Picked mine up on the local classifieds for 200 bucks!! Absolutely LOVE the sound of the Shadow nanomag pickup sent to an acoustic amplifier. I sweeten the acoustic sound by using a Boss AC3 acoustic pedal. Sounds SO rich with the acoustic amp mixed with a dirty or distorted amp tone fed from the standard magnetic pickups. I use a Morley Twin Mix switching pedal to send the "two" guitars outputs to two separate amps. I can now accurately play all those rhythm parts of songs that have an acoustic guitar in addition to the overdriven electric guitar. I feel like I have another guitar player on acoustic playing along with me when ever I want. KILLER GUITAR setup!
@ChaosBurnsWithin No but you can use any AB line selector to achieve the same thing. The one he uses in the video costs about £130 but if you search our website for Boss AB-2 you can pick up a pedal from Boss to do the same thing for just £35
I played this in PMT (Professional Music Technology) and it was amazing, im going to buy this guitar in a few weeks, for about £549. I tested it out on a marshall stack, not sure about the head and cab names. But i played a few things from Guns and roses, Led zeppelin, AC/DC.. it just has an awesome sound and the acoustic is great.
Thanks man, I appreciate it, I like guitars that have a good low-end sound, I was looking at the Minarik Lotus, Paul from guitar world reviews on youtube and he liked it, yet I hear other people saying that they are over-rated and other's who have been playing for 35 years say they are good, maybe not gibson quality, but for a $700 guitar they are good, so thanks again man...
Thank You so much for such a thorough explanation i have one of these beast and truly was questioning the knobs and actions of the adjustments now I have a very clear understanding You Good Buddy at what you Do !
@ChaosBurnsWithin while stocks last and then no more! But We're only giving away the extra bundles with those sold before end of December. You get a Neutrik Jack Cable, Guitar Stand, and padded leather strap included in the £349
I really liked when you were running the acoustic nano mag with the bass turned up, that sounded fab!! I am betting that would be fabulous for playing cords.. Nice guitar, do they not have the version 3 out as well now with more features??
i actully have just brought this guitar , and the accoustic sound on the guitar are kickass , seariously they sound soooo nice lol i hardly play my accoustic guitar anymore now i have the epiphone ultra 2
great I really like the overall sound and look of this guitar. If I had the choice between a normal les paul and this I probably choose the les paul but if I were rich i'd buy it! btw Paul reviews are amazing!!! I love to listen to him play!
its cool to have a rhythm knob, cause when you turn it on you can play nothing but rhythm which is a neat feature if you know you cant play solos, by turning the knob to full in live situations, you wont even try playing solos and you wont dissapoint the crowd
i have this guitar and its the love of my life....beauttiful and clear sound on the acoustic ....unique ...with some distortion sounds like a phatcat....its a trouble when you want to install other pickups.....but everything is possible...with the seymour duncan hot rodded sound really Ultra...if you know what i mean...the perfect amp for this guitar is the Fender fm212 , for the two inputs to control all the pickups separately...THE COOLEST GUITAR EVER...EXPERIMENT THE VERSATILITY OF THE ULTRA!
hi. I've made a video response to this vid, and in it I use a very inexpensive amp. It's a Roland 408. I'm basically just compressed, and clean, doing some tele licks on the LP U2.
I can respect your opinion and in turn voice that I don't feel a bias to any guitar brand. I happen to have a Fender Strat because it happened to be what sounded and played the best to me and I agree that I have also played little kid guitars that play better than some high end Gibsons. It's all about what you like and no two exact models are exactly the same
get the silverburst if u want. i personally think the ultra is better with the nanomag (not to mention the finish, i have the same one as in this video). i suggest goin to a shop and playing the guitars, and see what you prefer. and what your budget is.
Mine is the same way. I love the clean tone, thats why I bought it. but distortion on mine is overly fuzzy/muddy. I'm thinking of rewiring it so the nano only works on the neck pickup and put a 498 or 500T in the bridge
