You changed my life man. I live in America. I always just asked the universe for a mentor on how to teach me to be self sustainable, and stop depending on the system. I love nature, and I was afraid of buying these machines for farming. I thought they were necessary until you educated me and introduced me to the Jadam. You released all this information that is literally life changing... Alessandro you’re a saint man. No one usually just offers information without a price. I appreciate you changing the world and I just want to thank you for helping me start this journey. Working with nature to yield crops makes me feel so much better than working against it.
I'm American too and really got into gardening at the start of 2020 and just found Alessandro recently and loving his content especially how much he's doing in a small space. Some other channels you might enjoy that I learned a lot from was Self Sufficient Me and The Gardening Channel With James Prigioni. There is a ton of great free knowledge on youtube from other channels I'm forgetting as well I think a lot of people just want to share their passion and help others.
I started Ginger in a pot on my sill in January. It's already 4 feet tall and just started two more shoots. Such an easy plant! I will try to split it now that it has multiple shoots! Great video!
I once accidentally grew ginger. I bought a package of fresh ginger for cooking in a plastic tray with a film on top, took a piece and put the remains on the window, by the way, I have a mess on the window, the tray with ginger fell behind a stack of books and after 2 months I see I have something green sticking out behind the mess, and this is a sprout of ginger! I'm so freaking out! As a result, I put it in a pot, it grew very quickly until my cat ate it🥲
Thanks for sharing this, me and my dad have been growing ginger for about 2 years now and just move the pots inside in the winter. Trust me, this works incredibly well! When you harvest make sure to give some roots to folks around you Edit: rhizomes I mean of course haha
I did not notice any drainage in those containers. Before I plant, I want to make sure that I’m doing it properly. Thanks so much for all the knowledge that you’ve imparted to us. I have learned so much over the last year and a half watching your videos.
Ginger needs free draining soil so he might just be very careful with not overwatering if they don't have drainage, but if they do have it then it would be a pretty cool container that I've never seen before!
I've grown ginger for many years as an ornamental house plant - it's beautiful. I've always had to give it away, owing to cross-country moves. But growing it is dead easy. I'd like to try growing it like you do, so that I never have a shortage of this marvelous herb. However, I will always have some growing in my front room just because it's so beautiful.
I started growing a ginger rhizome about a month ago as an eatable ornamental plant for my office and smoothies. This morning I noticed my first two (!) shoots just coming up. I read to bury the rhizome just below the soil surface, much shallower than yours. I’d really appreciate a follow up video to see how these bins go! Thanks! Love your vodeos
Thank you so much for your feedback! It’s such an awesome feeling when you see the first shots!! I’ll post more updates on my Instagram profile and I might do a video follow up! Thank you for the idea 😊
The shared info is absolutely amazing and so well organized in the steps! Thank you. I am growing ginger for many years. The moat amazing thing is that the plant manages to have flowers. They are extremely beautiful and I really love the fresh specific smell of the plant. Thank you for your useful video! I hope that many people are going to see the beauty and health of this plant!
I jus saw you and your lovely Garden, on Gardens World, and just had to check you out on YT, and immediately subscribed. I have my own mini growing space not a garden but a communal tarmac space for our housing block. I’m growing as much as I can in Pots, Tubs and whatever i find, so happy to see you doing v similar to me!
Thanks again brother! Im on it as soon as i get to the store today! Your inspiration is much appreciated, i can only hope my garden is half as nice as yours this season! I grow cannabis, morning glories and rainbow chard like THE boss! Time to expand, I've just scored another (3rd) free greenhouse!!! Thanks Alessandro!
Thank you for the time and effort, you have allocated to this subject matter. It is rather intriguing! Your depth of knowledge, and explanations, are a delight to behold. I have certainly been able to fully comprehend your suggestions. And so, will embark upon the pursuit of growing, harvesting, and eventually, using the end product, to cook with. Grazie!
I'm going to start growing in Melbourne where it can get cold so I'll plant in containers to move them around to get best sun during colder months. Thanks for this video!
You can check out Hawaii University research paper about ginger & many other tropical plant. Its free from their website with detailed instruction from start to end. But you need to adjust depend on your local growing condition We (Indonesian) blessed with fertile soil but we lack in term of research & development to boost our harvest yield. Some "modern" farmer love to check Hawaii paper cus we have "similar" weather
Wonderful video. Super informative. And your timing is perfect! I have some ginger in a little plastic container from the store that’s started to sprout and wanted to plant it out.
Love the video, started a whole urban garden because of your channel! Do the pots need drainage holes for Ginger? Looks like you didn't have any. Can I plant ginger now?
Woah, I've never thought about doing this. So I can literally just buy some from a grocer's? You said that there are many species but just normal grocery ginger would be okay? Thanks for the video 😊
Yes, you can just buy it from the grocery store and grow it. There are many species but the most common is the one I mentioned and normal Ginger it’s absolutely good to grow! I’m really happy you liked the video and please let me know if you have any other question 😊
When I’m sick and have a bad cough, my mom makes her own ginger tea with fresh ginger, sweetens with honey and throws in some pine nuts. It’s all I want to drink when I’m sick
You said "garden soil" instead of potting soil. Are you adding the compost because the garden soil doesn't have as much nutrients as potting soil, or would you still add the compost to potting soil as well? BTW just finding your channel. New gardener, new subscriber! Thanks for being here!
You sir are a legend . You deserve so much more exposure . So much time wasted on the internet watching crap when there is gold like this …. Keep it up man . People like you are the hope for the next generation x x ❤
I'm growing ginger in my polytunnel and in the garden for the first time this year. When I harvest some of the rhizome in the autumn or winter, can I just plant the rest of it back in the ground until it starts growing again in spring/summer? Just worried the rhizome might not last a frost during winter ❄️
you are very knowledgeable but ive never understood the idea of using "sanitized/clean" tools when im about to put it in soil....ive never used "clean" tools and have a cloning rate of about 75-85% and can germinate at a minimum of 80%....just my 2 cents on it
Here are some amazing benefit of gigner 1.Mix with honey consume it in small amou and it will give relief from nausea and vomiting 2. Boil ginger with holy basil and clove mix khand or honey and your herbal green tea is ready do not add milk and sugar in it 3. Eating late at night and having difficulty in digesting food tak a small piece of ginger dip it in salt and eat before having dinner it will increase jathal Agni which increases digestive enzymes 4.having cough and haevy mucus take dried ginger also known as sonth keep in your mouth saliva mixed with dry ginger will aid cough and clear throat. 5 .if you're vegan and don't want to 🤕 hurt organism live in soil you can use its leaves ,flower 🌺 whole plant is edible ,if you're Jain you can use naturally dried ginger (ask your guru' for more ) consuming ginger during pregnancy is safe but it should be consumed in dry powdered form according to my expertise ask your doctor for more Although ginger have many benefits it should be consumed in moderation like 3 to 4 GM a day depend on your region and taste buds

