    Great looking ship. Finally someone who calls their ship a frigate (which is the largest shiptyp allowed currently in vanilla),
    rather than a battleship...

      Pet peeve of mine too LOL. Perfectly fine whatever people want to call their ships honestly, but yeah, in going with lore I saw in a loading screen- C-Class max size ships in the SF universe are considered Cruisers, but I decided on the Frigate designation because it's more in line imo with what a frigate does.

    it's cool that your glitched parts are really subtle. it would be cool if they make us merge two structural parts in the future before we attach them. I am gonna give this a shot. really like it!

      There is a way, from what I've seen others do... It's been called the Drop-down glitch. And it involves a bit more complicated maneuvering than the Flip glitch.
      I personally haven't been able to get it to work properly, although I play on console so maybe that's the difference.
      But if you search for it, there are several builders out there that have shown how to do it.
      One example that I've seen but can't replicate yet, is the Grav Drive & Reactor merge. It's a great help for compacting builds but I can get it to stick as I always end up with "parts not attached " error.

    • @CMDREagle131
      @CMDREagle131  9 месяцев назад

      @@williamludwick77Ah interesting, I haven't heard of this technique! I will have to take a look thanks!!! I'm just venturing a guess for your reactor merge, that the item you're trying to glitch in is likely not attaching to the correct point as I've had that happen several times when doing the flip glitch. Again, not 100% since I don't know how the drop-down glitch works.

    Thanks for the build guide, I really love the design and the guide was very clear and easy to follow. Only took an hour or so (including a hop back to Deimos because I didn't get all the parts first time round!). This is a nice, gigantic addition to my fleet!

      I'm glad it worked out for you! Enjoy the ship! Back to Deimos eh? I take it you decided to go with some of those Deimos 2x2 habs? I originally had the Deimos 2x2 engineering bay on the bottom floor but i had a heck of a time getting the door to connect to the 1x1 stack!!!

    First off, love the ship and I’m trying to build it as well since I’m new to shipbuilding in star field. I do have a question for you and the star field community, how do I buy individual ship modules and did you use a model to start out with?

    • @CMDREagle131
      @CMDREagle131  Месяц назад

      Sorry for the late reply. If you haven't figured it out already, you just use the ship you're planning on using to build the Decatur on. Just go around to the different staryards and slap on the staryard specific modules, then haul it all back to your outpost builder. Will need to be flight ready too of course.

    Great build looks good going to give it a build in my game. I might change one thing add some turrets to the top as I feel a frigate whilst not have then as primary guns would have some as point defence etc.

    • @CMDREagle131
      @CMDREagle131  9 месяцев назад +1

      Originally there were two turrets in the top. I ended up removing them from my build because I wanted to listen to the Vanguard machine guns going off instead 🤣🤣🤣

    • @CMDREagle131
      @CMDREagle131  9 месяцев назад

      Hmm well the forward cannon does most of the killing and the Vanguard guns were just sorta there as an extra. I could probably remove them and place autocannon on turrets on there next time...thats a good thought. Used to have Particle Beam turrets on the too before I removed them.

      Made the build added 2 front facing and 2 rear facing turrets which work nicely so that whilst im getting the front alignment to unleash the full furry of the front beams 😀

    First of all, I LOVE Your ship builds! Really well crafted.
    ... but, big C Class warships is not frigates. Frigates is small and nimble crafts, big C Class ships are more like battlecrusiers or battleships (or even capital), with cruisers and destroyers in between ... in my humble opinion (old Celestial Horizon capsuleer).

    • @CMDREagle131
      @CMDREagle131  8 месяцев назад +1

      I'd argue that in one of the flavor tool tips during a loading screen, I read that in the starfield universe c class ships can be considered cruisers. And since I didn't really want to go full on with the "battleship" theme, and considering that we have M-class ships that are considered basically battleships, I opted to go for a frigate tag because compared against the M class naval warships, C class are quite small and nimble :)
      Appreciate the thought and the comment though. So many just throw ship tags out there without much thought. Glad you enjoy these builds!

    pretty, but with so much dead mass it must be a brick when flying

    • @CMDREagle131
      @CMDREagle131  9 месяцев назад

      My ships tend to be on the heavier side lol. The 4 engines in the back provide decent maneuverability, i think it should be about 40-50. But if I fly a big ship, I do like to have it feel like a big ship. I never had too many problems with how it handled, however that could be due to me just being used to ships with 19 maneuverability LOL

  • @ronwalker852
    @ronwalker852 9 месяцев назад +1

    Hi, great video, I built this almost identically but with different engines and some preferential things and it’s 1 meter to long. 😢. Trying to figure out how. I used the Sal 6830s and they are the same size as the engines you used

    • @CMDREagle131
      @CMDREagle131  9 месяцев назад +1

      the game seems to round up the length, so if those engines are a few CMs too much longer, then the game will just call it a whole meter lol.
      also check up front too, adding anything lengthwise to the front will cause the 41M length too.

    • @Stuntsnik11
      @Stuntsnik11 9 месяцев назад +1

      The SALs are a little longer than other engines. It sucks.

    • @Stuntsnik11
      @Stuntsnik11 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@CMDREagle131 Unless you are making room for 6 SALs, its probably not worth trying to squeeze them in. There are better PWR 3 engines that fit and DON'T require a redesign.

      Hey there! The Decatur-Class, according to my in game menu, has a value of about 397,255cr. We're running max modules across some expensive hardware, so I am sure if money is a concern you could probably bump down that price a bit. Hope that helps!
