I'm sure they are a wider release. They'll also release on Amazon websites in the EU and UK so they're definitely more accessible than first thought. I do feel for our collector friends in other continents though..
I don't think the Mean Girls collab should be limited. A wide release would probably do really well. I know as a Canadian fan trying to get the set is going to be an absolute nightmare so I'm not even going to try. Maybe if these are a hit, they will do a second wave that has a broader release with different outfits.
It's like they're catering to the scalper market with this one. I anticipate the launches will be an actual nightmare for any non-bots trying to acquire one.

So far, four of the Monster High Skullector dolls are available from various retailers online I know that isn’t going to be the case for the Mean Girls dolls because of what happened with the Kylie dolls and those Rainbow High masquerade dolls, which is sad because a lot of people want those dolls but cannot get them because they aren’t American

I saw the integrity doll line and I sigh knowing they're out of reach for me but I got the 2 pack Mind games (Minx/ Rapture) so I hope to get at least the Beat this (Aja/Shana) and she makes an impression (Kimber/Raya) but with the new doll line hopefully it will renew interest in the IP and we get another release of the full set of dolls 😭

I'm not even done with the video but I LOVE your fox sweater. My jaw DROPPED at 18th century barbie. I love historical fashion and the 1700s are one of my favorite eras. So well executed. I'm not a big barbie collector but she's perfect.
I love her hair and makeup (especially that shade of pink hair, I love when people acknowledge the dyed hair trend). I was a little bit disappointed that they didn't go full Marie Antoinette with the dress, and I haven't seen a side view of the shoes. It'd be really cool if the shoes had a historically accurate heel shape. I probably won't be buying her, considering how nitpicky my brain can be. Also highly detailed reproductions of 18th century shoes can go for a similar price (American duchess has a pair on sale right now for 110 USD).
I'm a hocus pocus fan, but come on. moster high did not do well with these dolls. they look like a cheep play line set. check out what disney did with these dolls, we got binx, book and they all had broom stick. moster high didn't even bother making Mary look like Mary, with her mouth. sadly this could have been such an iconic set, but it totally flops.
my opinion is that i think its better getting the monster high hocus pocus because most people will not buy 3 dolls that cost $125 each from disney instead of getting them for $130 for all 3 from MH
@@loser_rairiiii i did ! and i even got an extra set, to keep in boxes. these dolls is so movie accurate and comes with so much accessorise, and they even made a full body for Mary. watching the disney hocus pocus doll up close, makes sense, when they write limited edition. there are so many littel details, from the costume, to the mold. to the hair style, it's just breath taking. but i guess it all comes down quality, and that's oki, if you can settle with monster high.
I would love to see a “collection video,” like you showing off your entire collection of a single doll line, like Monster High, or LOL OMG Dolls! I like when people who aren’t “completionists” show off their collections, because they tend to show off more of their own personality and style, by the dolls those chose to collect. (For example, I really love dolls with teal hair. I probably collect every aqua-haired dollie I see, just because I love the look so much, but even though I have affinity for a certain hair color or style they’re usually from specific lines, or brands, like MGA dolls with teal/aqua blue/green hair.)
I feel like poor Harley's costumes have been really ughhh ever since they stopped using her classic one. I know why they changed it, and I do like it in theory as a way to show she's moving on to becoming her own character apart from the jonkerrrrrr, but I feel like they're always so busy (and the shades of blue and red they use are always kind of ugly together). I do love this Harley's stockings and shoes though, those are really cute.
I agree. I like the Jester look she always had, now she wears normal clothes with her color scheme. The best alternative to her original is the Lego Batman ones, the tu tu makes her stand out

Mattel no longer ships to me so I bought that Odile barbie in pieces. I was lucky to actually choose a really good head cause most of the others I've seen online are VERY wonky. And I skipped most of her accessories and just went for the dress and earrings + shoes. No regrets, I basically paid a little less that what it would have cost me anyway had I bought her from Mattel creations and for me it was worth it to choose a good face. Finally I can have an Odile without pixel face!
Those were leaked images and Mattel isn't afraid in going after accounts that are posting unauthorized photos of their products especially Barbie. The best thing to do is to wait for it's official release.
Love that they're bringing back Jem ! I was excited as soon as I saw the thumbnail for this video. The Eartha Kitt doll looks AMAZING I love that they've made a doll of her. Too bad it's already rare and expensive. Also thought it was interesting seeing a Barbie release of Harley Quinn since prior to Barbie she was Margot Robbie's most famous character. A little interesting synergy there. Great video it was fun.

