Honestly, most of these Musashi fights have bullshit cop-outs so the fights never end properly and affect the story. It's like a pre-order game bonus, gives you stuff that initially looks ool but there's no substance to it and it doesn't help the main game one bit. Next up: Musashi vs Baki and the pregnant dolphin accidentally jumping between the two, ending the fight.
Now that I think about it, that's so true. The only fights that actually ended properly was his fights with Gaia and Retsu. And maybe pickle because he was close to death and ran so thats a proper loss. Shibukawa ended it and three jump ins for yujiro, baki, and hanayama

I think yujiro was serious, but you also got to understand Musashis legacy. It's basically the same as yujiro. Go read the history of miyamoto Musashi and book of five rings. He is basically yujiro of the sword world. The fact that (fictionalized) he put down what he had perfected to try something he'd could only theorize about because there wasn't anybody in existence who might be able to handle a ShinKen shobu with that new tech. I don't think it would have killed yujiro anyway but it would have hit and done some true harm to him. If motobe is still alive THAT'S plot armor.

Musashi fights with his swords at zero distance. Within hand to hand range. Not as a handicap but because that's how warriors fight, strike and be be prepared to be cut down. If you rely on distance to win a battle then you're already afraid of your opponent. It also shows how two masters of radically different styles can still be on even ground

Yujiro does use the demon back at 5:14, also its stated by motobe that attack wouldve knocked out yujiro. Neither of them were serious in the first half, until musashi decided to use both swords. Its pretty clear both of them fought seriously during the 2nd half. Also to add on musashi technically wasnt at his full power, he didnt have the sword he once wielded 400 years ago, which was far sharper and deadly compared to the ones he was using in this fight. Musashi also has precognition abilities which he didnt use in this fight. This isnt to say that musashi is completely stronger than yujiro, because if u compare their fights with hanayama (Happened in the same arc) u could also see how yujiro was easily able to defeat hanayama compared to how musashi defeated him. Imo I think a real fight could go bothways, musashi >=< yujiro

He was never defeated HOWEVER THERE IS ONE that deserves the tip. Haneyama could have flat out killed him in thier fight and if it was by Musashi rules he would have lost right then and there. And Motobe used the fact that he knew he wouldn't take him 100% against and caught a half win. So he loss two mini times but never in actuality.

7:25 This is a pretty clear indication of who would win, Musashi went unconscious and even Retsu had a chance to beat him (granted there were certainly circumstances).

Yujiro does use the demon back at 5:14, also its stated by motobe that attack wouldve knocked out yujiro. Neither of them were serious in the first half, until musashi decided to use both swords. Its pretty clear both of them fought seriously during the 2nd half. Also to add on musashi technically wasnt at his full power, he didnt have the sword he once wielded 400 years ago, which was far sharper and deadly compared to the ones he was using in this fight. Musashi also has precognition abilities which he didnt use in this fight. This isnt to say that musashi is completely stronger than yujiro, because if u compare their fights with hanayama (Happened in the same arc) u could also see how yujiro was easily able to defeat hanayama compared to how musashi defeated him. Imo I think a real fight could go bothways, musashi >=< yujiro

He was never defeated HOWEVER THERE IS ONE that deserves the tip. Haneyama could have flat out killed him in thier fight and if it was by Musashi rules he would have lost right then and there. He didn’t get up like it was nothing either he writhed in agony for a good bit after regaining consciousness before asking Yujiro his name while Yujiro just stood there. Baki also never beat Yujiro I don’t know where you got that from, the ending? Yujiro says that because Baki destroyed his pride and gave him a path. Physically Baki had major internal bleedy lying face down while Yujiro casually walked away after taking all of Bali’s demon back hits without flinching.

Such a bad and dumb ending for the fight. Yujiro would have won to 100%. Musashi was using 100% and his best technique, while Yujiro tested and toyed with him. Yujiro didnt use any techniques or his demon back which means he wasnt even trying. Also he didnt kill with his kick because of respect to Musashi. One serious punch or kick and Musashi would be dead. Bad writing. Yujiros eyes didnt even have the killing intent, which also means he wasnt serious.
