If I owned a lathe, I would never leave my house.
Owning a lathe and knowing how to safely operate one are completely different . As I found out the hard way . :)
You have to leave to go get wood
Zariad si to a neobanujes a neopustis nikdy svoj svet😊

@@toxictator4561bro don’t leave without telling us what happened man 👋🏽😳🤚🏽
You never disappoint my friend.

i’m glad your friend isn’t disappointed
@@joelsutton6707 lol. Took me a minute to catch that.

but it got you disappointed.?
As a non woodworker, I can only imagine that lathe is probably one of the most therapeutic tool to work with
cips tabağı
Unless your hair or shirt sleeve gets caught in it 😂
@@jrsmith3344😂😂😂
69 likes? Let me fix that.
A lathe is incredibly cool to watch being used, but the strain on your hands if you have to get involved with a hand tool fucking wrecks.
Watch = Therapeutic
Use = Will need therapy
Amazing work! Always wondered if you find a use for the sawdust? Lathe work generates so much, I figured there should be a cool use for it.
It can probably be recycled into ply or something
When you start running low on cereal, just fill the box back up with sawdust. Infinite food hack.
Mix it with a bit of candle wax and recycled paper, compress it, and you can make fire logs for free to heat your home, cook, heat water, etc. best to drill some holes in them to help them burn.
Probably could make mdf or you could sell it to pet stores for litter
@@ryanjohnson4565that actually happens
I had so much fun in 7th grade wood shop class, I took it as an elective my senior year, and the wood lathe was by far my favorite tool.
7th grade shop class and that was your senior year?
@@RalphRoberts1idk i think he meant he took it in year 7 and liked it so he did it until senior year
😊ओच्😊
@samiam830 Focus is more towards the stupid and the damage of schools reputation these days rather than the maturity and talented. Everythings become so PC.

Na, I'llmake you a bowl.

The grooved line would have looked better if you either sanded the black out of the indentations so that it was highlighting the peaks or sanded it off the peaks keeping the black in the grooves. As it is, the black hides the pretty grooves you made making it look like a flat black band.
Was exactly thinking about this, it looks like a black band
You see, people use bowls and not just look at them in a youtube short. So when using them, a person can see the indentations and the texture. It's a creative choice to not do something so obvious and lose all depth. But go off. Make one with your design choices.
@@itsgonnabeanaurfromme true. However, the choice he made was mostly for looks. That groove pattern doesn't do much for grip on the bowl. Even if it does help, there's still aesthetics to think about when making the choice. Aesthetics can be just as easily important as practicality to f design. This is an option example. The choice to burn the wood making a black band was purely aesthetic. The choice to grind those grooves was mostly aesthetic. I'm not saying to grind off a huge portion of the grooves either. I'm just saying that it would look better if he did one of 2 options that would highlight the grooves that he made.
@@ianbelletti6241sorry! They didn’t mean that people use the grooves for real reasons, they mean that when you own the bowl and are using it, it’s much clearer to be able to see the difference! They meant that it’s a small design choice that is visible when not viewed on camera! ❤❤
Yeah, and it looks stupid anyways.
Meu pai (quando ainda era vivo) gostava muito de fazer isso
Ficou bonito
That's some slick work there.
❤❤❤
I liked the flames effect as the scorching faded down the bowl
Yeah. I would have kept that part to design look. Maybe some blue, orange & red paint. Added flames.

