I hate people who say Mad Max Fury Road is a crap movie because it has little plot. Did Die Hard have a complicated plot? Did Alien have a complicated plot? Did Terminator have a complicated plot? Fuck, did Mad Max 2 have a complicated plot? No. They all had simple plots, and they're considered some of the best action movie of all time.

Tommy Carr it's as stupid as mustang wanted or people who risk their lives for adrenaline, also if they do real stunts then it's not acting, acting is supposed to be all faked, but seem believable, realism is never a factor to making a movie, unless it's a biopic

Ok: The Avengers and Guardians are NOT action movies. They have action in it, but are not "action movies" they are Sci-Fy/Adventure/Space Opera flicks. And even if you are compelled to include an Avengers movie in the list, Age Of Ultron is far superior in the action department. Just saying.

It A. doesnt take place entirely in space (other planets arnt considered space. there planets). from what I remember, has little to no romance and/or love interest. Those are the main things that contribute to one. Gaurdians of the galaxy is a sci-fi action adventure that takes place on other worldy planets and involves little to no space. Dumbass

I think that avengers and guardians of the galaxy are more science fiction than real action movies. Kingsman, the dark knight rises or winter soldier should've taken their places in the list, but that's just my opinion.

Yet you have no problem with Edge of Tomorrow, Dredd, and Fury Road? Terminator 2 is science fiction, and hailed as one of the greatest action movies of all time. Same with Aliens, Predator, RoboCop, Total Recall, Demolition Man, Face/Off, The Matrix, etc...

I just have to say this, The action scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy were HORRIBLY shot
All the critics and the general public would disagree with you, you seem to be complaining for the sake of it.
I wouldn't say horrible but nothing special, especially compared to Kingsman.

The majority of the action scenes were shot too closely or to shakily. Very little concern for spatial awareness.
Which is also not helped by the movie's coke-binge pacing
Honestly, Winter Soldier should be higher than any of the marvel movies here, as it had the most realistic and fast-paced action of any of the marvel movies. Still mad that it's only an Honorable Mention whereas GotG was a good movie but the action was knowhere near as good as Winter Soldier.

winter soldier has one of the most predictable storys in movie history it just gives it away 10 minutes in and it just made it so boring

the raid films are among the best action films since hard boiled, only 10 people including myself saw it in theatres the night it premiered in corpus Christi and it was an experience I'll never forget, more people should be opened to foreign movies rather than letting Hollywood tell you what to see, the reason people didn't see this film is because they were watching captain America 2 and I loved that as well and it's one of the best Hollywood action films but the raid will truly deliver on ever note that an action film should.

Well if I compare them movie to movie Winter Soldier definitely wins. But if I compare action to action I give it to John Wick. I freaking love both of these movies but John Wick is more ruthless killer of beautiful choreography and Winter Soldier is more perfectly balanced masterpiece with great choreography as well as heart and purpose.

While Guardians of the Galaxy is awesome, I think Captain America: Winter Soldier should be in it's place and Guardians being a honorable mention. Mad Max was pretty weird but I can't lie, the action was awesome.
Also, Spectre looks like it's going to be a good movie! Me and my dad love Bond movies, I'm really hoping it is.

The Dark Knight Rises was a great comic book movie and an action movie. There was still action in The Dark Knight Rises, did people forget when he fought Bane twice, when we had that big crashing the plane sequence, when Banes mercernaries fought the cops on the street. When Batman was chasing the thugs on the bikes ect.
+91MoonKnight There was great GIGANTIC action set pieces but it's not focused on pure action. It's a gigantic character study/social commentary. All of Chris Nolan's movies are dramas IMO with sci-fi/comic book roots.

Sir Pharsys Guardians of the Galaxy. Cohesive plot, humor, character development, as well as amazing action.
Assailant I can give you that, id have guardians on 2nd. Still it is more sci-fi than action, and being more than half cgi where it matters ranks it below anything practical. Opinions may differ, but i see Guardians as a brilliant and witty film that established a not-well-known band of misfits, and even tough so far it is the best marvel film, I'd refuse to let my madness lose. Also i didnt see the Raids and Keanu Wick so far...might even rank Guardians lower...
Now you have to revise for Infinity War, Parabellium and End Game (the end fight makes it one of the best action movies ever) and at least honorably mention Deadpool.

Mad Max is great because it follows the style of the original movies as well as increasing the amount of action on screen. It's miraculous no one got died during the scenes and if you've seen the no-cg scenes, you'd agree. The plot isn't super heavy but it's not dialogue ridden either and understandably: the world is in bad shape and you need to survive. The story that existed was enough to give characters motivation in their choices and let the audience know their personality. The drama is living, not who wants to date who and the morality of why I need to kill this guy.

Not a bad list at all. Loved how the raid, John Wick, Skyfall were ranked above the overrated (in my opinion) Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. I think Mad Max is a bit over hyped but deserved a place on the list (maybe not first though). Was also glad to see HMs for Kingsman and Kickass. Good list watchmojo
