Have you ever heard of a book by Brice Taylor called THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. At a very early age she was made to have sex with politicians, actors, singers and royalty. Hope was involved with the child sex trafficking ring she was in and he waited until she was 14 to have sex with her.

Met Bob Hope in an elevator in 1980. While others in the elevator were asking dumb starstruck questions, when the elevator door opened I simply asked what he was doing in town (NYC). He asked me to join him for a walk in the streets. Told me he liked taking walks each evening. I found him to be very humble and we didn’t talk show business or women. We eventually shook hands and parted ways.

I saw Bob Hope when he passed through our airbase in Japan. He gave a short show and it was fabulous. I think the one line I always loved was in WW 2, he was in front of a bunch of troops with a beautiful lady on his arm and he told the troops, " I just want to to see what you're fighting for".

    • @B25gunship

Lol. My Dad said he had a routine where Hope was on a park bench alongside some beautiful chick and he'd say, "Some park."
      She'd say, "Some park."
      Hope would say, "Some grass."
      She'd say, "Some grass."
      Hope would say, "Some dew."
      She'd say, "Some don't! "
I always remembed this and thought it hilarious. My Dad was in the Admiralty Islands when he saw him. I recently saw a published photograph of Hope giving a performance in front of a large crowd of servicemen in the Admiralty Islands and wondered if Dad was in the picture somewhere. I don't care how big a womanizer he was, he provided decades of entertainment for our troops. Now, as an aside to this, my Dad's sister couldn't stand Hope. I think it was because he exploited the women who were in his shows and the sexism involved. Like I say, "Who cares."

When I was a kid, I adored Bob Hope. As an adult, I do find it sad that he wasn't as good a human being as I imagined. It shows such a terrible amount of disrespect for his wife and family, especially as some of his philandering was public. I think it is also interesting that a significant number of his partners dies tragically. Perhaps their lives were troubled in ways that made they easy pickings. Certainly true in the case of Barbara Payton. While all of this information doesn't lessen Bob Hope's achievements or contributions, it doesn't speak well for him as a human being.

I was washing pots and pans; And by tradition, I was pushing a trolley of pots into an elevator and she was coming out via the kitchen to perform in cabaret. In 1973, I worked at the San Francisco Airport. It was my lunch break and I ran to grab a hot dog. As I turned around from the hot dog stand, with hot dog in hand, I ran smack dab into a man's chest and mustard went all over his tie. I was mortified! And then, as I looked up into this face with a nose that no one else has, I realized I had just smeared Bob Hope with mustard and he wasn't happy. I apologize profusely and ran.
After a moment, I felt so bad that I wanted to apologize. He had always been my perfect thought of what my father should be. So, I squared my courage and went to the airline"s desk, finding out he was in their VIP lounge.
As I reached the lounge's double door, I stood on my toes to peek in its small window to see if I could locate him.
There he was, on a plush chair with a tall leggy blonde on his lap. His hand was up her skirt and they were lip locked.

It rattled me a bit, but maybe I was looking too hard. In 2018, I was working on a merchant ship named after him (USNS Bob Hope) and lost the tip of my finger in a door, nail and all. I used to work with a woman who danced in films when she was younger (including Singing In The Rain). She had great stories, one of which was that she was a dancer on Hope's USO tours. She said he would travel in his own plane and everyone else would travel in a separate one - that is unless you were a dancer that caught his eye. That dancer flew with him so that he could enjoy her company. My friend, who has since passed away, actually turned him down.

You can add to that list the owner of Check Inn 99 bar on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok. Whenever his USO tour touched down in Bangkok prior to and after his shows in S.E. Hope made it a point to visit her. In her day Mama Noi was considered one of the most beautiful women in all of Bangkok. Even into her 80's Mama Noi was at the old location everynight, sipping wine and chatting with all the old timers. I had the pleasure of meeting her and spending a lot of time with her and listening to her stories of the way Bangkok was when it was the destination for soldiers on R&R from the Vietnam War.

I knew my husband was cheating even though he denied it I knew it straight from the beginning they don’t understand their behaviour changes but they don’t see it! I did and of course three months later my husband told me he was having an affair ! women aren’t stupid but if women are stupid enough to put up with them having affairs then what do they expect. Yes, & their behavior can become very secretive, combative, even lax in their behavior, etc. I know, I went through it all. And yes, I finally divorced him after realizing he enjoyed being with other women & being involved in other behaviors that weren't a plus for our marriage & wasn't going to change. I & his wedding vows meant absolutely nothing to him.
I just wished he woulda told me that from the get go. It woulda saved me from many tears & much heartache. 😢💔

The first time I ever learned about Bob's philandering was from the book: "The Secret Life of Bob Hope" by Arthur Marx (yes, son of Groucho)
"Arthur Marx recounts how Jayne Meadows and Steve Allen overheard the Hopes having a noisy backstage fight during a 1972 telethon. According to Meadows, Bob told Dolores, '"I want a divorce!" Dolores, who for years had endured her husband's philandering, reportedly wheeled around and sneered: "All right. Bob, you can have your divorce. Just give me $50 million cash." Hope decided it was cheaper to keep her."
I imagine the real reason why Dolores stuck around was because even though he cheated on his wife, he provided Dolores (and their adopted kids) with a nice, expensive, comfortable living that she couldn't possibly afford as a single, divorced woman.

