I mean. Some people don't want to ask for help and want to handle things on their own.
This is especially common in people who failed before and are trying to "put themselves back together" so to speak and you can't always force what you want onto someone else even if it's to help them. If he asked I'm 100% sure spencer would help, but freddie has to ask first.

I love how they played Freddie, the broke guy, becoming the dude who dresses up in MLM merch and spends all of his money in it, and then Spencer, the rich guy, just becomes this sort of spiritual guru like celebrities usually do when they join this sort of thing
As someone who is well aware of and against MLMs, while this episode didn't make me laugh as much as others, I'm glad they decided to touch on the topic of MLMs, especially for an audience of nostalgic young adults like me who are fairly prone to fall for those scummy companies. This isn't my favorite episode, but the one I appreciate the most.

I hate that it looks like iCarly is just a Instagram live on a phone. When she was 13 she had her own website en Freddie had sick equipment. I hope those 2 things change in the second season
To be fair nowadays very few content creators have personal websites and the presentation of the web show reflects that social media has exploded since the original series aired.

I’m actually so happy they talked about MLMs. Too many of my friends have been brainwashed and isolated by these predatory companies.

What I love most about this series is when they have callbacks to the original and they literally bring back the actors of side characters. God, I feel old.

I was so mad when they didn’t do a broadcast in the seventh episode. It looked like we were just inches away from one.
My only problem with this episode is that I think Harper should have been more at the forefront of the episode, specially since she’s so crucial to the plot
I think Spencer and Carly are way more interesting characters so I’m glad it was the way it is actually. Harper has plenty episodes with her at forefront, doesn’t have to be EVERY episode
Edit: Plus, it’s not like we barely saw her. Still a decently big role
everytime she is on screen, she has everyone's attention so i personally didnt feel like she lacked presence. now that i think about it, she was more in the background but im glad she related to freddie on something.
@@syncere She kinda reminds me of the way freddie was in the background the first few episodes before they started focusing in hard on his and millicents relationship. I expect she'll be getting more screentime within the next 2.
@@NRG-REC probably. i think i would rather the show naturally have characters contribute to the story, just like they have been doing. then there can be episodes where it revolves around a certain charcater. if the show started with a whole episode about freddie, then harper, then milicent then spencer, it would feel weird to me. i like having every interact with each other in different ways and different amounts. So that way when we get an episode dedicated to harper, it will hold more weight.
It’s good they’re building a supporting cast around Harper, like Alexavier for her fashion aspirations and CJ for friends outside Carly (and former assistant manager). The original series didn’t really go in for building support characters around one specific main character, it was only really Socko for Spencer and even then it was for the flashy socks and the family who really went in for nominative determinism.
Y’all, I wanna see what happened to Mandy! Is she still a super fan? Does she thrive in the online world of fandom that rose quick after her Icarly fan days? I wanna see what’s going on with that girl

I think they made the choice to deny Freddie a new place so that all main characters continue living next to each other.
Now this is the best episode yet! Not only did it iCarly broadcast but it was just funny and joyful and it really felt like they found their footing.
Yeah everyone was involved, none of the dialogue seemed too cringe and all around good episode

In regards of the episode itself, IMO I don't think it was as good as the past 2 weeks but it was still entertaining for me, I really love the show though. Great video as always, glad I found your channel!

that maybe be true BUT it does happen that people arent as enthusiastic with what was once their dedication of a hobby and with desperate measures they have to sell their collection because ether way you're going to end up losing them anyways if you dont fix the potential of going bankrupt considering that you're going to end up being in jail and all that.
I love that they brought back Griffith and didn’t use a random new character, but also the fact the Griffith is a MLM promoter makes SENSE! like a guy who collected Benny babies would SOOOO be apart of an MLM chain.
Maybe ICarly is on a RUclips like site not twitch, so that would explain how they;re making money, from the VODs and the stream at the same time
It doesnt really make sense what they would be making money on though. Carly doesn't really do anything and rarely does the webshow.

I ALMOST got trapped in an MLM but something about how the guy was basically rushing me into a decision creeped me out. Plus money doesn’t motivate me so I could never be a saleswoman especially not for a product I don’t care about lololol. Also you are the reason I have a Paramount subscription

1:13 So Carly is effectively similar to Arnold from Hey Arnold in the fact that both of them like to help other people even when no one asked for their help there was even an episode of Hey Arnold where the other Kids tell him that.
Had one friend get into an MLM. He asked us to stop by for a presentation on some products and at first we were excited thinking it was a hobby project. Unfortunately it was not. I think he eventually stopped, but not after taking a massive loss in unbought products.
I am so glad he did! I was almost stuck in an MLM too. They wanted all the contacts on my phone. It was creepy.

When I saw iMLM I didn’t think of multi level marketing, I genuinely thought the episode would about either men loving men or marxist leninist maoists. I don’t know why my brain works like this.

