Can we agree that both cares a brilliant in both design and performance? That Audi launches like a bullet, but the M3 has a beautiful kick down at high speeds.
The BMW M3 is a lovely car and a great performer. So too is the Audi RS4 and it is roomier i.e. more practical. The Audi RS4 is a heavier and probably thirstier car with the Quattro system. The Quattro is ultimately a big + in everyday driving, especially in the wet and in Winter. Which is why, although I like both, I would ultimately buy the RS4.
I've had the cs for about a month now and i can tell you that the car is far more practical than it seems. Ride isn't that bad at all and I live in NY with some of the shittiest roads you've ever seen. Not having a center console and arm rest gets annoying but the interior is so worth it imo, even the racing seats are still comfy and don't bother you unless your in the car for 2+ hours. Power is just unbelievable. I saw he had it in sport mode for the rolling race and i'm surprised it still did that well. Car is quick in sport but sport plus is just another level. Holy shit the sensation of thrust off the turbos is just addicting. RS4 looks good and is definitely more practical but i can't imagine it matches the CS in terms of fun. So long as you don't drive like an asshole the car works perfectly fine in rain or sleet (had a lot of both in march) and i think it's ultimately the better pick so long as you live in a place where winters aren't too harsh.
The way that RS4 launches, especially during the second run, you can see the front wheels are pretty much close to lifting off the ground! That's one helluva car
Absolutely love the M3 CS, in fact I was lucky enough to have that actual car for a week. Shows BMW's BHP figures are very conservative, I estimated the S55 puts out just over 500bhp in reality. Great video but I found the CS supple suspension set up made it very easy to daily...

As someone who has always wanted an M3 growing up, I've now converted to Audi after owning a 05 M3, 17' M3 and now a 21' Q3. I converted after my brother got the 18' RS3. For me it comes down to the looks and the tech superiority of the Audi. Either way both are a treat. I'll be waiting for the 2022 RS3 Sportback to hit the 🇺🇸

Trying to avoid the comparison with a direct rival is not fair. Each car has its own strenghts and each car fights with their weapons. The fight is completely fair. But don't worry the bmw is better on a lot of other points (but i guess you won't try to find excuses for the audi when she loses?)
M3 CS cost 50k more than a regular m3. For that price you can have a premium plus a4 and a regular m3. Oh yea the CS doesn't have a arm rest, dual zone climate control or rear air vents to save wieght.
Price difference between m3 competition and CS is a little over 10k new if you want to compare it properly. And a year old M3 comp can be got for 40k or thereabouts.... i do wonder what will happen to second hand value of CS. Look at the CSL now
S3Ben Idk where you live but in Germany the m3 coast about 80k. With the competition pack 7,9k more. The Cs coasts about 113k so its a Minimum difference of 25k.

The M3 in simple terms is a driver's car, on track its a beast and in the real world it would devour twisty roads. I love both cars to fair, but I'd take Beamer because I love the aggressive design. The Standard M3 has 3 more years in the market compared with the rs4 so the competition is was fair. Besides from that M division always be the more focus on DRIVING and enjoying a sports car like it's meant to be.

Driving on a track with corners requires skill, and that is why I love my M140i and wouldn't swap it with an RS3 (the M140i's direct competitor). The BMW is much more fun. In sport+ it turns off 50% of the traction control, allowing me to slide the back end around corners, drift out, it's bloody brilliant. In an RS3 all I would be able to do is understeer around a corner and then pin it once I straightened up - b o r i n g...... Who buys a performance car to get good MPG ?? Although, saying that, I'd bet my months wages my M140i gets a lot more mpg than an RS3, if I drive in comfort mode it is actually pretty good on fuel. The driving position is perfect, and the seats are absolutely amazing, and in comfort mode with the adaptive suspension it rides the bumps very well. 6 cylinder BMW engines are world class for reliability, it's their V8's which have issues. Now that was real world talk.
@Dylan Jacobs I have driven plenty of Audi's. I actually work in the motor trade Dylan, at a main dealership. The actual 0-60 time is boring, because traffic light racing IS boring, it requires no skill, just sit there holding the steering straight and pin the throttle. I get my thrills driving a twisty, undulating, challenging road, where you can feel the car really working hard around the corners, moving around, requiring you to correct any over-steer. For daily use, the Audi is not 'better'. It is not more comfortable : the M140i has adaptive suspension so it is very comfortable in comfort mode, yet stiffens the suspension in sport +. My M140i is mapped, and can also do 0-60 in under 4 seconds anyway, but what I like more about the BMW than the Audi, is the BMW only has RWD which means to get those sort of 0-60 times requires skill in modulating the throttle to get maximum traction, it's not easy. In the Audi, just use launch control and let the AWD do all the work for you, it's too easy, no skill. I'm not talking bollocks, I am talking from real life experience, and from the knowledge of somebody who works in the motor trade. Audi's are great cars, but they do not require the same skills as driving a pure RWD car, and THAT is what gives me a thrill. Oh, and at parties I'm usually the one either DJ-ing, or playing guitar & singing, so I'm actually quite a 'fun' person :-)