that burnt wood accent line beautiful my friend
That's a crazy wobbly start.🥵
Ready to be put in any high end garage sale. 👍😏
Hhaha i know, looks like something i would find in my great grandmas house
The wood and the torch screaming😂😂😂
That slab of wood was oddly similar in size to a cheese wheel🤔
In other words you should try making a bowl out of cheese
Nah he should make cheese with the wood
Next challenge a wooden motar& pestle
Завораживает работа с деревом, красиво и эстетично!
It's beautiful 😍❤️
Great job 👍🏽
Love this sm, such a chill watch. Just a man working on some wood in silence
Gorgeous. What respirator are you using? Looks comfy.
Much appreciated! The respirator is linked in the description if you want to check it out :)
Absolutely beautiful... I wish I could purchase something like that
Beautiful wish I had one
mary me please
Very nice.. I like the burnt ring idea👍
Thank you, so good to see a usefull video on youtube
мучает вопрос: где найти кусок дерева такого размера, сухой и без трещин???
I have a question, just asking, would it be possible that instead of chipping off the wood completely, you carve out a smaller wood plate?
This is entirely possible
Woodturning is one of the most satisfying things to watch.
- How pretty your bowl. How much?
- 500 dollars.
About right.
I miss using the lathe in wood shop 🔥
Que lindo trabalho ❤❤❤❤
Wonderful piece! Thanks for sharing
Wood used-10%
Wood wasted-90%
Thats carpentry for you!
Though it could be reclaimed wood that would have been let to rot otherwise. And woodchips have a lot of other uses too.
Welcome to wood carving!
Bro that’s the only way to make anything concave, come complaining when you can show me a bowl-shaped tree.
Believe it or not carpentry/carving/turning requires cutting away material to get the required shape
Wow so suprising
What the hell was he gonna do otherwise? This is just carving, wood chips have other uses, so its not even wasted
The amount of cereal I would put in there is just simply.....
Not enough.
Hoggish!
@@ellenchristinemunson2768what can I say? I love cereal!
Lol. I usually go with small bowls in succession to avoid soggy cereal. Excluding people who prefer cereal soggy, I never know how people pour larger bowls while avoiding that issue. But maybe I'm just bad at it.
@@mariesummers. That's a good point. Soggy cereal is not ideal. I usually just is it really fast (I always pour large bowls).
And when you run out you can use the sawdust and it’ll taste the same as Cheerios
Beautiful work 👍
Wooden bowls, the bane of skyrim 😂😂
Це ж треба мати стільки терпіння і досвіду, щоб робити таку красу! Hi from Ukraine 👋
I’ve seen one like that at Salvation Army for half price…
Where does it say the price?

So much energy for one Bowl😂
BEAUTIFULLY DONE ❤
That looked great till you scorched it
The black stripe looks nice, what's wrong with it?
@@evahughes5192 it looks terrible
@@evahughes5192It looks bad, maybe black which fades slowly as it reaches the bottom but just a black strip is a no go.

Correct
Considering the title says making things complicated, I like how simple this is.
I imagine that is what it sounds like as you’re being abducted onto an alien aircraft
Haha
Un bel lavoro!

Wow that rly did get complicated qucikly
All I see is sheer immense JOY 💚💚💚 I love creating on a Bridgeport Lathe 😃
Beautiful & as a woodworker of pretty small & somewhat basic builds, that looks like so much fun. 😊
I knew exactly where you were going with that once I saw the ‘HKC’ on it. 😂
Nice bowl
I'll never complain about wooden bowl prices again ❤
I just seen the rpm? Voltage? Meter to make sure he doesn’t let the speed drop to decrease performance 👌
Watch when cutting off char he looks to go off that.
Gorgeous..wish I had your talent
Excellent job! Greetings from Venezuela
A perfect work, his technique is so good
I love the Ellsworth bowl gouge.
That PATIENCE… I could never… props🤙🏼
Bowled over. That's pretty neat 👌
Ya know I never have ever contemplated most youtube wood workers stuff but id buy that bowl
crazy how he makes so many of these
Not me thinking that was a big block of cheese at the start
You’re not alone
Oh...that very first move for the inside...so satisfying to watch!
And not too complicated 🤔 I could imagine worse😂
Beautiful work 👏 👌 😍 ty 4sharing ❤❤
Superb Work 😊
I thought you were making a wooden R2-D2 for a minute 😂
I recently got a chance to work on a lathe (I think its a TEQIP). It was so exciting ❤
i spent the last 10 years working in machine shops on lathes and bridgeports. lathes can be fun but sketchy as hell sometimes.
Beautifull job! ❤
Bruh, I thought it was a loaf a cheese for a sec 🌚
Beautiful craftsmanship
BRO WHAT THAT LOOKS BOMB
some of these would make sick samples
No burnish it, toast it, polish it, sheen it with resin, paint a design on it, run lightning through the wood, dye it, stain it, layer it with different wood and metals.
Beautiful work. I would so buy a beautiful bowl like that
Fantastic and professional
А бывали случаи когда заготовок вылетал ?
I like how instead of paint you used a blowtorch
Good job dude. !!!
