      It’s blackbirds and magpies with a hefty dose of giant slugs in my garden. Though I think the blackbirds are keeping the snails and slugs in check and the magpies are chasing any and all other birds away.

      @FaceEatingOwl 2 месяца назад +2

      @@echognomecal6742 Hi, I'm not sure on the veracity, but I've been told that if you get holes pecked in your tomatoes, it's birds looking for water. If you make sure there is a place for them to drink, apparently they aren't as interested in the tommies. 🤷‍♂️ Worth a try.

    Wonderful roof garden (with snails)! I got two really helpful natural remedies for the slugs and snails: 1. I have a hedgehog around due to a little waterbowl for birds etc, and a little wooden hegehog house. The crunch the snails and slugs. 2. I place some juniper branches around the kale which is not a favorit among those crawling ones. And have a look with a torch in the evening 🤩

    The reason you don’t see more of this is because (not everyone is a carpenter) permitted development doesn’t allow for a balcony/second floor etc, which means you have to apply for planning permission. That means you need to comply with relevant regulations etc and it’s way too expensive for the space you get from it
