    Starfield is a really bad game to use for benching. As bethesda optimization has been historically bad and this game is no other. Besides this, no one actually plays it, except for some youtubers benching. Also there must be a mounting problem if the hotspot is like 20 degrees above gpu core temp. And 85 on the core is crazy also.

      to be fair this is the worst 3070 on thermals i have.

    How did you get 85 degrees on an RTX 3070? I am on a 3070 Ti and it's a Zotac Trinity model, so not even particularly that good of a cooler and that card reaches about 75 degrees on full load, even though it consumes close to 300 watts.

      i have a few more and some are really great with temps. this is the most inefficient.

    how do you only get 5 gb of vram usage on rt ultra in cyberpunk
    i have a 3070 also and i run out of vram and drop frames at 1080p with dlss

      I think it's because of the CPU. I was maxing everything to see the limits.

    You have to be careful when trying to enforce a CPU bottleneck into games while doing things like this because it is easy to just say "the cpu isnt strong enough" or "there must be a problem with the threads".
    If you are playing a game that would normally use all the cores and threads of a somewhat recent CPU (something like a 3600 or 5600) yet you are finding that an older CPU with less threads is not getting worked as hard that probably means there is a limitation elsewhere. Something like RAM speed, PCI-E speed, heck even cache on the CPU can be a bottleneck to not allow the threads to run at 100% usage.

      Except the Xeon E5 1650 v4 isn't a recent cpu it came out in 2016 and yes I do think it was bottlenecking his RTX 3070 because even though the cpu wasn't maxed out at 100 percent and all cores weren't in use the RTX 3070 wasn't fully utilized. Also keep in mind that a lot of games like fast single cores and modern games aren't likely to max out all cores and threads. The few times I've seen games max out a cpu at 100 percent usage was on dual core and some quad/hexa core cpu's with 4/6 cores and 4/6 threads.

    • @DanielCardei
      @DanielCardei  3 месяца назад

      True. This all leads to one question. Do you think that e5-2699v3 or v4 will reduce the cpu bottleneck?

    • @LiquidSnake690
      @LiquidSnake690 3 месяца назад

      @@DanielCardei The Intel Xeon E5-2699 v3 could also bottleneck the RTX 3070 in games because it has a slow clock speed and its an older cpu. Single core speed and cache tend to matter more than how many cores and threads a cpu has unless you're multitasking, video editing or doing productivity work.

      @@DanielCardei Cores and threads do matter if you enable raytracing and pathtracing because those graphics settings do use more cores and threads. Raytracing and Pathtracing tend to be both cpu and gpu intensive graphical settings.

    • @LiquidSnake690
      @LiquidSnake690 3 месяца назад

      Actually the reason most games don't use all cores and threads isn't because of cache its because the game engines were designed to take advantage of a single fast core leaving the rest of the cores and threads unused. Even when games run better on cpu's with more cache even those games don't utilize all the cores and threads. Techtubers like hardware unboxed have even demonstrated this.

    Your Intel Xeon E5 1650 v4 was still bottlenecking your RTX 3070 even after you enabled FSR 3 frame generation.

    • @DanielCardei
      @DanielCardei  3 месяца назад

      The only thing I manage to do is to add more load to the GPU and that's not the solution. I mean this is what I wanted to be fair. To gut the cpu and see it's limits. Older GPUs In SLI and Crossfire won't do this.

    • @LiquidSnake690
      @LiquidSnake690 3 месяца назад

      @@DanielCardei You're right the Intel Xeon E5 1650 v4 is less likely to bottleneck older gpu's in sli and crossfire.

    • @LiquidSnake690
      @LiquidSnake690 3 месяца назад

      @@DanielCardei Actually you added more load onto the cpu since frame generation increases framerate which in turn makes the cpu work harder to prepare more frames for the gpu. Remember lower resolutions and higher framerate increases load on the cpu because the cpu has to work harder to prepare frames for the gpu. When the cpu is too slow then the gpu is waiting around for the cpu to prepare new frames for it.

    Any particular reason why you got e5 1650v4 ? Why not the 2699v3 it's only 40eur on aliexpress, with TU mod it will hit 3.6ghz all core + massive massive L3 Cache only saving x99 cpu's. Or atleast i7 6950x at 4.3ghz would be nice to have, however it's far more expensive sadly for name only