Fun of driving is for me and MANY others the most important aspect of the car. In that view the CS is lightyears ahead. Audi is a nice car for a big family, nice cruiser on the autobahn. On curvy roads and especially on a track it sucks.
For daily driving i would choose the rs4 for sure. Sporty, amazing look and practical.The m3 is a typical m3 - slow from a digg fast at higher Speed. M3 is so much lighter, trackfocused, more powerful and so much better aero but still a compromise compared to a real sportscar.

M3 CS is a true sports car. Wins rolling race, brake test, with a few more meters wins a standing drag too. Its a no brainer this is the superior car. And that's the reason it sets a quicker track time than this Audi wagon
Why did you have the M3 in its regular Sport mode and not Sport Plus? The suspension was on comfort FFS. If you are going to be honest, at least put the car in its 'race' settings and not 'getting groceries' mode. For anyone interested, skip to the 4:21 mark to see the M3's settings are tuned down.

The casuals don't understand BMW engineering. They make their cars not to be the quickest off the line, but to be the most balanced which gives you the speed plus cornering, smoothness and drift. You cannot get a better blend from audi or merc. They just give you more power.
Am so in love with Audis RS models and that Quattro. So great for drag races which we use on day to day racing like from robot to the next than open tracks. Comfortable ride and more reliable than BMW.
I love BMW, but its not fair to compare exclusive super version of M4 with standard RS4 and also heavier avant. More objective is to compare M4 CP and RS5. Next gen of M4 will fix this confusion. There will be standard M4/3 (with AWD probably) and Competition.
Kanon Plus the5 has always been more of a Autobahn street beast. It was never a track toy. An m4/m3 will always be rwd for a couple of reasons. One of them being that they don't care about an m5 being heavy hence they didn't mind the added weight from an AWD system.
First, new M5 didn't become heavier than F10. Even lighter. Second power increase and weight is not enough for competition with Merc and Audi. I think that AWD will be: a) as option b) more simple than in M5

With proper launch control you can hit 11.6-11.7 in the m3 CS. I did 11.9 with my 2015 m3 at the drag strip, when it was stock. Then 11.4 with only K&N drop in filters and bm3 stage 1 tune lol

Drag race is useless I mean in real life we do rolling race,on highways you can't say to a person to stop and do the drag race. BMWs are rear wheel drive that delays a bit on the other hand AWDs are fast at start point. RWDs are most fun to drive and BMWs are for sheer driving pleasure.
Says the guy that thinks roll racing is better. You would normally be going much faster when roll racing than just running stop lights. Second; there are times there is no people or traffic at light just as much as there isnt when when roll racing. Time and place.
The new M5 is definitely not slower, BMWs are undertuned from the factory anyway. What it adds in weight it will make up for when the car can take off instantly without spinning wheels.
I've got to be honest. I love Carwow but I'm bored of these drag races now. I've got nothing against car comparisons but let's face it, none of these cars are going to be unleashed on an airport runway. How about some timed races on a twisty track or a slalom. Drag racing is just a bit one dimensional.
if you put an rs4 avant which is heavier and less powerful and is a larger car with a bigger friction coefficient and still beats your "track" car in 1/4 mile... I would not be bragging about that. Plus braking test, have you seen the size of the M3's brake and the RS4 brake? Either poor performance from the M3 or superb performance from the RS4. Audi does not have to thank the quattro system. BMW should fix their stuff... try against the RS4+ or the RS4-R...

RS4 is quicker off the line because of Quattro AWD, but M3 is probably faster because after a certain point AWD starts losing to RWD

The Standard M3 has 3 more years in the market compared with the rs4 so the competition is was fair. Besides from that M division always be the more focus on DRIVING and enjoying a sports car like it's meant to be.

Drag racing is boring, and requires no skill.
Driving on a track with corners requires skill, and that is why I love my M140i and wouldn't swap it with an RS3 (the M140i's direct competitor). The BMW is much more fun. In sport+ it turns off 50% of the traction control, allowing me to slide the back end around corners, drift out, it's bloody brilliant.
In an RS3 all I would be able to do is understeer around a corner and then pin it once I straightened up - b o r i n g......
Who buys a performance car to get good MPG ??
Although, saying that, I'd bet my months wages my M140i gets a lot more mpg than an RS3, if I drive in comfort mode it is actually pretty good on fuel.
The driving position is perfect, and the seats are absolutely amazing, and in comfort mode with the adaptive suspension it rides the bumps very well.
6 cylinder BMW engines are world class for reliability, it's their V8's which have issues.

