Ben it is so nice of you to feature different gardeners and gardens in your channel, so many interesting and creative ideas out there. This garden was very interesting. Thank you.
Thank you so much for showing us this dream shed. For the past few years, I've been thinking about this type of exotic garden with little staircase. It's so beautiful 😍 🤩 👌.
Absolutely brilliant!!!!! So wish I would’ve thought about this early on. This gentleman is very wise, like you Ben!!!! Pollinator highways… what a great concept. God Bless you both and your families 🙏 and your gardens!!
I love new thought in gardens. And particularly in tiny spaces which is all many people have these days. Just lovely concepts, a gardener after my own heart.
Love this guy, reminds me of my grandfather… bless him. We have woodpigins that come down for feed at feeders… but they don’t attackthe crops that I’ve seen. We are by the sea, maybe about 1/2 mile
Also on chalk and facing its challenges, also have an abundance of snails & slugs. It’s the pidgeons that eat the cherries (on an ornamental, so not so bothered), the snails and slugs eat everything else.
It’s blackbirds and magpies with a hefty dose of giant slugs in my garden. Though I think the blackbirds are keeping the snails and slugs in check and the magpies are chasing any and all other birds away.
The groundhogs & bunnies have joined forces by me. *sigh Idk what's going after the tomatoes...chipmunks, squirrels, birds...maybe all of them. This year's been a battle! Good luck everyone!
@@echognomecal6742 Hi, I'm not sure on the veracity, but I've been told that if you get holes pecked in your tomatoes, it's birds looking for water. If you make sure there is a place for them to drink, apparently they aren't as interested in the tommies. 🤷♂️ Worth a try.
One day my neighbor on the allotment found a snail 🐌 with a number on it 🐌🤔 😅 and he was showing it to his wife and then another neighbor was calling and saying:"that's mine". 😂 So he got 5 snails 🐌 🐌🐌🐌🐌 and put numbers on it and number 5 🐌 made it to my neighbors garden 300 m away from the other ones garden 🐌🤣
What a fabulous garden. I only have a small garden and slugs and snails can totally decimate the small amount of crops you can grow. I generally use raised beds and pots, but those pests still manage to get in
What a wonderful creation and pleasure to see, thanks for sharing it 😍 I particularly enjoyed the approach to wildlife and biodiversity. I feel more like a guest in my garden, they know it better than I d 😂 I’ve had some success growing lettuce in hanging baskets, I might try peas and beans in them too, perhaps with longer chains 🤔
Wonderful roof garden (with snails)! I got two really helpful natural remedies for the slugs and snails: 1. I have a hedgehog around due to a little waterbowl for birds etc, and a little wooden hegehog house. The crunch the snails and slugs. 2. I place some juniper branches around the kale which is not a favorit among those crawling ones. And have a look with a torch in the evening 🤩
Would love a proper Full English. Last time I was visiting family in Walsall had one every morning. Bet I gained a stone. Family said that the food is all I come for😅.
The reason you don’t see more of this is because (not everyone is a carpenter) permitted development doesn’t allow for a balcony/second floor etc, which means you have to apply for planning permission. That means you need to comply with relevant regulations etc and it’s way too expensive for the space you get from it
In England we have very little snow, just a few inches for a few days in the winter in Northern areas. South gets a sprinkling so.e years, not like it use to be when I was a kid.
his shed is like a small fantasyland in the midst of reality, a perfect place to slow down and appreciate life
Beautiful isn't it!
What a great video! I love his personality, his creativity, and his sense of style. Those red socks! 🤣 His garden is just lovely.

