When my son was killed in Iraq, when my mom left this earth on her 82nd birthday, through all of my losses and pain, it's God's word and those who mourned with me, sharing scripture with me, that helped me walk through those valleys. It's sad to hear him saying this.

Well, it may be sad yes, but only for a moment. As a Born again believer you know your loved ones are with God, with Jesus. Humans aren’t reliable, they go up and down and all around. Keep your focus on the Lord and ‘let not your heart be troubled’. All this is nothing compared to what’s to come to those who are saved. Your loved ones are experiencing this indescribable joy right now.
Not sure what he's getting at. Doesn't like people using scripture to question his Christian walk and talk? That's what it sounds like. Just goes about it in a round about way. Praise the Lord Jesus actually did say it would be easy in the scripture. Matthew 11:30 and also said the reason for it being hard because of transgression. It’s hard because man is not trying to get with God and his word and trying to do it themselves. So Jesus laid the foundation and how it suppose To be done. In the same chapter the verse before the one you gave is Romans 7:18 Paul stated in my flesh dwell no good thing. Not once did he say it was hard. It’s only hard because of transgression and people are trying to say they serve Jesus and not have the Holy Ghost and think it’s a religion when it’s not its LIFE.

I used to feel as Kirk feels when I was an atheist. I hated anything to do with our Lord Jesus Christ, his word and his ways. Today I love him with all my heart and soul. I yearn for his word, no matter how many times I’ve heard it.

Nobody is trying to make Christianity pretty! We still have to go through the hurt and the pain of losing a love one or divorce. But it’s Gods word that brings peace and comfort.

When I lost my son’s dad at 3 months of pregnancy.. his dads family member consoled me by telling us of Gods Word and His love and forgiveness. I was in a dark and confused place and God found mercy on me by allowing me to hear from him. A few months later Jesus saved me… and it’s been well over 15yrs.. All glory to God..I am forever grateful 🙏🏾 I pray that Kirk really gets convicted because it’s sad for him

As a believer and resident of Florida who had two tornadoes come through his neighborhood and had neighbors homes ripped in half before the hurricane even showed, that had to first stay with neighbors during a hurricane some now have had to relocate, and others we are helping clean up the damage that many have lost everything, I can attest that NOW isn’t the time for me to walk them through a text of scripture….No it’s time for me to exercise what the scriptures teach. If someone is cold give them your jacket, if they are hungry feed them. The scriptures are not the problem obviously however there is indeed a time to teach them and a time to exercise them.
That is not Kirk's real problem his problem is he loves darkness rather than light. God gives us all wisdom. No, you don't have to teach scripture in a situation that may be hard but the best thing to do is be the scriptures in action. Show love and hospitality to your neighbors. The best sermon as we often say is one in action. Kirk does not want to take accountability for his actions and the things he do and are involved in. He knows the sins that are so easily besetting him in this hour. He chooses to live for the world, and he is angry with himself and does not want to be responsible for his own reckless actions in life. He is in a scary place. Prayer is needed for him. Satan has his thoughts and mind captive from the truth. When you rather blame the word for your troubles you know you are being fooled by Satan.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: I actually understand what Kirk Franklin is saying on a deep level! I just don’t think he said it the best way. It’s been MANY times where I’ve felt frustrated with some christians because they threw scripture at me. It WAS NOT scripture itself that bothered, but rather it felt like they were quickly trying to brush my problems off of them and not hurt WITH me. I feel A LOT of us Christians can be lazy and not want to bear other people’s burdens. I love the Lord, I love His word but it is frustrating when people throw scriptures at me and don’t want to bear my burdens which we are actually called to do for one another. I’ve met only a few Christians who will walk with me during those tough times while giving me scripture and encouragement and taking their time to get their hands dirty!

It is those that knows your story of what your going through. They are quick to maybe fire a scripture here and their and go on their way that's not sharing a person's burden as scripture says. Where when Job's friends came and sat with him and sat with him a few days. Then Job express his feelings to them. His friends response was not to share his burden with Job . Instead they started shooting all these different scriptures at him in their way trying to figure out and telling Job where he went wrong in life ,and how to get back right with God . Just being a outside critic.

It sounds like he is expressing that we as god’s children can have understanding & compassion & patience ,towards each other in challenging times and towards each other’s walk through life & god will work through us all .. Essentially god is the one who will have the glory in the end for helping that individual overcome whatever it is. Everyone is not in the same spot on their walk with god so how other people are connecting with god within their relationship with him may not predominantly be the same as ours, at times. And we should be considerate within our approach in supporting another. Ofc he is not saying forget the Bible , he probably is seeing arrogant, condemning , critical , prideful comments or gossip in response to his collaboration. Instead of an approach that has positive feedback and constructive suggestions & maybe a productive approach within the conversation to remind the youth & all of us to seek god first in life … no matter where you are on your walk . God is always present so this can really be the start of something positive. No matter how many people they reach with that song , god Is still working in all of our lives and will receive the glory from him transforming us. It sounds more productive to ask “ what is god doing here ?” Instead of automatically condemning them or assuming they are in “darkness”. Glo shared how God was the reason her first single went big .. & now that she made a song really expressing her just simply talking to him is not something negative. This could be the start of a positive influence on anybody just simply be reminded they can talk to god & truly seek him .. especially the youth . I realize now that Im older with a family, when I ask my Dad about an issue that is "serious" , the first question he always asks is, What did God tell you? I never had that when i was growing up. This just shows us that we all can change, grow and realize that God's work is never done and He will always have the correct answer. Just a though I had.

