That was a access road to the old Tip, Years and years of stuff has been dumped, and blockley`s even have a bridge to this site..All park of the old brick works. Great place to see the steam trains come through
I know of some nearby Trench Lock and nearby The Malt Shovel Pub in Leegomery. In fact I made a video along there which I called "Hadley Farm Walk" if I remember correctly :-)
@@AaronTelfordUK I can't really blame you As long as I've got a helmet on I love bombing down both smooth and rough paths and trails on my bike it is fun
I rode my bike excalty the same route as you a few weeks back and came to dead end road , i live in ketley and trying to find a short cut to work to hortonwood . As i ride along wombridge way and do the same route as you past the blue pig pub
Between Ketley and Hortonwood you can use the route between the Londis Garage (as seen at start of the vid) and Blue Pig Pub (as seen at end of vid) as seen in this video easily. The secret road that I explored in this vid is basically a side quest to explore if you want to see something different that some folk in Telford rarely visit for whatever reason.
Once you get to The Blue Pig Pub you follow the path past the lake next to the Pub and it will lead you to the traffic island and traffic lights right by KFC and Trench Lock Garage (now Morrisons) which is on the edge of Hortonwood. It's not a dead end road as such. If you follow the path on foot or bicycle the route easily connects from the Blue Pig Pub to the edge of Hortonwood and Hadley.
Thank you 😀 This was my 1st ever visit to this place so because of that I had zero idea what the path in front of me was going to be like, I had no idea the path along this abandoned road was suitable for cycling until after I explored it. On top of that it wouldn't have been possible to record a proper video fully exploring the area I walked if I'd cycled that area. I wanted to get the most from it 😀
If you use the side by side georeferenced maps you can see where any old roads used to be in Telford, I think the road you were on was the old Hill Top Road that used to run through to Hadley Road maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/side-by-side/#zoom=16&lat=52.6963&lon=-2.4625&layers=10&right=BingHyb
I admit I regret that part as I took for granted the section of path that occured at. Since then I've been considerably more careful when cycling along that same section of path.

Awesome :-)
This is an amazing video, I loved the train passing through thank you 😀
Look like a great place to take photos
Hope I can get a look at it at some point
It's a good place to explore and there are decent photo opportunities there :-)
Very interesting chap
Thank you 😀
By where the Blue Pig pub is there used to an incline plane which was part of the canals around that area
I might try looking into that for a future video if the weather improves :-)
Thank you :-)
@@AaronTelfordUK There's still remains of the Shropshire Union Canal by Hortonwood

@@AaronTelfordUK You know by the church at Wrockwardine Wood the canal went past there as well there's old mill thats now flats
@@keanestar07 I'll have to watch out for that :-)
The gap in the hedge takes you to Wombridge crossing and down to the t Hadley road. You have done a video there before I think.
You're right, I have done a video in Wombridge and also at Rose Cottage. I didn't know you could access Wombridge from this point. Thank you :-)
Well done on avoiding the -speed bumps- people
I should've been more careful at that bend. Since then I try to be more steady.

Found this tonight, in the dark, bit spooky! What a fabulous and safe place away from traffic to walk/cycle, thanks for revealing this little gem 🙂
Watching this in the minibus with the lads. Keep up the good work pal.
Thank you, I hope you and your lads like the video and you all have a good journey :-)

That was awesome to see the train blow through! Thanks for taking us for a walk Aaron!
That was a great moment to be honest. I'm glad you enjoyed the video :-)
Enjoyed the vid thanks
Thank you :-)
My friend and his wife watch these videos during coitus, they tell me the lilting tones of your voice have done their marriage wonders.
I'm glad to hear that, may their marriage last many long years Habibi :-)
Thanks for sharing the video - Why didn't you ride the paths? the surface seems to be OK.
Thank you 😀

“Smooth ride and good bit of speed” bit worrying as you nearly hit about 3 people

old tip road
I've been told loads of very interesting memories of this area which I've really enjoyed.
This vidio is doin well mate :)
Hope ur falling better
Thank you :-)
Be nice if you knew Telford , nice vid though.
That's the point of what I do with making these videos as there is much about Telford I don't know so I explore to learn about what I don't know.
Discovering parts of Telford he doesn't know... that's LITERALLY the point of the channel.... keep up the good work Aaron- Garreth
Thank you Solar Warden, I'm glad you like the channel. Hopefully I'll be out exploring again soon providing the upcoming Autumn weather allows :-)
Saw my van 😹😹
