saw your video on the Honda CBX500 6 month review and before I knew it I watched the entire thing! Love charming, genuine, straightforward and, ever so slightly cheeky narrations!
Absolutely the video I was looking for! I just want a simple mobile office so that I can meet with small business owners on-site. Lord knows a cargo van is still going to be a larger office than most restaurant owners have. :D
@@RocketMan_Moto It would be weird if I was! I was doing something else when you came on and I thought it was for a second. It's the overall sound but also the delivery. Not a bad comparison!! Should say that I loved your video. I fancy a van, and might not get one, but laughed at your description of the IG love in. I fancy a "day" van and I fancy a mid sized one but there are few people doing what I envision. I don't even want to do a full conversion because I'd like to be able to take the family to the beach one day and then use as an office when I fancy a change of scenery another day. I found this guy too ruclips.net/video/awwZ7N07w4w/видео.html who has a similar outlook if a different usage. He has also updated over time but kept to the same principles. Think you might enjoy his stuff ruclips.net/video/wX4Sc21u0eE/видео.html.
Thanks for the walkthrough and for including a price breakdown. I appreciate your thinking around the design. It is a nice balance of simplicity and functionality.
Nice to see David get a mention. I occasionally watch his canal boat videos. Vans, canal boats and motorbikes. All great things... Especially when combined!
Brilliant RM…You made my face smile all the way through this…are you a script writer by any chance?! Especially the bit about sleeping 8 inches from your fermenting turds 😂🤣
It’s highly unlikely that you will ever be accused of lacking the “enterprising gene”…well done❗️ I have viewed a couple of your other videos related to motorbikes and was duly impressed & thought I’d take a look at a couple more of your offerings while working out…and, I am glad I did. There’s an ol’ adage that goes like this, “what can be worse than blindness-sight with no vision”…you’ze gotz vision👍
Thanks for posting. This is of interest to me as I'd like to deploy something like this for my longer road trips. Here in North America the distances are huge, so to me it's more practical to get a van, load a smaller bike, and then drive to a place of interest and then bike around.
Good to hear something different about your lifestyle and also a different take on a van conversion. Having a pop top roof is nice so that you can stop somewhere and stand up inside. However I guess you would attract attention and people assuming you are over nighting.
True, a pop-top would be nice, but it sort of condemns the van to be for ever more used as a camper, and I prefer to keep it as a utility van for reselling :)
Don't understand the flash van life builds and have seen people try and sell clapped out vans with amazing builds for much the same price as a new van. I like the basic van life concept like in "Wayne Diaries" build as you travel, but I don't own a van, maybe one day. Even though I have a new model company van parked in the driveway. Used to own a HiAce which I carted my dirt bike in, and a friend recently said he was pinned by his XT500 inside his van, luckily a passer by freed him after a few hours. So I don't think I'd be putting anything heavier than the Grom inside a van after hearing that story. Just setting up my trailer and station wagon for weekend trips in winter, it's going to be my new way to maximise winter riding hours in my preferred location rather than spending hours getting there, probably similar to what you’re doing :)
Sounds great, Daniel, and I agree about clapped out converted vans up for sale for £20K+ just because they've got a rock & roll bed inside. Crazy, lol !
Nice-looking van. When I moved to Portugal from England in late 2011, I drove down in a really old 2.5 diesel [not turbo] Transit with all my possessions in the back, including, buried under it all, my Buell XB12X Ulysses. I bet this Fiat van was expensive in Portugal.
Thanks. That must have been a memorable journey indeed! It probably would have been expensive in Portugal, but I took the precaution of buying it in France, where I lived until coming down here 3 years ago :)
As usual a very complete and relaxing presentation, im just curious about the ramp, can you tell where you found it? Best regards from Povoa de Varzim!
Ah yes, I forgot to link to the ramp. It's this one: www.motea.com/en/loading-ramp-honda-msx-125-constands-alu-ii-foldable-340kg-183363-0 I'll add a link in the description, too. Thanks :)
Not really something I envision doing myself, nonetheless your content is always well curated. Totally agree that the puritans' van-life is unappealing and I really enjoyed your take on it as well as watching the details of your project. Cheers.
Some great ideas in this video. Thanks for sharing👍
Glad you found it useful😊👍
Thank you for holding up to your offer of doing this vid. Great conversion and, as usual, no nonsense. You're the man 💪
Thanks, Yves. Glad you enjoyed it :)

Very reminiscent of James May - both overall sound, language choice and delivery.
Haha, you're not the first to say that, Gavin :)

I'll never sell my van, that's for sure. Far too useful, even if I don't use it that often. I will check out the links - thanks :)
Enjoyed the video. There. Comment complete. Thump's up complete. My work here is done.
Lol, thanks Louis :)
Superb practical conversion. Dynamat what a fantastic product it is! 👏😀👍
Thanks😊

Bonjour Monsieur
encore une fois vos vidéos sont très intéressantes et instructives. Merci beaucoup pour ces partages et vos opinions...👍👍👍✌💓
Merci pour ces encouragements, qui me font réellement plaisir :)
As always. Great video. :D

Yes, I enjoy his videos, too. Both van & boat. Down to earth and relaxing, with eloquent commentary and great diction :)
@@RocketMan_Moto very true. I could be wrong but I think he was a reporter with the BBC so very comfortable talking in front of a camera

@@RocketMan_Moto Expensive to get Portuguese plates. Now that really is a scam they pull.
Long too. It took us 18 months. Just for a number plate!🙄

Thank you for that :) I guess some people enjoy full-time van life, but it's not my cup of tea, as you saw in the video.
Very nice build! May I ask how you fixed the window covers? It looks like clips? How are they called and where did you buy them?
Thanks. Do you mean the carpeted boards inside? I found some triangular shaped clips that screwed into the metal frames.
Oh I see you done the van video..
Yep😊
Good vídeo cheers from Silves
Obrigado, Ricardo :)
Interesting..🤔
.. Also what microphone do you use for these videos?
Thanks. I'm a real cheapskate when it come to video equipment, so I just use a cheap lapel mic plugged into my iPhone :)
@@RocketMan_Moto ohhh, it works well 👍🏽
Oh good😀
Great video, looking to do same. What gizmo are you using to lock the front wheel of the bike? Is it bolted to the floor?
Thanks. There's a link to the wheel chock in the description :)
What was the Lisbon hardware store you found the floor mat at?
Aki, next to Cascais Shopping
I thoroughly enjoyed this.
Might I ask if your commentary is scripted?
Thank you. My videos are half-scripted: I jot down a list of the things I want to talk about and make the rest up more or less as I go :)
@@RocketMan_Moto very well spoken
Doesn't feel scripted but certainly well chosen vocabulary
Thanks😊
