Thank you for posting this. I was gifted this carrier from a friend and this is our first baby, so we're really impressed with how simple your instructions are as everything seems so foreign to us at the moment.
I appreciate this video so much! Just received one of these carriers from my friend and the instructions were so confusing for me to practice before my newborn arrives. These instructions were very thorough and now I'm not confused about there being more than one piece lol. Thank you!!! ❤
They’re very similar. A lot of it comes down to personal preference- it’s more about what you would prefer than what I would prefer. I will say though, that the Caboo will generally last slightly longer, because it’s not as stretchy, but the Koala is slightly cheaper.
Hi Claire. A scarf/pashmina would do the job just as well as the additional layer. As your baby gets bigger & begins to gain torso control, they can often put their hands on your chest & push backwards. Having an additional horizontal layer helps to prevent your baby pushing the two crossed sections of fabric apart, & leaning too far away from you. I hope that helps. 😊
Yes, this or a stretchy wrap would be one of my “go to’s” for such a small baby. However, I would recommend visiting your local Sling Library/Babywearing Consultant so that you can be extra sure that your baby’s airways are clear & they are in a good position. Hope that helps! 👍🏼
The outer layer prevents your baby from leaning backwards out of the 2 cross passes. If you have a very young baby who’s unlikely to do that then you may feel secure enough without it, however as they get bigger & more active, I wouldn’t be without. You could use a wide scarf or pashmina in its place if they can’t find the outer layer.
Thanks for the useful tutorial, i have just bought one of these! I was wondering... I am quite big/fat - would it be comfortable for the babies legs to be spread that wide?!
You don’t want your baby to wrap their legs around you, regardless of your size. Hold your baby on your front, in the position they’ll be when they’re in the sling & look at where their legs are. They may, depending on their age have their knees in front of their hips & their feet right up under their bottom, or of their slightly more “uncurled” they may open their knees slightly more. Either way, THAT is the position they’ll be in once you’ve got them in the sling. Hope that helps.
I find the Close Caboo to be more useful than the Koala Cuddle Band. It's not as quickly outgrown & can be used in the hip/side carry position as well as on your front.
@@TheBabywearingAcademy Thank you. For the information. I think for the price and seeing that the two have the same system I will go for the koala since it is easier to access. But I really like your video and the way you teach how to use the baby carrier correctly. Thanks for replying!
Great guide as a first-time dad with a 2 week old. Concise and complete.
No one ever says I'm concise!! 🤣 I'm really glad it was useful. Congratulations on the birth of your Baby.
Far better than the video from the maker. Thank you so much!
So glad it was helpful. 😊

Thank you for such a detailed and pleasant video!
Hello .. I have seen this video and the Koala baby Cartier and to BE honest I dont know wich One is best? Wich One do you prefer? ☺️☺️🙏🙏

Such a helpful video, thank you! I have been given a caboo sling by a friend but no bag with it. Is it OK to use it without the final over layer?
Hi Claire. A scarf/pashmina would do the job just as well as the additional layer. Great video! Do you think this carrier would work with a small baby who weighs 6lbs?
Yes, this or a stretchy wrap would be one of my “go to’s” for such a small baby. However, I would recommend visiting your local Sling Library/Babywearing Consultant so that you can be extra sure that your baby’s airways are clear & they are in a good position. Hope that helps! 👍🏼
Is the outside wrap needed? I’ve been given a second hand one but missing the outside wrap.
The outer layer prevents your baby from leaning backwards out of the 2 cross passes. @@TheBabywearingAcademythank you! It’s probably hidden away in a box somewhere, so hopefully can find it!

Where is the link to thread it?
It’s part of the same playlist as this video. It’s here - ruclips.net/video/m51J2C4rhTU/видео.htmlsi=sxjAgq7l19fsPRrs
Its similar like koala Cuddle band?