@General1lol it's actually pretty easy, if you have it on stereo mode, with the selector switch you can bounce between electric and acoustic, if you have it on mono mode, you have to turn either the electric or the acoustic pickups off so you get the tone you want
Yes, the tuners and pick ups are different, in fact nearly all of the Gibson hardware is different. The primary difference is that an Epiphone body is made from mahogany whilst the Gibson uses a rare Honduran Mahogany. The hardware you can change to match a true Gibson; the wood is impossible to change:p
There's really a big difference, the single coil is similar in the sense of a crispier sound, but when you play a strat, for example, when you play chords the sound gets kinda "wawhy", and not as defined as an acustic guitar, when you can identify every single string.
The Ult. II would be great for the guitarist that wants an acoustic sound, but doesnt want to deal with the acoustic guitar. Awesome. Would be perfect for me.
This guitar, B.C. Rich makes a few, and Dean has a lot of great guitars. I know I'm recomending stuff lower than your price range but 1000-1500 isn't gonna get get you something that impressive. 500-1500 will. Good luck, I've helped as much as I can considering I don't know excactly what would suit you're needs (neck shape, string tension, body prefrence, etc.)
hey you dont have to use the accoustic sounds all you have to is put the jack into the right input and keeps the nano mag volume down , it is an awsome guitar i have it my self
i once owned an ltd and it was a very good guitar and the reason i bought it was because it wasnt advertised as the greatest guitar brand in the world(like gibson,epiphone,fender)...it played very well and i recommend people to buy them because they are truly good guitars not because " if you dont buy our guitars then you will play like shit and your kids will have 14 eyes" like other brands would advertise
I could REALLY use one of these. I play worship in church a lot, so it would be nice to be able to get both out of my electric. Not to mention, I've been looking for an a electric that's clean tones sound close to an acoustic....
what amp is he using? Im quite interested in this guitar as i play a mix of acoustic and electric songs and this would be great to eliminate the extra work setting up two guitars.
i have a Yamaha pacifica, (beginners guitar incase u dont know) and after 1 year its almost still perfect condition.... then again i do take care clean fretboard when i change strings...
hey guys, I know this is a very broad question, but I have about 1,000 to 1,500 dollars saved and I want a guitar where I can play music like coheed and cambria, but then play something slower, maybe with a nice clean setting, what guitar would you recomend? thanks
So the distortion that he used when he used both on the selector switch wasent really comming from the guitar?? Its from the amp right?? then he can put an extra punch to it with the nanomag gain. Am I right??
@Johnnnybgoode You're right. This would be a Rockin guitar for church while also being able to use it at other gigs. I'll admit it does sound a little confusing but after a few day I think it would be no problem.
hey there. im australian and in shops its $1,600 AUST (i got it for $1,100). the way i see, it. its the best epiphone les paul, i strongly recommend it if your interested.
@RobotFollower Nice... I was already trying to save up for a Gibson Les Paul. My friends told me, if I was going to get an epiphone, go for a gibson.. But it's way too much for my budget. By the way, Could you explain about the Fender Les Paul? I've seen a couple of em, lol...
for those how have this guitar... i bought one and things are not going well... mine buzzs too much! i went to a store and they made a setup to it. Still buzzing and they don't know what's going on. Did this ever happened to you? Do yours also buzz like hell??? thanks
@RustyBBQ Yeah, I probably wouldn't deal with the foot switching thing. I'm pretty quick with turning knobs, so I probably wouldn't have a problem switching it up manually. But yeah, it would be awesome to own one of these.
@branjasp If you bought online, you have a legal right to return the intem within 14 days-provided it is in the same condition as when you purchased. Its called the "Distance Selling Regulations"
Hi, I saw your comment on the "epiphone utlra 2" vid, and I would like to know ur opinion about this guitar, beacause i'm thinking of getting one... I would really apreciate ur answer sorry if my english is bad, I'm from paraguay cheers
Picked mine up on the local classifieds for 200 bucks!! Absolutely LOVE

