But in reality, it's probably a good thing that you havent seen one in person because the fire it usually too close for comfort if you're not a fire fighter (who should be close) and a tornado made of fire is really freaking creepy the first time you see a large one. I think with the carr fire it was probably just the first time a really large one occurred in a city where lots of people were around to see, rather than out in the outback or forest where wild fires used to be more often.