Can you grow indoors in the winter too? Or bring indoors when the winter comes?
I agree. So many people give small parts of advice then want to charge. He goes above and beyond. I’ve already bought a dehydrator for certain things.

I’ve never tried to grow turmeric but I’ll give it a go!

Best part your video favorite friend new sport friend
I just planted a pea in my garden
I’ll turmeric be planted the same way. I have mine planted…(well, in a big pot😊)

Do your pots have drainage holes..
Yes, I forgot to show it in the video but I made some drainage holes
I’m going to tray growing ginger this year I think! 😅
I love your work and thought process, i want to buy your book, can i get the link?
So no holes in my container? Is that because of how you said to water? But IF I had holes in my container what would I do different? Ciao!
I applied some holes in my container. You could do the same exact thing either if you had drainage or not :)
Thanks! S0 informative but in a way that doesn't make my head hurt 🤣
Yayyy I found u on RUclips

5 .if you're vegan and don't want to 🤕 hurt organism live in soil you can use its leaves ,flower 🌺 whole plant is edible ,if you're Jain you can use naturally dried ginger (ask your guru' for more )
consuming ginger during pregnancy is safe but it should be consumed in dry powdered form according to my expertise ask your doctor for more
Although ginger have many benefits it should be consumed in moderation like 3 to 4 GM a day depend on your region and taste buds