I've seen collectors that will buy a new doll from their favorite brand--like barbie or American girl--no matter the price or if they like it, they just have to "have them all." I love that you only collect the ones you love
I know that the DC Comics is just a collaboration and, as such, they would just release either a couple or the most recognizable female characters in the Batman universe but at the very least include Catwoman and make the entire Gotham City Sirens. Also, there are: Batgirl, Batwoman, Huntress, Black Canary, Punchline, Talia Al Ghul, Phantasm...They could make this a start and every upcoming year release a couple until all or most are done. They are very well known characters and not that many.
Since it's also Barbie's 65th anniversary, they missed an opportunity to release a Batman doll in his pink Batsuit which actually did happen in the comics.

I'm a box collector and when I tell you I'm thinking of getting a second Pink Premiere Barbie just to unbox! She is super gorgeous. Also,with Poison Ivy,I anticipated the release all year and her outfit was a HUGE let down. However,her face and hair saved it from me passing on her completely. I got her due to my love for Poison Ivy,and with the fact that Harley Quinn sold out.
The Noonoouri doll herself looks... fine, I guess, or at least matching that bland, big-eyed, overly smooth look of the original art. The accompanying Barbie looks *terrified.*
I managed to get one of those Eartha Kitt dolls - I don’t pay a huge amount of attention to IT and just happened to catch her as soon as the promo photos released. I loved her as catwoman on the old TV show; she was always my favorite catwoman!
I think Barbie is making an interesting move. I can see in retrospect now that the Barbie Movie was to send the message of "yes Barbie still cares about the 'girl next door' but is going back to her hyper feminine super fashionista model phase" which I think is interesting because I feel like the last few decades at least that Barbie's brand has been to promote Barbie as a literal aspirational role model for young girls in a way that conservative moms find realistic and appropriate, hence the lines like common careers and more toned back fashion. Now it feels like Barbie wants to back track to just being pure fashion model again since (big surprise) new, creative, and innovative fashion is still what's selling best on the market and Barbie is facing steep competition. No hate to a more toned back and realistic look or to returning to hyper feminine creative fashion, it's what I love about fashion dolls and what I used to love about Barbie when I was a kid, but I think it's weird to see Barbie yo-yo between focuses and themes when Mattel realizes she doesn't currently have a strangle hold on the fashion doll market. Where are Barbie's true values and ideals? Money. (Idk if my mini rant makes sense 🤷🏻)
it actually does bother me how monster high gets all the cool halloween classic character tie in dolls. I really don't like those sanderson sisters dolls, to be honest. It's too monster high and not enough hocus pocus, the thin skeletal look of the dolls doesn't translate well to representing three old fat hags at all. Like, if they're not gonna look old and chubby what's the point? they're not the sanderson sisters to me.
The Barbie in the black and pink mermaid dress (with up-do) is beautiful! Classic look. And the Barbie you like with the long blond hair-very nice. I was surprised that the Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy were so nice, their faces are adorable. I absolutely love Monster highs but can get onboard with the Sanderson sisters. They're witches! Have fun with that-make their outfits like the movie but with a little pop say in the shoe color and the accessories. Witch hats? Yes! And how about that "book" for one, a cauldron for another and a potion bottle for the dizzy blond. Give them brooms (or whatever they fly.) They cost a frigging mint-give us something here-make it "cute".

I've literally never consumed Jem and the Holograms media in my life, but even having seen her in the thumbnail I STILL got chills when you announced her. She's an Icon, a Legend. And I'm soooooo glad they're giving her some time to shine instead of letting her be forgotten. In this era of constantly revitalizing brands, it's good to see the older, more-out-of-the-public-consciousness brands getting some time to shine instead of stuff that's arguably still in their heydays. Way to go Jem!!!! 4. Eugh, those plastic Hocus Pocus accessories. Big, bulky, bland. Seriously, if you're going to expect that much money for a doll, at least give her proper accessories instead of that cheap crap. One of the biggest turn-offs a doll can have for me 5. It is so weird to see Bratz dolls be so dolled up in pink and preppy clothes lol 😆 They look pretty, though! Fabrics look promising in quality too. Glad the Mean Girls fans are (mostly) happy with these dolls 😊

