  • Hello and welcome back.... Let's have a brief tour through most of my Sindy collection, mainly focused on the Pedigree dolls, fashions and Scenesetters from the 1970s, including that huge and spectacular house from 1981! Hope you enjoy this, and please like, comment, share and subscribe to my channel for more great Dolly stuff!
(FYI: The song was actually the jingle used for all the American ads when Marx licensed Sindy over there. This actual song was slightly different as it used children's voices and was taken from a free vinyl record produced in Australia for Sindy back in 1978/79 for our Royal Easter Show ... I got one in a showbag back then with some other goodies, and always remembered it, (but as time went on, I thought my childhood nostalgia made it up?) until I found a replacement from a fellow collector a few years ago, who said she had it!!! 😉 It also includes a story of Sindy (with an Aussie accent!!!) flying back from London, where she was a prima ballerina with a company over there, and having a summer holiday at the beach with her friends, then she goes skating. LOL)

There was no Sindy in my country, but I would have loved her. Your collection is adorable ❤

Thanks so much for commenting! Yeah, we were lucky here in Australia back in the 70's as we had Barbie AND Sindy as well as Tuesday Taylor and other fashion dolls. There's nothing stopping you collecting her now! 😉

I had the 1984 Shaping Up Sindy💕 I loved her articulation over my Barbie's ... definitely got way more play time because of that. You have an amazing collection thank your for sharing.

Thanks so much for those kind words! Shaping Up Sindy was so cool! (I should get her, even though I don't have many 80's dolls in my collection.) I also loved my Sindys as a kid for their better quality and articulation, and for the fact that you could get her in other hair colours apart from the usual blonde. I had one with the most extraordinary ginger/whisky coloured hair that was not-quite-auburn/red and not-quite- golden brown, that I have never been able to find as an adult collector.

I like how sweet Sindy looks. She's somewhere between Licca and Barbie. I thought, at first, the song said "Unspecial friend"...but now i can discern they are singing "Own Special Friend." I only have a few Sindy dolls, and most of them are modern (like the one with the bendy hair, and the tiny half-sized Sindy dolls).

Yes, she does look sweet, doesn't she? She was basically the British version of Ideal's Tammy when she started out, who in turn was designed to be a sweeter looking, more 'wholesome' alternative to that teenage vixen Barbie. LOL (I LOVE that 'unspecial friend!' LOL)

Such a beautiful collection. Imagine that - a "full" house and fashion ensembles. Looks like toys had a different cultural value back then. The song, however, or rather the lyrics are a bit odd - at least from today's perspective.🤭

Oh my, that song really grates 😂I love everything about it until those kids start screeching. You have such an amazing Sindy collection. You know my fave! Did you like the Sindy outfit I made for Skipper? I am going to make her the skirt too one day.

LOL Yeah I wish that the record I took the song from used the American commercial version of that song, with an adult singing it! Oooohhh I don't think I filmed your fave (1972 pinkish-brown haired Lovely Lively in the paisley jumpsuit?) as I forgot to film the cabinet! I'm such a silly goose, but that video was a spur of the moment thing. I love the outfit you made for Skipper... I think it suits her better than Sindy, even! 🤩
