I can and compare it with my own conclusions. That’s really how predicting weather works. And definitely no jabs here bud. Besides the one I gave your mom.
