You may be a little disappointed with a few things and slugs have clearly been a problem for everyone this year but your abundance shines throught on each and every video. Thanks for sharing your growing journey - it gives me something to aim for!

Your garden always amazes me, it always full of crops. Slugs have been driving me insane this year. I went away and the caterpillars had a fill day. Ooops
yeah, I had to invoke emergency measures with caterpillars today too and slugs ate a lot of my new lettuces : All the best - Steve

its called fasciitus ( I think) some courgettes did it this year for me.... faulty meristem activity due to physical or microbial damage would be my guess....
Hi from Down Under. I’ve never seen cabbages growing tall on long stems like that before, how do you get them to do that?
Sow them in autumn and over winter them, they grow a long stem as they are drawn up by the low light levels in late winter and early spring : All the best - Steve
Hi Steve, do u give your strawberry plants a feed once they have finished fruiting if your are taking runners off the plants?
I do, although I'm not taking runners this year, so I just topped them and then gave them a feed to help they grow back strong : All the best - Steve

Your weird stem is a mutation called fasciation. There are several possible causes.
Hi Steve, everything is looking tidy and productive. That weird growth on your oca is called fasciation. It can have a multitude of causes, from genetic to infection. Shouldn't effect your crop, but probably best not to reuse the tubers from that plant as seed.

Fasciation on the oca as others have already said! I've got it on my blackberries and one of my cucumbers this year too. Always love to see it, so interesting. Often called a 'superbloom' in flowers. Some cool pictures online.

Steve, how do your brassicas not get eaten by cabbage whites. They have all mine if i uncover them. You have done so well this year compared to most with the challenging weather xx
I cover them on the allotment until they are about 4-8 weeks after planting, then when cabbage whites are at low activity I just monitor them, squashing eggs, squashing caterpillars and removing badly affected leaves. If we get a high activity period, like we have right now, I spray with the organic bacteria Bacillus Thuringiensis, I generally only have to do that once or twice a year, this is my second spray. Bacillus Thuringiensis is completely harmless to birds and mammals and flying insects, but it causes caterpillars to stop feeding.