@Dylan Jacobs I have driven plenty of Audi's. I actually work in the motor trade Dylan, at a main dealership.
The actual 0-60 time is boring, because traffic light racing IS boring, it requires no skill, just sit there holding the steering straight and pin the throttle.
I get my thrills driving a twisty, undulating, challenging road, where you can feel the car really working hard around the corners, moving around, requiring you to correct any over-steer.
For daily use, the Audi is not 'better'. It is not more comfortable : the M140i has adaptive suspension so it is very comfortable in comfort mode, yet stiffens the suspension in sport +.
My M140i is mapped, and can also do 0-60 in under 4 seconds anyway, but what I like more about the BMW than the Audi, is the BMW only has RWD which means to get those sort of 0-60 times requires skill in modulating the throttle to get maximum traction, it's not easy. In the Audi, just use launch control and let the AWD do all the work for you, it's too easy, no skill.
I'm not talking bollocks, I am talking from real life experience, and from the knowledge of somebody who works in the motor trade.
Audi's are great cars, but they do not require the same skills as driving a pure RWD car, and THAT is what gives me a thrill.
Oh, and at parties I'm usually the one either DJ-ing, or playing guitar & singing, so I'm actually quite a 'fun' person :-)

Fun of driving is for me and MANY others the most important aspect of the car. In that view the CS is lightyears ahead. Audi is a nice car for a big family, nice cruiser on the autobahn. On curvy roads and especially on a track it sucks.

For daily driving i would choose the rs4 for sure. Sporty, amazing look and practical.The m3 is a typical m3 - slow from a digg fast at higher Speed. M3 is so much lighter, trackfocused, more powerful and so much better aero but still a compromise compared to a real sportscar.

You can feel the m3’s superior chassis by doing something as simple as changing lanes, making a turn at a light or taking it through some backroads need to go on a track for that.
The m3 has roof racks for bikes, and the rs4 is only ever faster from the dig, the m3 is faster in every other equation.

M3 CS is a true sports car. Wins rolling race, brake test, with a few more meters wins a standing drag too. Its a no brainer this is the superior car. And that's the reason it sets a quicker track time than this Audi wagon

Why did you have the M3 in its regular Sport mode and not Sport Plus? The suspension was on comfort FFS. If you are going to be honest, at least put the car in its 'race' settings and not 'getting groceries' mode. For anyone interested, skip to the 4:21 mark to see the M3's settings are tuned down.

Am so in love with Audis RS models and that Quattro. So great for drag races which we use on day to day racing like from robot to the next than open tracks. Comfortable ride and more reliable than BMW.

I love BMW, but its not fair to compare exclusive super version of M4 with standard RS4 and also heavier avant. More objective is to compare M4 CP and RS5. Next gen of M4 will fix this confusion. There will be standard M4/3 (with AWD probably) and Competition.

Kanon Plus the5 has always been more of a Autobahn street beast. It was never a track toy.
An m4/m3 will always be rwd for a couple of reasons. One of them being that they don't care about an m5 being heavy hence they didn't mind the added weight from an AWD system.
Farhan Chowdhury the new M3 will have the same xDrive system as the M5, which means you can turn it off and the M3 will be lighter than before.
First, new M5 didn't become heavier than F10. Even lighter. Second power increase and weight is not enough for competition with Merc and Audi. I think that AWD will be: a) as option b) more simple than in M5

With proper launch control you can hit 11.6-11.7 in the m3 CS. I did 11.9 with my 2015 m3 at the drag strip, when it was stock. Then 11.4 with only K&N drop in filters and bm3 stage 1 tune lol

Drag race is useless I mean in real life we do rolling race,on highways you can't say to a person to stop and do the drag race. BMWs are rear wheel drive that delays a bit on the other hand AWDs are fast at start point. RWDs are most fun to drive and BMWs are for sheer driving pleasure.

Speed limit, traffic etc are the reasons for not having the drag race near signals and don't put other's life in risk

The new M5 is definitely not slower, BMWs are undertuned from the factory anyway. What it adds in weight it will make up for when the car can take off instantly without spinning wheels.

Plus braking test, have you seen the size of the M3's brake and the RS4 brake? Either poor performance from the M3 or superb performance from the RS4. Audi does not have to thank the quattro system. BMW should fix their stuff... try against the RS4+ or the RS4-R...
