It astounds me that you’re able to fix some of these! Major respect
Wow! It is unbelievable the kind of restoration magic you perform on these Jeeps. I'm cringing as you do the walkaround showing us the damage on these Jeeps and you just calmly describe it and attack the problem with great resolve. In my opinion, you are an advocate for the Jeeps, saving many Jeeps from the scrap metal pile. I learned a lot, some beautiful welding. Carry On Sir!
Glad they finally brought you the jeep,I feel safer knowing you fixed it correctly, would of been scared seeing that thing on roads while driving the way it was, great job and another quality video.
You do great work. I just got mine welded up from my bro in law. And yes mine had bottom rot like that top was great so my Jeep is good now. I like the Jeep videos you do. Gives me hope when I thought mine was toast
That is awesome!
Had watched the videos for months before taking the almost two hour ride to get it to the Jeep Whisperer. Im glad to see it was well worth the time and money. My step son saw the video and he is almost jumping out of his boots. It was my first Jeep purchase and i was not smart enough to look for such obvious damage. That will not happen again, but i will be looking for my own once he graduates. Love the Jeep, and really appreciate the saving of "OleYella".
My Pleasure! Should be good to go in the next couple days!
i guess im randomly asking but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?
I somehow lost my account password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Albert Rene instablaster =)
@@MorFabIndustries how much does a repair like this cost
MorFab, I never laughed so loud about a video!!! That is exactly the kind for work that a critter I gave my jeep to would do!! Before I had the work redone on mine, I observed that if 2 bolts came from a particular location he would only put in 1, if 3 bolts came from another location he would put back 2, 4 bolts would be replace with 2 and so forth. My dash was vibrating like heck because he did not secure it down with the hooks and bolts at the back towards the engine bay. That was a nightmare work done to that Jeep before it got to your place. I am sure the customer was extremely happy with your work. Keep up the good work. You have no idea how much us Jeepsters love our rigs!! The dealers in my neck of the wood thinks I've lost my mind relative to my 2001 TJ. Man I love that Jeep. I may end up coming to you in the future. Awesome work. First class repairs.
Thanks man! And yes I have seen some real hack jobs!
Nice Job Jason I'm looking forward to getting the my 41 Ford pickup and 56 Chevy to the shop for exhaust this spring . Love your craftsmanship !
Yes!! The Wrangler Whisperer is back at it! This one was wild!
Great video as always. Keep them coming
Wow....I saw the instagram stories and I thought "nah it won't be THAT bad" Glad I was wrong, this was a great video.
the pre fabbed body mounts are nice, those werent so bad but still they look really nice in there with all that new metal... then again you have to get the bolt out...
Nice job of fixing that frame. 👍
Holy S*&*, that frame is toast.
Nice save!
WiFi Welds !!! 🤣😂
Get video it’s crazy that thing was on the road like that !!!
Nice job!!! These are amazing to watch and learn. I've been considering a TJ to build with my son as well. We are in northern IL so same salt/grime to rot the frames. Any advice where to look for a starter with "good bones". Would Florida be ok or does the salt water air actually do damage? Thank you, enjoying your videos!
Good video.
That's awesome. Thank you sincerely for sharing, great work. What paint did you use for that under and over rust?
Please show the rear purchase restore..working through one now. Respect.
How about a video on the Olds in the back?
Nice job 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
😳 I would like to believe that the previously installed Saf-T-Caps were installed by Joe Mechanic in his driveway, having limited funds and no access to a welder.
But if that was done by a shop...shame.
Love watching the work man!
That’s incredible, I have a west coast tj that’s never seen salt in that condition I’d assume it’s time for the wrecker.
That's amazing work! What does something like that cost?
What gauge of metal are the frame kits made from ? But that is the second I have seen you do now and it looks cool . Nice work
Your work speaks for itself but I personally would have not saved that one
GREAT WORK on frame as usual ... YOU shouldn't leave that Torque box / body mount that way ITS dangerous and unsafe for the road incase of a accident . Just my 2 cents
The customer is going to handle all of the body work. I don't get into the body side of it very often.
You are a magician because of the frame was like that I bet the body itself is in the same or even worse condition. I would have taken it to the crusher. Big kudos to you, great job
I'm guessing that the cost of repairs would come close to the cost of a new frame. Swapping the frame would have been a good project
for the customer and the outcome would be worth the expense .
The cost of repair was literally half of the cost of a new frame alone. Never mind the labor to install a new frame.
Hell yeah!
Where do you get info and measurements on straightening the frame?
first time a saw a jeep like that my god ! 😆
At least the caps will be easy to remove 😂🤣🤣😫
With the safety cap installed, will a long arm bracket still fit over it?
That's the 🤪 craziest thing I've ever seen
Seeing videos like these make me come at peace of never owning a tj in my life.
If there’s a gap AFTER full replacement of frame (yes welded in, lol). But drives perfectly. Can it be straightened?
You got a backlog of jeeps? Ive got way less rot but want to be proactive 2002
Excellent video and awesome job. Out of curiosity how long does the caps and repair usually last? And because of your videos I now have frame drain holes.
