Awakening is the 3DS game I sunk most hours into. Min-maxing for the fun of it and then some. I loved it so much. If they ever remake/port it post-Switch (I can't imagine during Switch) I'd totes get it again.
I do like the change for wyverns to be axe-based enemies; especially with how shaky the wyvernslayer sword was in earlier games having triangle disadvantage, and using terrain bonuses as a means of taking them down feels good. Plus it emphasises their differences to peg knights, while giving them a more solid disadvantage with their hit rates while still being physically threatening
sully being a bad mother for lucina is definitely overblown, and a lot of it is about galeforce specifically, but i think she isn't great either. lucina has cavalier already, so you'd need to early promote sully to pass down a relevant skill, but lucina can instantly second seal into a cavalier for the best one, discipline, anyway (since she doesn't need to go great lord when she already has aether). the upside of the pairing is that kjelle gets aether, rather than giving brady or inigo the much worse rightful king, but giving cynthia aether is also great.