I get why the bratz mean girls collab is limited but at the same time they’re alienating a lot of potential customers. I definitely would have brought one if I saw it at my local stores but if I have to go against other people and scalpers then I’m not gonna bother. Also seeing Barbie collab with a virtual influencer gives me hope one day we’ll get a Hatsune Miku doll, honestly I don’t even mind if it’s not Barbie I just really want more budget friendly vocaloid dolls. Dollfie and Pullip are beautiful but crazy expensive, I could see them collaborating with Rainbow High or bratz. The best case scenario for me would be just their own dolls but I doubt we’d get that for a long time.
I would die if Mattel did a Hatsune Miku Barbie. She's a virtual pop star. I collect anime figures in addition to dolls and Miku figures are always so beautiful and cute. The Noonoori dolls are interesting but I won't get them.

The reason it took a year after the Barbie Movie for Mattel to release all these Barbie core dolls is because it takes a year to develop and produce dolls and prior to the huge hype for Barbie with the movie, Mattel did not care at all about Barbie. They had no plans to do her right until they finally started paying attention to all the chatter from Barbie fans with the movie hype. They have so much merch coming out way later than the movie because they didn't expect the movie to do so well. They just wanted to put in the least amount of effort and quality and let the name sell their crappy products and it showed. Super glad some sense finally got knocked into them. They were letting other doll companies walk all over Barbie these last few years. I love the style of the new deluxe Fashionistas, but the weird felt fabric was definitely not the choice I would make for her clothes. I did get the Gala doll though. She's absolutely gorgeous. I'm pretty interested in the Tribute to Fashion, but I'll wait for one I like more. Actually, I'm more interested in the BFMC, but so far the outfits haven't been a big enough draw to drop that kinda money. I'm hoping for pastels in the next one. I think the Eartha Kitt doll is super cool and I really want Integrity Toys to make more big cats for their dolls. I want a snow leopard. While waiting for Mattel to release better looking dolls, I got into IT and now have started a little collection. Mean Girls is far more iconic than the K family so I'm not sure why they don't just do the reverse and have the Kylie dolls in a limited amount and Mean Girls as a general release. Doesn't make sense to me.
I don't buy the expensive dolls because I really don't have the money. But I love watching videos like this just to see what's coming. I like to buy 80s and 90s Barbies at Goodwill and fix them up. I'm neutral on the hocus pocus skullector, I think the In Hand pictures will make or break them bc the stock photo feels odd. I think this is the first time there isn't a doll in the lot that I would buy/have bought. The Jem doll is the one possibility from the group, because childhood nostalgia, but I want to see more of the doll first. She's got a Jerrica outfit with her, but it doesn't look like there's a way to change the makeup? I like the Mean GIrls/Bratz collab, but I'm not a Bratz girlie, and I've never seen Mean Girls, so they don't call to me the way they would if I were or had. I like Hocus Pocus, but not enough to buy a set of dolls, even if they're Monster High. I want more G3 playline dolls of characters that don't have dolls yet. I think the next few hinted at Skullectors will be passes for me - M3GAN, Us. I want to see the Beetlejuice dolls that are rumored before I make a decision on them (and see the new movie as well). I like the original Skullectors of Beetlejuice and Lydia - I think they captured the vibe perfectly. I'm surprised they're going for a repeat skullector at all when there are so many properties they could try to work with.
If you love dc, id love to see a video on the different dc dolls they've done! I had the playline poison ivy and supergirl dolls when I was little, and just got my grain collector's Batgirl doll. Black Canary was amazing as well
I like the virtual influencer, i think. It seems to be a group of people coming together to create a character who happens to be an Internet personality. Maybe inspired by virtual idols like hatsune miku (our lord, savior and president of the United States)
Mattel doing Barbiecore one year after is a direct effect of the positive reception of the aesthetic from the Barbie movie. It had to happen to enact change. Product design and going to market really does take a year. Mattel doesn’t take a lot of creative risks which is understandable. They were already taking a considerable amount with the movie.
True enough. It's just that the hype for the Barbie movie-- as well as the Barbiecore trend-- started well before the movie's release. We had plenty of brand collabs that were pink and sparkly and glamorous, but it was never reflected in the actual doll line until now despite clear public approval of the traditional Barbie aesthetic.
@@DarlingDollz I think they had to wait and see if the bigger risk (the movie) would pay off before they can scale up with the play line. Barbie Extra lived and died because the demand did not match the moment.
Maybe I'm alone in this, but I would love if they would bring back the Lady Lovely Locks dolls. I would be just as excited as I am about the new Jem dolls coming out next year.