The only experience I’ve had with these as a 25 year old is my mom being in a Mary Kay scheme when I was around 10. She got out fast from my remembrance
My mom did it when I was in middle school. We ended up with a ton of makeup for a couple years..
My grandma is doing it right now and I keep trying to convince her to get out of it but she won't listen its been almost a year and the problem keeps getting worse I don't know what to do

My grandmother somehow got into it and soon my whole family was drinking it. My mom buys it just for herself (and me) but my grandmother does buy it to sell. Idk how they got her but knowing she’s a sensitive and delicate woman, I don’t have to think about it much.
I think I got addicted to the herbal teas but I’ve been hearing a lot of liver failure cases are related to Herbalife so I’m a bit wary.
But this icarly episode reminded me of something.
The first time I ever smelled of the shake mixture containers, they reminded me so much of fish food. The same smell.
Every time I see a new shop selling it open around my town, i feel so bad. I really hope it dies down one day but seeing how popular it is even now, I’m afraid it won’t be for a while.
There are shakes with low carbs and high protein good for losing weight though

These youtubers with a few exceptions aren't making as much money as you seem to think fam. Not even close.
With Harper’s boss, I had a very similar situation with a coworker that sort of basically did the same stuff. He didn’t like the fact one day I told him what to do in our department that I was in much longer than him for and basically coached me. I made it simple that they could either get with the program or the program will become short staffed.
I liked that there was no drama with them, still friends

I've been to two MLM starting meetings, one time because of my dad because he didn't know what it was about, another time when a family friend asked me to go. I can understand the hook, but all I get at the end of the meeting is you aren't really saying how to sell or what their product or products are just say go and sell for your dream.
"Some of that iCarly weirdness still remains in here somewhere". The whole episode was about drinking sand.
I still prefer the original ending that had Sand turning out to be cocaine. 🤣🤣🤣

As someone who was unknowingly recruited into a MLM Vector Marketing by a friend from high school, I adored this episode! But OMG NO FREDDIE! He spent ALL his life savings?! Fuck! He’ll be stuck with his mom forever! I hope he can somehow get that money back and a job. I loved how this show included ICarly and had repercussions. Also Harper was the best character in this episode! I loved her dynamic with Freddie at the end, they’re like brother and sister. Also Harper’s manager was a POS. As someone whose worked at several restaurants, I can confirm three minutes late doesn’t count as being late. If you are over 5-10 minutes late, then it’s bad. Also glad Freddie stood up for himself, but wish he didn’t spend all his savings. I hope the writers have him move out of his moms by the end of the season or next season and he gets his own place. Maybe he can get the job back?
My mother's ex girlfriend was into a MLM. It was incredible how she denied that that was the case. I mean, screw yourself alone, you do whatever you want to do...

I'm a social hermit and onetime an MLM tried to prey on me while jobless but when they said I needed to sell to friends and family I just silently left, when they asked why I wasn't interested I was like "I don't have people to sell to in the sense of friends, and I know my family doesn't have the money to waste on shit I'm selling so"

This episode had my dying of laughter until I found out the sand was fake, I thought they were gonna find out they were all trafficking drugs for bro and I thought that was hilarious
This episode immediately reminded me of how my dad’s friend from Maryland tried to rope me into the pyramid scheme he was in, AMWAY, for anyone who also knows. It seemed sketchy to me off the jump but I played along in the beginning because I did not want to embarrass my dad. It’s funny because it was immediately after I graduated high school like you brought up. But what sucks is all the people I saw there that were fully convinced by it. So ppl need to have their guard up and be careful out there. Cruel world sometimes full of people who only view you as a dollar.

It’s so surreal watching iCarly literally growing up and living in Seattle as a kid and adult. It’s like a weird parody of real life (which I guess kinda is the show in a nutshell) but it’s an extra weird feeling that they are parody of the same age group and location as me.
Carly only has 3 million subs after being an online legend for years and got less than 50 views during her livestream 😬
Fred’s a legend yet has tons less views then 3AM channels justice died long ago
Influencers can lose power if they dont do it regularly also carly isnt in high school which was back when she had her channel

Also I had a couple friends get sucked into mlms this was super accurate. I feel your criticism the last 3 killed it. It does feel damn near like they heard your criticism because since you made that video they've been including the website and giving the characters completed development each episode unlike the Carlys birthday episode so yeah they definitely killing it

I really like how solid this episode was. I've been really wanting more interaction between Harper and Freddy since it kinda just felt like the type of situation where one person has two friends but they are never seen hanging/interacting with each other unless they are in a group. While realistic, it still felt like a weird void between them when they only get the occasional two lines to each other. The bonding towards the end actually felt nice. I also like how Harper continues to progress as a character straying further away from just being a stereotype and being her own person. My only hope is that we get to see family members or more characters from her side to give us more background on who she is as an individual.

Loved this episode. I actually have an experience with MLM, more specifically AMWAY.
I was shopping at CVS when this guy came up to me. We started talking about what I do (currently in research but aspiring to be a physician), and he said he has a "mentor" who was a physician. This mentor pretty much had so much passive income that she works for free. He wanted me to meet her, so I was like sure.
But then before I could meet her, he wanted to vetted me. In short, we met a couple of times . He made me read some weird book. During our fourth meeting, I actually learned about his motive. He wanted me to join AMWAY

I got roped into an MLM. I decided to not sell it, but jokes on them, I actually used the products.
