As a complete novice at working with gold leaf, I found this atricla extremely educational! Super finished product!
Thank you so much 😊
You did apply this tutorial to anything? I'm really interested to know the results of your endeavors.
If so what material do you apply it on?
Thank you so much Emma. It's a beautiful piece of art work. Very informative.
Great information and the step by step break down was perfect
Your video has inspired me. I'm newly retired and learning woodturning. I've already tried embellishing wood using acrylic gold paint and gold pens, but the real thing looks so much better, so my Amazon order is about to go in to get me started with gilding. Never thought I'd ever order a make-up brush 😅! Your other video "how to use gold leaf" was also very informative. Thanks for the videos.
That's great! Thanks so much for watching, I hope you're having a great time with gilding so far ☺
What a cool video! Makes me look around my house and see what I can add gold leaf to lol
Teeth 😂
Your gilding actually shows off the carvers work, rather than diminish it. Of course your skill in applying the Pete has made it happen x
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video x
Thank you! I didn't know how to use gold leaves until now :)
That's fantastic, love it and thanks for the information✌😃
I was somewhat doubtful of how well it would come out initially but DAMN GIRL you are UBER PRO!!!
That looks SUPERB!
I don't think I can afford this at the moment but THIS is what I want for my third woodworking project. I have designed a Dwarven anvil gift box for my cousin that I want to give a stone aesthetic texture to while giving the runic symbols and patterns some raised gold trim.
I also checked out your art page HOLY MOLY!!! Your portraits are ASTOUNDING! The thing I love about them is you use a lot of different styles.
You have INCREDIBLE talent lady!!!
You got a new subber! : ]
Aww wow thank you so much, that's so sweet ☺
Gorgeous!
Slick! I love it.
Wow it is so beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing. I am having my first go at doing it myself tonight
amazing! How did it go?
Nice video well done x
If you put a very small bit of talcum powder on your hands it helps to stop the gold leaf from sticking to your hands..
And you can top coat it with furniture wax...
It does look very beautiful 🎀
Oh that's great advice ☺ thank you so much! I will try that because I'm always getting bits of it on my hands.
EXCELLENT, VERY HELPFUL, CHEERS
This video is perfect! I am planning to silver leaf a little box I bought from the craft store. I was curious if I needed to do anything different for wood than other surfaces.
Btw, it just popped into my head. Have you thought about laminating it so as to protect against inevitable scratching and dust?
I would imagine having to clear that of dust might be scary after all that work!
I actually just use a spray duster, bit lazy I know but its does the job haha 😁
Nice. Thanks. I wish to make my home temple with wood carving and cover with gold
Oh wow! I'm sure it will look amazing 🤩
Each one teach one thanks
Beautiful work! Does gold leaf need to be sealed when it’s done, and also, does it flake off over time?
If you're using genuine gold leaf then it doesn't need to be sealed but if you're using imitation leaf or liquid leaf then it does need to be sealed. It shouldn't flake off over time if you've applied it correctly ☺
Hi, don't put warmish with hardener for safety
In other words, How durable is it?
If I put gold Leaf on somthing what will be handled often, Will it stand up to that?
I would suggest varnishing it if you will be handling it often. It should be fine if you have applied the gold leaf properly. You may want to replenish it now and again but it is quite durable
Thanks for sharing I want to know what base what liquid used by you its not available in India plese suggest name
try searching 'gold gilding paint'
