#149 1952 panhead rust bucket tuning kick start linkert carb repair FL harley bobber tatro machine
we fixed the trans so now its time to fix what is left to get this panhead back onto the road.
the rear brake was owner rebuilt and would hardly work at all with all the dragging.
its time for a check-up and a quickee refresh to see what is wrong. you see what i find as we get it up to speed.
the clutch was slipping as he was kicking the motor over so we are going to take a look at it too. its time for some adjusting.
we rebuilt the linkert carb and it still is not working. everything i touch is in need of repair or just start over to fix it i am going to keep after it until it is a rider.

You Sir have the patience of a saint, the lads problem apart from being wet behind the ears is he confuses a bit of light hearted sarcasm and the times your serious and explaining something two or three times is giving you the shits. He’ll be fine because he’s keen and perhaps trying too hard which makes him uncoordinated, but well done for your willingness to teach the right way to do it.

Electronic ignition and fuel injection has really spoiled us.. My first bikes and cars were carburettor fed and I remember having to get to know the nature of the engine and what it needed to start in different conditions. Kinda miss is in a way.

That kid is lucky you are kinda taking him under your wing to try and teach him some stuff. I hope he actually listens and will apply what you're trying to teach or it will be a big waste of time and another idiot calling all harleys junk because he doesn't know how to maintain it and keep it running.