If you take care of them they will last forever.
When you clean up, what’s left of, the original frame, any rust treatment applied so it does not continue to rust underneath the new frame parts ?
I fixing my jeep TJ but i see the differential is moved to one side and don't know why. can you give me some ideas what happened.
Nice brother i have a question how much it will be all the work you have done on that Jeep?$
If you live in the rust belt, hose that frame completely 4-5X a year, I’m talking inside and out, gotta get that road salt removed. Car wash “chassis bath” is useless, I hear they use recycled “contaminated” water, that is full of road salt from previous washes, which is no help, you need fresh, un contaminated water.
Hey I have a 94 Jeep Wrangler yj no power steering can I put power steering in and which direction can I go
Bahahaha invisible welds
I’ve got pretty much the exact same thing going on with my Jeep what does something like this cost to get fixed
Would it help to rino undercoat when new?
What's up with the Datsun?
Do you do toyota sequoias 1st gen too?
How much coast fix wrangler frame like this?
I wish you were next door my friend
very scary,,,,have you ever had one break in half and fall off the lift? seems like that could be a real risk
You can hear it making bad noises when you drop it
I need this guy to fix my frame rust were is your location
how much does it cost to replace a frame?
Forgive me if I've missed it, but with the vertically cracked and separating section of frame did you add any patch or strengthen on the top side of the tube ? Or just the plates on the sides tying everything back together above/along the bracket? Rewatching several times and reading through the comments I still cant seem to find my answer.
I am encountering a similar crack, but without nearly as much movement on my fiancé's 99 TJ near the rear trail arm bracket where the large factory cutout sits. Just trying to wrap my head around the frame damage, gain perspective, and contemplate our options.
Really appreciate your videos and commitment to repair over replace, keep doing this awesome work to keep the old beasts rolling down the trail!
Good morning! So the repair covers both sides and the bottom of the frame creating a U shaped repair. This repair extends all the way up the sides to within about 1/4” of the top of the frame. Usually if the crack extends above that last 1/4”, I will weld the crack itself or in extreme cases I’ll plate the top of the frame as well. I hope that helps!
How much does this cost? Thks
How much do you charge for repairs like this?
What do u charge per hour
Tengo un jeep 2000 que nesesito reparar donde puedo conectarme con esta persona que hase esta clase de reparations tan increibles
What is a safety cap
where are you located?
So when do we get a class action lawsuit going, my 99 rear stabilizers the top ones only , have broke loose the rest of the frame front to rear bumper is solid. We should not have to deal with the frame design problem
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Did u clean and reuse thr caps you removed.
no they were completely shot!
4 point zero!
Once these safety caps are installed and welded...are the Jeeps still able to pass DOT safety inspections? I assume that they are but does anyone know for sure?
I have done 4 that I confirmed passed NY state inspection, 2 That passed MASS safety, and 3 that have passed virginia inspections.
@@MorFabIndustries Thanks man. I appreciate the reply.
I was told this type of work shouldn't be done, because the heat of the cutting and welding will cause the parent metal to severely weaken. Is that true? And how strong is this repair as compared to the original factory strength when new?
That is true to some extent. It mostly applies to heavy duty C-Channel frames for larger trucks. Those are done by adding multiple layers of c-channel. In a light duty box style frame like the jeep, it's more than strong enough. The strength is actually increased due to the fact that the safetcap is larger overall than the factory frame.
@@MorFabIndustries thanks for the info. I'm happy to hear this. I have a ram and a Ford van that I need to touch up on. The fear of weakening the frame held me back. I wish I could find those safety caps for my vehicles tho. It would be a breeze. Thanks again and you do pretty good work.
Seems like a good donor frame would have been cheaper and stopped the rust.
A complete frame replacement would be very expensive. At least double what it costs to repair the frame in place.
That jeep has to be a northern vehicle
pretty sure the hood latches where all that was holding the front end on when you first picked it up. haha
He’s even leaking from the front axle
This is a project vehicle. The customer is going to continue the revitalization with his son. Its not done yet ;-)
I need a tetanus shot from watching this video. What a crazy job. Thanks for sharing this one.
what state are you in?
CT
@@MorFabIndustries makes since, figured it was somewhere that snowed a lot with all the damage. Hurts to see all the rotted jeeps on your channel. But you do a great job fixing them. 👏
@@fordman1776 thanks!
How is that car road legal with the chassis so rusted?
In most states they aren't. They won't pass a safety inspection. Once they are repaired, they pass right through safety.
How much did this cost I’m curious ? Cause I have the same exact jeep and a place in Connecticut wanted 10k to fix the frame I thought they were out of there minds !!!’
That is pretty high but seems to be the going rate for most shops. This one was right at $4500 if I remember correctly. I tend to be about half of what most shops charge. If you want more info, email me morfabindustries@gmail.com
Total neglect, no reason a frame should ever end up looking like that. That said, this guy even inspect it before he bought it?
Ugh....you can hear it...when you lift it......
Man...I wouldn't even stand under that thing.
Well that’s a rusty POS
