well are some aspects to debate here : first obviously the differences in price is quite significant and not fair so one could argue that to match the price of BMW, Audi could get an performance up-graded kit (ECU + air filter + exhaust or whatever) to match the performance of BMW and then results will differ of course.. otherwise for me to choose the BMW would mean to change first that ugly front nostrils with a PRIOR bumper and latter maybe add the more aggressive competition pack..
The power is down. Can’t understand why Audi doesn’t give the RS4 at least 500bhp. Easily achieved with that engine. Or just map it to 510bhp then rerun the test.

When BMW says 630, it can be 660, 670 in normal conditions easily. Creative power testing (supposedly under absolutely worst conditions that are faar from average) let's BMW (and Porsche to a degree) to be recognized as "BmW PoWaaAaH KiiiNNNg" while their cars are frequently just much more powerful than the competition that on paper is somewhat similar. I wouldn't be surprised if that audi was making 460 bhp while bmw closer to 550. That's a huge gap, no wonder BMW walks it after start. It should be racing with RS6.

I had driven the RS4 B8 awhile ago and had the M3 Touring for a weekend two weeks ago. I thought my memories of RS4 were a bit diluted, but this video cleared the doubts. The M3 Touring felt like from a complete different generation of power/tech/quality than the RS4 B8. Even the B9 feels miles behind on the tech/interior not to mention power output. M3 Touring is a phenomenal car, really really enjoyed it.
Both very nice cars. The M3 is a magnificent piece of engineering. That model of RS4 does seem to have been around though for quite a number of years though to be fair so as you would expect things move on. Think it must be due a replacement model very soon

I am just curious about the outcome, not a fanboy of either one of the brands. Audi seems to have made quite some improvements on the higher end RS models with more torque, power, efficiency and weight loss... Especially rs7 and rs6 models.

The BMW is a gorgeous car no doubt but my personal choice will be the Audi, just my preference really. I think that for the extra 15k in price the Audi can be spiced up and be competitive. For example a stage 2 remap, exhaust, intake etc. the power output will be around 510bhp and 720nm or if you want some uniqueness you can do a full ABT conversion. Anyway well done BMW for building the M3 Touring 👏
It's fast enough and most buying are buying for ease of use and necessity. It's all well and great having more bhp but the reliability drops and the warranty disappears which you need. ThBMWmw more than the Audi. It's all the car you need and the only reason to get an upgrade say stage 2 is bragging rights and social media posts. As that's the only time you will care for others. What a fast car to tune don't buy a 90k 2.2-ton one to start with.
£15k will pretty much double BHP and torque on that Audi. I saw Pols did Stage 1 for £800 with 530bhp. BRPerformance did Stage 2 (Milltek, intake and map) that dynoed at 573Hp and 875Nm
@@redlinethin the transfer box on the Audi is not strong enough to cope with that level of torque, past 720-750 they tend to break. The standard charge cooling system is also very poor and many upgrades available that are decent. The S58 has far more headroom for tuning and is much stronger engine. They make 750 hp JUST with decat and a tune,

@@alenalavanja6543 Its not massively underrated, in fact I think its more about how they rate the power. It's more of a worst case scenario. High heat, poor fuel and air conditions(not AC like in the car, external air humidity/elevation etc). It could make another 30hp but at worst its this number.

Starting price in The Netherlands 120k. In the past you would buy a house for that now its just enough for optionless m3 touring. And bmw sells a full option m4 for 190k euros. Thats 1 330i ffs.

Also would be interesting to see if you spent an extra 10k on the RS4 bringing it up to a similar price point - how much impact would the Quattro competition sport exhaust and diff make? Does it shave off a second 0-60? Could also add ceramic breaks for stopping, and still be about the same price as the Beemer?
They did - in the UK an RS4C is the same price as an M3 - still 450hp. Same as it was in 2018 and probably always will be - it seems that's the level for an emissions compliant 2.9TFSI.
Newer faster, more powerful car wins 🤣🤔 I’ll never get over that front end unfortunately!!!! Which sucks because the car is a a weapon and a stunner from other angles. Always love an RS4 though too and surely in daily life it’s more than enough ❤

The BMW is a gorgeous car no doubt but my personal choice will be the Audi, just my preference really. I think that for the extra 15k in price the Audi can be spiced up and be competitive. For example a stage 2 remap, exhaust, intake etc. the power output will be around 510bhp and 720nm or if you want some uniqueness you can do a full ABT conversion. Anyway well done BMW for building the M3 Touring 👏

Not really the point, you can spend $10k for a 10 second drag car, and still buy the RS4 and trailer to take it home...
It's fast enough and most buying are buying for ease of use and necessity. It's all well and great having more bhp but the reliability drops and the warranty disappears which you need. ThBMWmw more than the Audi.
It's all the car you need and the only reason to get an upgrade say stage 2 is bragging rights and social media posts. As that's the only time you will care for others.
What a fast car to tune don't buy a 90k 2.2-ton one to start with.
£15k will pretty much double BHP and torque on that Audi. I saw Pols did Stage 1 for £800 with 530bhp. BRPerformance did Stage 2 (Milltek, intake and map) that dynoed at 573Hp and 875Nm
@@redlinethin the transfer box on the Audi is not strong enough to cope with that level of torque, past 720-750 they tend to break. The standard charge cooling system is also very poor and many upgrades available that are decent. The S58 has far more headroom for tuning and is much stronger engine. They make 750 hp JUST with decat and a tune,

As a prior G80 M3 CX owner in the US, I saw this coming. The M3 is underrated HP wise and the ZedF trans is just so efficient. Love it, great video and all in fun
They both run ZF8 boxes...it's really just BMW massively underating their HP as per usual...

And carwow put the bmw m2 in dyno and it was 1 hp less then stated so thats not allways true
@@alenalavanja6543 Its not massively underrated, in fact I think its more about how they rate the power. It's more of a worst case scenario. High heat, poor fuel and air conditions(not AC like in the car, external air humidity/elevation etc). It could make another 30hp but at worst its this number.

Its not all about hp, the curve means alot, audis allways got they peak hp higher. Bmw has full NM from very low rpm

Starting price in The Netherlands 120k. In the past you would buy a house for that now its just enough for optionless m3 touring. And bmw sells a full option m4 for 190k euros. Thats 1 330i ffs.

Also would be interesting to see if you spent an extra 10k on the RS4 bringing it up to a similar price point - how much impact would the Quattro competition sport exhaust and diff make? Does it shave off a second 0-60? Could also add ceramic breaks for stopping, and still be about the same price as the Beemer?
They did - in the UK an RS4C is the same price as an M3 - still 450hp. Same as it was in 2018 and probably always will be - it seems that's the level for an emissions compliant 2.9TFSI.
