Living with uncertainty and "wearing anxiety like an uncomfortable coat" has helped me recover the most. Since you cannot speak to your amygdala or rationalize with it you have to "show" it that things are safe by simply living and doing while the alarms in your mind and body are going off.
So true
💯
Bless you , Nick! )) Thanks for another great video. Fear of fear is most likely the major driving factor in the cycle
In most cycles!
If you could give someone 3 tips to combat fear of fear, what would they be? How would you slowly dismantle it?
While daisy was sucking water, i thought someone maybe rat is there in my room 😂😂
I love this.
Good topic.
Is the fear of anxiety or never being able to sleep because of present anxiety similar to this? I just stumbled across this fear of fear recently and I believe it’s tied into my ocd
So….. how do we address the fear of fear of being stuck forever ?
Sorry I’m kinda dumb 😅
I just found your page! This is me. 😭. I always thought I just had anxiety but I started to recognize the fear of fear
Just found this Nick! This really helps me understand the point you made to a previous comment I asked. Thankyou
Is fear of licking your lips for ever part of Sensorimotor ocd?
Great video. Thanks Nick
I have been dealing with on and off all day long breathing issues, meaning mainly tightness of my chest, shortness of breath and hyper awareness of my length of breath. I have never dealt with this and have been learning its fear of fear, the fear of feeling the breathlessness and tightness. But I have a difficulty getting over the hump of dealing with it daily.
We have a sensorimotor webinar you may find helpful coming up! 📧 info@ocdrecovery.com
Can you do a video on blinking ocd