Wow!!! The people who are going through those hurricanes in Florida are feeling some real pain, and some of them may have a personal relationship with God, and some of them may not. Hopefully, those who do will turn to Him. But yet the ones feeling the same pain may not know God like we do and our compassion, love, and comfort should lead us to ask questions on how to help them and not just start attacking them with scripture. Been in Florida all my life. Went through several hurricanes. Helene and Milton were the worst. Gods word and prayers got me through. I don’t blame God for any of these storms. God has been so faithful in my life.

When my Mom passed it was the hardest time of my life. It’s had always been My Mon my sister I the three of us. She was not sick all of a sudden she had a stroke and went into the hospital and never came out. It was the word of God the rose up in my inner self and brought me comfort. It was the word of God that enabled me to be able to support my sister and son. It was the word of God that gave me to strength to make it. And since that time it has been the word of God that surpassed all understanding that brought me peace. We know this is no ordinary word it is life changing life building and life correcting. Don’t stop reading the word of God. Scripture says God Honors His word above his Name. Think about it you know the power thats in His Name.🙏🙏
He’s probably tired of the whole Gospel/Church world. It’s a lot of pressure for someone to maintain this holy position when really he’s just like everyone else except his gift is different. We all have ups and downs in our walk with Christ. The difference is people are not sharing and commentating on our every thought expressed to be judges and juried. There must be a lot of pressure to maintain his lifestyle so he has to work twice as hard or else he’s gonna be judged on vlogs saying he fell off and going broke. Then on top of that he has to deal with a million personalities behind the scenes in entertainment and business. People need to show compassion but then again the world nowadays we’ve all become judges for God. When the truth no matter what you say or think God is gonna love Kirk just the same and ain’t doin nothing with our thoughts. I know God will draw him closer and we’ll be judging someone else. Anything to avoid healing our own situations.

Even through the grief, I am now thriving because of the word of God. Each of those situations made me actively pursue him in a way I never had before. In the worst of it, there was a period of time when no one could reach me other than God, and he was right there in it, with me when I needed him. Even after I gave up and turned away from him he was right there. So when my friends and family let me know they're going through a hard time, I tell them to seek God because there are somethings only he can take you through. I give them scriptures and offer to listen to and pray with them. I encourage them to trust God and pursue him through reading his word and worship.
Every time I go thru something bad, I open my Bible, it is always a comfort😊

When I lost my son’s dad at 3 months of pregnancy.. his dads family member consoled me by telling us of Gods Word and His love and forgiveness. I was in a dark and confused place and God found mercy on me by allowing me to hear from him. A few months later Jesus saved me… and it’s been well over 15yrs.. All glory to God..I am forever grateful 🙏🏾 I pray that Kirk really gets convicted because it’s sad for him

As a believer and resident of Florida who had two tornadoes come through his neighborhood and had neighbors homes ripped in half before the hurricane even showed, that had to first stay with neighbors during a hurricane some now have had to relocate, and others we are helping clean up the damage that many have lost everything, I can attest that NOW isn’t the time for me to walk them through a text of scripture….No it’s time for me to exercise what the scriptures teach. If someone is cold give them your jacket, if they are hungry feed them. The scriptures are not the problem obviously however there is indeed a time to teach them and a time to exercise them.
That is not Kirk's real problem his problem is he loves darkness rather than light. God gives us all wisdom. No, you don't have to teach scripture in a situation that may be hard but the best thing to do is be the scriptures in action. Show love and hospitality to your neighbors. The best sermon as we often say is one in action. Kirk does not want to take accountability for his actions and the things he do and are involved in. He knows the sins that are so easily besetting him in this hour. He chooses to live for the world, and he is angry with himself and does not want to be responsible for his own reckless actions in life. He is in a scary place. Prayer is needed for him. Satan has his thoughts and mind captive from the truth. When you rather blame the word for your troubles you know you are being fooled by Satan.

I actually understand what Kirk Franklin is saying on a deep level! I just don’t think he said it the best way.
It’s been MANY times where I’ve felt frustrated with some christians because they threw scripture at me. It WAS NOT scripture itself that bothered, but rather it felt like they were quickly trying to brush my problems off of them and not hurt WITH me. I feel A LOT of us Christians can be lazy and not want to bear other people’s burdens. I love the Lord, I love His word but it is frustrating when people throw scriptures at me and don’t want to bear my burdens which we are actually called to do for one another.
I’ve met only a few Christians who will walk with me during those tough times while giving me scripture and encouragement and taking their time to get their hands dirty!

