Now that was another superb interview, Dodge. The irony I keep seeing amongst your guests who have turned their lives around is they are invariably very intelligent and self aware, they have humility and ultimately find great solace in service. Mental health and self esteem are everything and if we paid a bit more attention to that rather than just vilifying people who had a less fortunate start to life, we might get somewhere. I’ve only got a couple of these left…crack on Dodge, who’s next? 😂
Brilliant comment, it does need action early on, but not this soft allowing way they are doing nowadays. Boundaries need to be there but you need big strong men to put their arms around some of these scallops early doors🇬🇧👊🏼
i've got a family member who's lived a life similar to several of your interviewee's, and often sat open-mouthed at his escapades. he's turned himself around now and is helping a lot of people heading down a similar path to his. i was banged up myself for a couple of years, aged 19 in chelmsford from 87'-89', and could have taken the road less travelled myself. i'm 55 now, and listening to your channel reminds me of how easy it would have been to have ended up doing a long bit or worse. thank you for what you do, fella. fair play. 👊
Ive had to get up early and come and finish this amazing story. You are amazing at your Job Dodge. Always asking the question at the right time and letting Ray tell his story without butting in, what a life he has had, Love that he has now found peace and enjoying life. wishing Ray every bit of happiness on his onward journey.
Only recently discovered your channel mate and yes i may have already seen some of these guests on other channels but i find your way of interviewing and questioning up there with the best. You genuinely seem interested compared to others. Great channel you have here 👌
What a lovely comment Mick and please give Kate my love too. Funny story Mick I last saw you at anchor and hope with Jimmy Lee and gumidge just before I embarked on my crazy journeys on the continent lol. Thank you for many a good night. Never forget the session you done at asylum. Great memories
Yes bro, each time I watch one of your videos and I think that is fantastic. The next one is even much better loving your channel loving you interviews top top class well done From the blind man
Awesome interview well done would love to sit down with Ray and talk about his life must have some crazy stories. Great to see his going in the right direction now.
Another awesome and intriguing interview. What very open and humble fella ray is. I like how he is turning his past into now helping other become educated and aware of how things can turn out in life. Nice one Dodge and Ray!!
Great podcast mate really enjoying them. but I'd really like to see you in the other seat and tell your story to have you done any I can watch thanks jasonn
The journey from the gutter to the pavement, not up a mountain. Shit! That hits hard! This was my fave so far from what I have seen, and I love them all. You have done so amazingly well to speak to these people, and showcase their movements from what they were doing to where they are now, which is super interesting to hear. I used to want to be a gangster when I was a lad and in my area I was 'in' with the faces, so I was well looked after. I was in a tiny town, amongst a few small towns, and I was 'Billy Big Bollocks'. I was never any of they guys you speak to though. I always wanted to be. These interviews highlight what lads my age aspired to be, but in actual fact, never wanted to have to deal with.
Great podcast Dodge and a big up to Ray, I can totally relate to what he’s saying having grown up in the east end of London and lived a life of crime until my late 20’s at which point practically all my friends were do long stretches inside I thought it was only a matter of time before I would be next on the list!!!! I came away from London and moved to Christchurch Dorset, which Dodge will be very familiar with given it’s 7 mins up the road from Bournemouth 7’s, and decided to try and get myself into university? Nearly 31 years later I now have a BA and a masters and have been a practicing social worker for best part of 25 years and specialise in working with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties!!!!! It’s all doable it just depends on how bad ya wanna get off the ride that is crime??? Good luck Ray with everything you do, sounds very positive and productive 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great interview, it's easy to see how our poor kids end up going down this road then not being able to get out of it. I imagine if he was born under different circumstances his life would be much different, seems a nice bloke now.
Lovely, straight up guy. Can't wait for the film. I agree with what he said about Charles Bronson. I wrote to him a couple of times and he was a true gentleman. I'd like to know his thoughts on Mr Bamber
Top fella is ray is trust me was on E-wing scrubs wiv him, he can narf ave a tear up💯 used to train on the pads on the yard or shud I say train on the slidders , good to see bruva u doing your thing on road now but time u was let out, stay save ave a blessed and beautiful life

This was quality Dodge really really good, enjoyed this one a lot,it does help having a great fella like Ray on though but still you did a proper job at interviewing Ray, you. should have started it by saying that you do not have to say anything but anything you do say can and will be used against you lol!! All the best Dodge love from London and Dublin X X

38:35 Interesting that he refers to some as reptiles.. I wonder if he knows about the actual reptilians, and lets just say their inter-connection with various ''things''..
Used to hand over a note saying give me the cash I’ve got a gun. 90% of the time it was only imitation, even used part of a Flute once. And yes I got caught eventually and done my time.

Great podcast Dodge as always - best in class. However, feel you should have called this guy out. Spent the whole interview giving excuses, and not really taking accountability for his choices. He didn't have it easy at all, however he chose to rob people who had would have likely faced the same difficult upbringing

The Bejam robbery which Ray is talking about featured on a episode of the TV show Flying Squad and was controversial at the time because it has footage of the body of the robber the police shot

Something very likeable about Ray Bishop. A great conversationalist with such an inspiring message. Great guest.

Fair play to the guy. It's a shame the system lets so many potentially good people never reach their potential just out of principle.