I have always wondered why celebrities get married. They are never home to have a real family, unless the other spouse gives theirs up, but, even then, the other is on the road and there is a lot of temptation and instant gratification out there. Very few have or had any longevity. Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward are one, hard to think of others. It might be similar to drug addiction among celebrities, like Janis Joplin said, she was always trying to keep that feeling when she was performing in her daily life, that buzz, that euphoria. They get addicted to the rush of stardom, that power they have and feed off of.

No I did not know of the alleged affairs of Mr. Hope. And frankly I don't care. Why? Because I chose to remember him as the man I saw in Vietnam that sang Silent Night with the troops in December of 1968 and 1969. In 1968 I was backstage in Cu Chi Vietnam, on duty as an MP providing security for his USO Troup. In 1969, I was still there and still an MP only on that day I was on convoy duty, again providing security for the convoy. We just returned to Cu Chi base camp in our V-100 armored cars and were told that Bob was putting on his annual Christmas show on base camp. As we roared in to the show area, Bob shouted out "Here comes the calvary". A few weeks later when his Christmas show aired back in the states, I got to see my platoon live on TV with Bob Hope calling us the Calvary. I'll never forget those days. He always ended his shows with the singing of Christmas carols and Silent Night was a crowd favorite. There wasn't a dry eye in the arena. It was so touching. It's been over 50 years and yet I remember it as if it were yesterday. I'll never forget how that man gave up his Christmas Holiday at home to be with us in a war zone. In my eyes, He can do no wrong. And I just know that he is now enjoying his just rewards.

Thank you for your service. I remember an entertainer that traveled with Hope during Vietnam. They visited a hospital and he instructed all of the entertainers with him. they were not to show any negative emotion. He went up to every single patient and spent time with them. One was in a coma and woke while he was there. They said that hope was overcome with emotion and went outside sobbing. He was a man of weaknesses, talent and dedication to the troops. I chose to remember this story about him most.

Facts Verse puts out this kind of content which has no current "newsworthiness," at the expense of "good taste" and "dignity" knowing that it will increase subscriptions and generate revenue.

@@opaulamorgan4265 The overwhelming majority of famous people accused of this will reflexively deny it. Admitting it would end or damage ones career back then. That is also why movie stars hid in the closet back then. America was a far more uptight place back then.
As for Facts Verse, I stumbled into it and watched because I remembered Hope from my childhood. Being dead does not mean historians of all types should cease documenting their lives. Yes, the fact that Hope was a serial philanderer is not as important as, say, Thomas Jefferson raping his slaves and impregnating at least one. Or the relatively recently released recording of Ronald Reagan calling Black people “monkeys”. While Jefferson and Reagan are also dead, there is a need for an accurate historical record. Yes, Hope’s is relatively unimportant, but blame Americans for enjoying salacious stuff.

I came upon this after reading "Every Woman John F. Kennedy Had An Affair With" also posted by Facts Verse. I don't consider Facts Verse an "historical site" who is trying to "set the record straight," by enlightening everyone about the sordid events in someone's past life that happened many years ago! It's just the opposite, Facts Verse doesn't care, they are only interested in increasing subscriptions and revenue by luring people in with the caption "Every woman Bob Hope Had an Affair With," and it works! And, as I said, it appeals to a certain type of person not just satisfied to read the content, but eager to make thoughtless and denigratingl comments about the subject person which because of embellishment takes on a "life of it's own," the comments about John Kennedy being the worst! Sixty and seventy years ago gossip and innuendo about celebrities (which one could find in ("Confidential" magazine, the equivalent of today's "National Enquirer") was not reported by the media because society was less accepting and tolerant of certain behavior. Now that attitudes in society have changed, for the worse, almost anything is acceptable or at least tolerable! Politicians can lie and deny publicly and not be held accountable, and not lose their positions, and everyone knows about Hollywood! At least in former years some discretion was used so as to not hurt anyone or ruin careers. The narrator of this channel who is revealing
Information about Bob Hope's private life is disgusting with his smooth, glib, matter-of- fact voice! How would he feel if his indiscretions were reported on a public channel!

  • @tommytube268

The Hollywood society is different than normal. Bob Hope, was someone who took from Hollywood and gave to Normal. Christmas Tours for decades for our military personnel was appreciated by millions. Putting himself in harms way and doing shows for many little outposts is still in my mind absolute patriotism. Bob Hope and Jerry Lewis are flawed people who I admire for their absolutely monumental work for others.