Love this video. It’s great that you show how other gardeners do their thing. Such great ideas and so much fun, thank you!
I loved this video! He really shows just what you can do with a small space! So impressive!
I think every creative person (that includes ME) should have a personal shed to do with what you want. I’m green with envy!😅
Absolutely, second that! 😀
What a great idea and a lovely garden...and shed.
It really is!
Loving these garden tours Ben - keep them coming please!
Will do! 😀
Thank you for showing us yet another perspective to gardening!❤
Wow!! that's incredible!! and what a lovely person too
Super cool space, thanks for showing us!
I enjoyed it too!
You could add a wind screen tarp it could provide a bit of shade too
That would be a smart move. 😀
This guy is amazing! He was on Gardners World a couple years ago and really intrigued me
I love how Ben asked for one jostaberry and then just ate the whole bush! 😂 great video as always Ben! Thank you!
Haha - yes indeed, they were rather moreish!

lovely episode! Thank you Joel for allowing us in!
Wonderful visit. Thanks for that!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I remember Joel's place from George Clarke's amazing spaces or shed of the year program. The man has skills, fab wee plot 👍
Absolutely! :-)
Absolutely brilliant!!!!! So wish I would’ve thought about this early on.

Pollinator highways… what a great concept.
God Bless you both and your families 🙏 and your gardens!!
Thank you - Happy Gardening!
I love this! Now it has my mind wandering away thinking I can do this on top of my shed! 😂
I loved this video! Such creativity, thank you for sharing.
I love Joel Bird, thanks for featuring him.
This was just absolutely genius idea of this carpenter. ❤it!
That was cool. Really liked the think idea of gardening on the roof shed.
Great isn't it! :-)

What a lovely garden. So creative in his process of selecting plants for it.
Definitely!
Greetings from Redondo Beach 🇺🇸🇺🇸Nice concept of gardening. 🌷🌷Nice video👍🏽
Also on chalk and facing its challenges, also have an abundance of snails & slugs. It’s the pidgeons that eat the cherries (on an ornamental, so not so bothered), the snails and slugs eat everything else.
Amazing 😍 More videos like this please! Thanks Ben!!!
How lovely!
That's such a great idea 🦊 I'm considering to do something like that as well. Thank you very much for sharing 🌝👍
I love how gardeners everywhere have their own unique nemesis. Ben has his pigeons, Joel has his snails, and for me it’s the squirrels.
Voles for me. My whole garden is an undermined maze.
If you dib a hole most places you'll just stab straight into a tunnel 🤷♂️ 🤦♂️

Mine is deer.
Such a charming man and a very fitting name for a bird watcher.
Yes indeed. :-)
Wonderful content as always!
Thank you Mr Ben : )
Oh, this is WONDERFUL!
It is a work of art as much as a garden. We'll done. Love it!
Awesome. Nothing else to say. Been watching so many of your videos and loved this one. (from Aus)
So pleased you enjoyed this one - Joel is quite a character and very inspirational.
Galvanized steel is the all-purpose slug and snail deterrent. VOE. That's a very cool setup. :)
How intriguing! I wouldn't have thought to do such a thing! Very cool! :D
Amazing.
Isn't it!
Vey cool garden! Thanks Wayne!😊
That was my thought, how lucky you are to have bullfinches in the garden :-))
They are stunning visitors. :-)
I kept on thinking about garlic and butter for the snails...as revenge since I don't really like to eat them. They're too cute.
Thats super cool!

They have a habit of finding their way just about anywhere!
@@GrowVeg raccoons come to my garden and they look for snails to eat
Great idea. Thank you for sharing
Top stuff!
Wow!
What a delightful creation
Wonderful video

Always great to prioritise the local wildlife and do our bit! 😀🌱
Lovely

How wonderful to have hedgehogs about. That’s just fantastic! :-)
If your ever in ireland your very welcome to visit my garden 😅
Very nice.
How much fun would it be to visit that garden?
It was an incredible experience I have to say. 😀

How harsh or heavy does your snow get ?
In England we have very little snow, just a few inches for a few days in the winter in Northern areas. South gets a sprinkling so.e years, not like it use to be when I was a kid.
In high snow areas I assume you would need a sharper angle or raised bed chimney like structure with deep root space
gardenplanbyai AI fixes this. Grow food in tiny space.