Honestly? I was thinking about Harley and Ivy back when I thought they would be upper end play lines I could get at a box store for more like 30 to 35 each. Price and online killed my enthusiasm. And I agree with the paint on the Sandersons, plus printed on bright fabric doesn't quite fit.

My jaw DROPPED at 18th century barbie. I love historical fashion and the 1700s are one of my favorite eras. So well executed. I'm not a big barbie collector but she's perfect.
I love her hair and makeup (especially that shade of pink hair, I love when people acknowledge the dyed hair trend). I was a little bit disappointed that they didn't go full Marie Antoinette with the dress, and I haven't seen a side view of the shoes. It'd be really cool if the shoes had a historically accurate heel shape. I probably won't be buying her, considering how nitpicky my brain can be. Also highly detailed reproductions of 18th century shoes can go for a similar price (American duchess has a pair on sale right now for 110 USD).
I'm a hocus pocus fan, but come on. moster high did not do well with these dolls. they look like a cheep play line set. check out what disney did with these dolls, we got binx, book and they all had broom stick. moster high didn't even bother making Mary look like Mary, with her mouth. sadly this could have been such an iconic set, but it totally flops.

@@loser_rairiiii i did ! and i even got an extra set, to keep in boxes. these dolls is so movie accurate and comes with so much accessorise, and they even made a full body for Mary. watching the disney hocus pocus doll up close, makes sense, when they write limited edition. there are so many littel details, from the costume, to the mold. to the hair style, it's just breath taking. but i guess it all comes down quality, and that's oki, if you can settle with monster high.

I would love to see a “collection video,” like you showing off your entire collection of a single doll line, like Monster High, or LOL OMG Dolls! I like when people who aren’t “completionists” show off their collections, because they tend to show off more of their own personality and style, by the dolls those chose to collect. (For example, I really love dolls with teal hair. I probably collect every aqua-haired dollie I see, just because I love the look so much, but even though I have affinity for a certain hair color or style they’re usually from specific lines, or brands, like MGA dolls with teal/aqua blue/green hair.)

I feel like poor Harley's costumes have been really ughhh ever since they stopped using her classic one. I know why they changed it, and I do like it in theory as a way to show she's moving on to becoming her own character apart from the jonkerrrrrr, but I feel like they're always so busy (and the shades of blue and red they use are always kind of ugly together).

Mattel no longer ships to me so I bought that Odile barbie in pieces. I was lucky to actually choose a really good head cause most of the others I've seen online are VERY wonky. And I skipped most of her accessories and just went for the dress and earrings + shoes. No regrets, I basically paid a little less that what it would have cost me anyway had I bought her from Mattel creations and for me it was worth it to choose a good face. Finally I can have an Odile without pixel face!

Those were leaked images and Mattel isn't afraid in going after accounts that are posting unauthorized photos of their products especially Barbie. The best thing to do is to wait for it's official release.
Love that they're bringing back Jem ! I was excited as soon as I saw the thumbnail for this video. The Eartha Kitt doll looks AMAZING I love that they've made a doll of her. Too bad it's already rare and expensive. Also thought it was interesting seeing a Barbie release of Harley Quinn since prior to Barbie she was Margot Robbie's most famous character. A little interesting synergy there. Great video it was fun.

I'm so happy you're a collector that respects your interests and your pocket book. I've seen collectors that will buy a new doll from their favorite brand--like barbie or American girl--no matter the price or if they like it, they just have to "have them all." I love that you only collect the ones you love
I know that the DC Comics is just a collaboration and, as such, they would just release either a couple or the most recognizable female characters in the Batman universe but at the very least include Catwoman and make the entire Gotham City Sirens.
Also, there are: Batgirl, Batwoman, Huntress, Black Canary, Punchline, Talia Al Ghul, Phantasm...They could make this a start and every upcoming year release a couple until all or most are done. They are very well known characters and not that many.
Since it's also Barbie's 65th anniversary, they missed an opportunity to release a Batman doll in his pink Batsuit which actually did happen in the comics.

