  • Hey guys
I don't know how many people have read this one and it might only get the views from me rewatching but I had to talk about this book. I absolutely loved it and I feel it's going to end up being my favourite of the year.

My only complaint is the hymen thing because that's not how hymens work and it annoys the hell out of me because I wish that trope would stop. And if that's my only complaint, I'd say it's pretty good lol.
Orpheus is such a good boi.

Yeah I also found that a bit odd but overall the book was so good.

I really need to finish book 2 but I started and put it down and honestly I might need to start it again at this point. I owe all the books until 5 now.

3 of 5 stars from me.
I absolutely LOVE!! Orpheus!! He is made out of love, wholesomeness, rainbows and full of fluffiness!!! My only issues were :
1} some of the sentences or words used, were repeated so often that, for ME (!!!) It felt juvenile. As if a teenager wrote some of the pages.
2} the intercourse scenes and dirty talk during it, felt a bit ... Flat for me. The whole "Pu**y" this, "Pu**y" that. Ect. Read like an Adult Movie script.😅
3} Reia.... Sweet, sweet Reia.... To 80% of her she was written as a skillful confident brave but also kind understanding and funny. But then her character development took a complete twist! For example: she thought of doing something specific, attempted it once! and continued thinking about it! but then got upset with Orpheus , when he was Honest about his feelings and Thoughts.. of Trusting her.
Beside those three points, I have family enjoy it and I can't wait to finish the last hour off the audio book and then start with the second volume.❤

Orpheus is 100% the best part of this series and I don't think any of the other dustwalkers will compare to him.

It's such an amazing book! I love these cinnamon ball characters and I'm about 100 pages into the second one and it's also been so good.

Is this kind of like The Ancient Magus' Bride?

Yes I believe so. I just googled the plot for The Ancient Magnus' Bride and they are very similar.

I'm not new to monster romance but holy hell ASTK is First Class in its genre. I read it in 2 days over xmas 😆🎄💀😈 🍆 🐙🔥 It's so carefully crafted. I felt his loneliness acutely. The world building is rich and there aren't any major expository info dumps, the reader finds things out as they do. The baths... 🥵🥵🥵 I like it the more i think about it. A big theme in this genre is usually finding the acceptable line between natural instinct and consent and tbh it usually doesn't start well. This book nails it, but then even goes on to show how it was with his first human, which I think we probably assumed was horrible. While it does speak to some survivor's action (silent isn't consent) it also shows once he obtained some sentience he was never full of malice, just very literal and working with limited knowledge. It all made sense having met the other mavka first and I was so excited that Reia felt the same way I did, feed her backwards village to him!

I read the first two books in the series. I like them. I’m with you on the monster kink, it never really worked for me. This one was more interesting then anything else. The world made since.

I started book two but had to put it down but I hope I can finish it in the next couple of months. I really do love the writing and these books are so easy to read.
