Nice job , as i am looking to see a solution to my Onkyo Tx-Nr 727 which yesterday i noticed while trying and failing to power ON, No Relay Click, No Digital lights on Front Panel. Probably my grand child was switching on and off repeatedly might have caused this. I rarely used this device and worked fine 2 weeks ago when i used. However i am not an Electronic Tech though i know some basics and have soldiering tools. Need to know how to check NPN and PNP transistors functioning. i knew that Transistor have to be unplugged off the board by de-soldiering.
Check the 12 volts dc supply of the relay switch. Supply is coming from the secondary of the transformer. Also check the supply of the digital display.
I only checked the primary side of transformer just to see continuity of power cable showed, 116 volts AC, and did check for DC volts around power (button) board which had 3.7 volts, will try later to find out primary side voltage tomorrow in day time. Thanks@@melelectronics1862
Hello Sir, thanks for sharing this helpfull video : I have the same receiver and the exact same problem. I think the transistor to be changed is rather a C1740 one and not a C1470. I desoldered it and it is a SC1740 on the board and it is effectively open. The C1470 is a TO 3 transistor. I ordrered a SC 1470 and let you know if this works. Merci !
boss ask ko may power pero ayaw mag turn on ng display. nakastandby lang yung light off on lang pero ayaw mag click sa display. ano possible na problema boss.
Hey kicked my onkyo in the face plate now it has no power and on the faceplate, the digital display. It has a black mark about where I kicked. It is there any way I can bring this Beast back to life and yes, I know I shouldn't have done it. It's an old school onkyo i only run the old school s***

Check nyo po sa power supply pa din. Gaya ng ginawa ko. 12 volts is missing pa puntang relay switch.

Kahit may power may sira pa din sa power supply yan kse wlang display. check mo lhat na parts sa power supply.

Your digital display screen is damaged. Now a days it's hard to find that parts in the market.