That pink costume was from an old comic where Batman dresses in different color costumes with pink being one of them. DC and Mattel released the entire set once and so did Funko.

I lOve the mean girls collab and the pink t-shirt is iconic, but it does feel like you’re getting less for your money with Cady, even her second outfit is just a dress when the plastics all have multiple pieces (headbands etc) to go with their costumes.

as someone who loved jem as a child, i intend to buy all of the repros that are released as soon as humanly possible 😭 i had (still have in a box … somewhere!) a later release jem doll that came with a different outfit, so even if it’s just jem in her signature outfit, i will be thrilled. (really hoping it’s a whole line though!)

I'm a box collector and when I tell you I'm thinking of getting a second Pink Premiere Barbie just to unbox! She is super gorgeous. Also,with Poison Ivy,I anticipated the release all year and her outfit was a HUGE let down. However,her face and hair saved it from me passing on her completely. I got her due to my love for Poison Ivy,and with the fact that Harley Quinn sold out.
The Noonoouri doll herself looks... fine, I guess, or at least matching that bland, big-eyed, overly smooth look of the original art. The accompanying Barbie looks *terrified.*
I managed to get one of those Eartha Kitt dolls - I don’t pay a huge amount of attention to IT and just happened to catch her as soon as the promo photos released. I loved her as catwoman on the old TV show; she was always my favorite catwoman!

I think Barbie is making an interesting move. I can see in retrospect now that the Barbie Movie was to send the message of "yes Barbie still cares about the 'girl next door' but is going back to her hyper feminine super fashionista model phase" which I think is interesting because I feel like the last few decades at least that Barbie's brand has been to promote Barbie as a literal aspirational role model for young girls in a way that conservative moms find realistic and appropriate, hence the lines like common careers and more toned back fashion. Now it feels like Barbie wants to back track to just being pure fashion model again since (big surprise) new, creative, and innovative fashion is still what's selling best on the market and Barbie is facing steep competition. No hate to a more toned back and realistic look or to returning to hyper feminine creative fashion, it's what I love about fashion dolls and what I used to love about Barbie when I was a kid, but I think it's weird to see Barbie yo-yo between focuses and themes when Mattel realizes she doesn't currently have a strangle hold on the fashion doll market. Where are Barbie's true values and ideals? Money.

it actually does bother me how monster high gets all the cool halloween classic character tie in dolls. I really don't like those sanderson sisters dolls, to be honest. It's too monster high and not enough hocus pocus, the thin skeletal look of the dolls doesn't translate well to representing three old fat hags at all. Like, if they're not gonna look old and chubby what's the point? they're not the sanderson sisters to me.
The Barbie in the black and pink mermaid dress (with up-do) is beautiful! Classic look. And the Barbie you like with the long blond hair-very nice. I was surprised that the Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy were so nice, their faces are adorable. I absolutely love Monster highs but can get onboard with the Sanderson sisters. They're witches! Have fun with that-make their outfits like the movie but with a little pop say in the shoe color and the accessories. Witch hats? Yes! And how about that "book" for one, a cauldron for another and a potion bottle for the dizzy blond. Give them brooms (or whatever they fly.) They cost a frigging mint-give us something here-make it "cute".

No matter what, I'm just glad Barbie is being unapologetically herself again 💖
3. JEM!!!!!! I've literally never consumed Jem and the Holograms media in my life, but even having seen her in the thumbnail I STILL got chills when you announced her. She's an Icon, a Legend. And I'm soooooo glad they're giving her some time to shine instead of letting her be forgotten. In this era of constantly revitalizing brands, it's good to see the older, more-out-of-the-public-consciousness brands getting some time to shine instead of stuff that's arguably still in their heydays. Way to go Jem!!!!
4. Eugh, those plastic Hocus Pocus accessories. Big, bulky, bland. Seriously, if you're going to expect that much money for a doll, at least give her proper accessories instead of that cheap crap. One of the biggest turn-offs a doll can have for me

I get why the bratz mean girls collab is limited but at the same time they’re alienating a lot of potential customers. I definitely would have brought one if I saw it at my local stores but if I have to go against other people and scalpers then I’m not gonna bother. Also seeing Barbie collab with a virtual influencer gives me hope one day we’ll get a Hatsune Miku doll, honestly I don’t even mind if it’s not Barbie I just really want more budget friendly vocaloid dolls. Dollfie and Pullip are beautiful but crazy expensive, I could see them collaborating with Rainbow High or bratz. The best case scenario for me would be just their own dolls but I doubt we’d get that for a long time.
I would die if Mattel did a Hatsune Miku Barbie.