I've been going through a attack from the enemy for 3 years now. Those that I know one side of my family that have been church members for a very long time. I see it another way when these last 3 year and counting on this earth I have to bare and take up my cross alone. I read scriptures and the word of the Bible. It is those that knows your story of what your going through. They are quick to maybe fire a scripture here and their and go on their way that's not sharing a person's burden as scripture says.
Just before seeing your post it is two short sentence ones that I almost replied to. They were like they were from the book of Job. Where when Job's friends came and sat with him and sat with him a few days. Then Job express his feelings to them. His friends response was not to share his burden with Job . Instead they started shooting all these different scriptures at him in their way trying to figure out and telling Job where he went wrong in life ,and how to get back right with God . Just being a outside critic.

It sounds like he is expressing that we as god’s children can have understanding & compassion & patience ,towards each other in challenging times and towards each other’s walk through life & god will work through us all .. Essentially god is the one who will have the glory in the end for helping that individual overcome whatever it is. Everyone is not in the same spot on their walk with god so how other people are connecting with god within their relationship with him may not predominantly be the same as ours, at times. And we should be considerate within our approach in supporting another. Ofc he is not saying forget the Bible , he probably is seeing arrogant, condemning , critical , prideful comments or gossip in response to his collaboration. Instead of an approach that has positive feedback and constructive suggestions & maybe a productive approach within the conversation to remind the youth & all of us to seek god first in life … no matter where you are on your walk . God is always present so this can really be the start of something positive. No matter how many people they reach with that song , god Is still working in all of our lives and will receive the glory from him transforming us. It sounds more productive to ask “ what is god doing here ?” Instead of automatically condemning them or assuming they are in “darkness”. Glo shared how God was the reason her first single went big .. & now that she made a song really expressing her just simply talking to him is not something negative. This could be the start of a positive influence on anybody just simply be reminded they can talk to god & truly seek him .. especially the youth . We can’t be quick to assume someone personal relationship with god, & how he is using him as a vessel , nor limit gods plan. He has unfailing love for his children so he could be calling some of his lost sheep home !
I realize now that Im older with a family, when I ask my Dad about an issue that is "serious" , the first question he always asks is, What did God tell you? I never had that when i was growing up. I get what he’s trying to say. People think God can’t operate outside of every word and exactly how the Bible says it’s. If Peter did it this way and Paul did it that way, blah, blah, blah. When your in close fellowship with Holy Spirit you will get this. Supernatural doesn’t make sense sometimes. The Bible is not stereo instructions. The Holy Spirit will navigate you through it.
Wow!!! The people who are going through those hurricanes in Florida are feeling some real pain, and some of them may have a personal relationship with God, and some of them may not. Hopefully, those who do will turn to Him. But yet the ones feeling the same pain may not know God like we do and our compassion, love, and comfort should lead us to ask questions on how to help them and not just start attacking them with scripture. Only the love of God will draw a person to Him. 🙏🏾

Been in Florida all my life. Went through several hurricanes. Helene and Milton were the worst. Gods word and prayers got me through. I don’t blame God for any of these storms. God has been so faithful in my life.

When my Mom passed it was the hardest time of my life. It’s had always been My Mon my sister I the three of us. She was not sick all of a sudden she had a stroke and went into the hospital and never came out. It was the word of God the rose up in my inner self and brought me comfort. It was the word of God that enabled me to be able to support my sister and son. It was the word of God that gave me to strength to make it. And since that time it has been the word of God that surpassed all understanding that brought me peace. We know this is no ordinary word it is life changing life building and life correcting. Don’t stop reading the word of God. Scripture says God Honors His word above his Name. Think about it you know the power thats in His Name.🙏🙏
He’s probably tired of the whole Gospel/Church world. It’s a lot of pressure for someone to maintain this holy position when really he’s just like everyone else except his gift is different. We all have ups and downs in our walk with Christ. The difference is people are not sharing and commentating on our every thought expressed to be judges and juried. There must be a lot of pressure to maintain his lifestyle so he has to work twice as hard or else he’s gonna be judged on vlogs saying he fell off and going broke. Then on top of that he has to deal with a million personalities behind the scenes in entertainment and business. People need to show compassion but then again the world nowadays we’ve all become judges for God. When the truth no matter what you say or think God is gonna love Kirk just the same and ain’t doin nothing with our thoughts. I know God will draw him closer and we’ll be judging someone else. Anything to avoid healing our own situations.

I’m 24 and life after college has been difficult. It took me to a very very low place. A place where I didn’t even want to live anymore and who did I turn to? God. That’s FIRST for me.
Nobody can comfort us the way that God can. He is faithful and He is the God of all comfort.

I lost my niece, my mother in law and by best friend in the span of 4 years. The only thing that comforted me was worship and the word of God. Even through the grief, I am now thriving because of the word of God. Each of those situations made me actively pursue him in a way I never had before. In the worst of it, there was a period of time when no one could reach me other than God, and he was right there in it, with me when I needed him. Even after I gave up and turned away from him he was right there. So when my friends and family let me know they're going through a hard time, I tell them to seek God because there are somethings only he can take you through. I give them scriptures and offer to listen to and pray with them. I encourage them to trust God and pursue him through reading his word and worship.