None of these dolls are for me, but I'm glad they exist. The pink and white outfit the Millie is wearing just past 12 mins in and the Ariel in her purple dress are highlights for me, though I'm patiently waiting for more boy doll drops in general. 🕺🏾 Great video!

The reason it took a year after the Barbie Movie for Mattel to release all these Barbie core dolls is because it takes a year to develop and produce dolls and prior to the huge hype for Barbie with the movie, Mattel did not care at all about Barbie. They had no plans to do her right until they finally started paying attention to all the chatter from Barbie fans with the movie hype. They have so much merch coming out way later than the movie because they didn't expect the movie to do so well. They just wanted to put in the least amount of effort and quality and let the name sell their crappy products and it showed. Super glad some sense finally got knocked into them. They were letting other doll companies walk all over Barbie these last few years.
I love the style of the new deluxe Fashionistas, but the weird felt fabric was definitely not the choice I would make for her clothes. I did get the Gala doll though. She's absolutely gorgeous. I'm pretty interested in the Tribute to Fashion, but I'll wait for one I like more. Actually, I'm more interested in the BFMC, but so far the outfits haven't been a big enough draw to drop that kinda money. I'm hoping for pastels in the next one.
I think the Eartha Kitt doll is super cool and I really want Integrity Toys to make more big cats for their dolls. I want a snow leopard. While waiting for Mattel to release better looking dolls, I got into IT and now have started a little collection.
Mean Girls is far more iconic than the K family so I'm not sure why they don't just do the reverse and have the Kylie dolls in a limited amount and Mean Girls as a general release. Doesn't make sense to me.

Glad to see the 80s "girls toys" are getting their time in the sun after all the "boys toys" revivals like HeMan and GI Joe and stuff. The Rainbow Brite and Strawberry Shortcakes are so great, Jem is just the perfect addition.

I think this is the first time there isn't a doll in the lot that I would buy/have bought. The Jem doll is the one possibility from the group, because childhood nostalgia, but I want to see more of the doll first. She's got a Jerrica outfit with her, but it doesn't look like there's a way to change the makeup? I like the Mean GIrls/Bratz collab, but I'm not a Bratz girlie, and I've never seen Mean Girls, so they don't call to me the way they would if I were or had. I like Hocus Pocus, but not enough to buy a set of dolls, even if they're Monster High. I want more G3 playline dolls of characters that don't have dolls yet. I think the next few hinted at Skullectors will be passes for me - M3GAN, Us. I want to see the Beetlejuice dolls that are rumored before I make a decision on them (and see the new movie as well). I like the original Skullectors of Beetlejuice and Lydia - I think they captured the vibe perfectly. I'm surprised they're going for a repeat skullector at all when there are so many properties they could try to work with.

Mattel doing Barbiecore one year after is a direct effect of the positive reception of the aesthetic from the Barbie movie. It had to happen to enact change. Product design and going to market really does take a year. Mattel doesn’t take a lot of creative risks which is understandable. They were already taking a considerable amount with the movie.
True enough. It's just that the hype for the Barbie movie-- as well as the Barbiecore trend-- started well before the movie's release. We had plenty of brand collabs that were pink and sparkly and glamorous, but it was never reflected in the actual doll line until now despite clear public approval of the traditional Barbie aesthetic.
@@DarlingDollz I think they had to wait and see if the bigger risk (the movie) would pay off before they can scale up with the play line. Barbie Extra lived and died because the demand did not match the moment.

Honestly? I was thinking about Harley and Ivy back when I thought they would be upper end play lines I could get at a box store for more like 30 to 35 each. Price and online killed my enthusiasm. And I agree with the paint on the Sandersons, plus printed on bright fabric doesn't quite fit.