add in separate delays to each signal chain to really enhance to "two player" effect
By far one of the best guitar reviews I've watched. Way to go, man!
RIP Les, you brought the worlds greatest guitar to us!
Very clear explanation of how the various controls work.
I play it now for a year and i love it more and more, great rock sound
@ChaosBurnsWithin No but you can use any AB line selector to achieve the same thing. The one he uses in the video costs about £130 but if you search our website for Boss AB-2 you can pick up a pedal from Boss to do the same thing for just £35
i LOVE this guitar!!! I just got it for christmas and it sounds amazing! : )

Really warm and crunchy. Interesting sound.
this guitar really looks great,,,great finish and great sound and great features
Thank You so much for such a thorough explanation i have one of these beast and truly was questioning the knobs and actions of the adjustments now I have a very clear understanding
You Good Buddy at what you Do !
yup. epiphone LP ultra 2 is going to be my next guitar. it's brilliant.
This guitar is now on sale at Andertons in the UK for only £349!!
got mine today and its sounds great. well worth the money
Just bought one of these so this is a really useful video. Cheers Paul.
That has a really sweet tone all around.
Excellent demonstration ! 🙏
@ChaosBurnsWithin while stocks last and then no more! But We're only giving away the extra bundles with those sold before end of December. You get a Neutrik Jack Cable, Guitar Stand, and padded leather strap included in the £349
These reviews are great man! I am in "Guitar-shopping mood" and he has helped me a lot.
You’ve got GAS, man: guitar acquisition syndrome😮❤
A bit sad to hear of Les Paul's passing but the Wizzard of Waukesha will live in forever!
@AndertonsMusic Thanks Andertons! I'll deffinately keep this in mind. How long does it stay on sale for?
@solidsnakec11
It's not edited, they just have a very hard noise gate on his voice mic.
@AndertonsMusic Deffinately sounds like something ill ask for. Thanks for the heads up guys! And merry christmas!
great I really like the overall sound and look of this guitar. If I had the choice between a normal les paul and this I probably choose the les paul but if I were rich i'd buy it! btw Paul reviews are amazing!!! I love to listen to him play!
@Amoneyxx Depends on what kind of music/guitar you are going to play later on if you stick with playing guitar.
its cool to have a rhythm knob, cause when you turn it on you can play nothing but rhythm which is a neat feature if you know you cant play solos, by turning the knob to full in live situations, you wont even try playing solos and you wont dissapoint the crowd

its a really useful review,,,now i know the sound of it
I really really love the color
Very good, very helpful demo.
i did a recent recording where i lined it out in mono (ultra 3) to a board via digitech gnx4 and the acoustic sound is incredible
hi.

I love the sound at 10:14 Amazing!
Would love one of these.

u can play Blur's 'ur so great' on this as the song has the same acoustic n electric guitar parts being played simultaneously
this is great for celtic metal!!!! I love this guitar!!!
get the silverburst if u want. i personally think the ultra is better with the nanomag (not to mention the finish, i have the same one as in this video). i suggest goin to a shop and playing the guitars, and see what you prefer. and what your budget is.
Paul should get his own signature Les Paul. The Les Paul Riario! \m/
i've got thoughts in buying this guitar, i wounder what you think? is it a good guitar?
What do you think can be the advantages/disadvantages to having an Epiphone Les Paul Ultra 2 instead of a regular Les Paul with a piezo bridge system?
Mine is the same way. I love the clean tone, thats why I bought it. but distortion on mine is overly fuzzy/muddy. I'm thinking of rewiring it so the nano only works on the neck pickup and put a 498 or 500T in the bridge
this is heavy Doc... You made a time machine out of a Les Paul!!!
@General1lol it's actually pretty easy, if you have it on stereo mode, with the selector switch you can bounce between electric and acoustic, if you have it on mono mode, you have to turn either the electric or the acoustic pickups off so you get the tone you want
@JEUXolim Here, too??? I guess we are both 3DD and Les Paul addicts, or am I wrong?.. Are you planning to buy this guitar?
lots of range in the tone of this guitar! sounds nice
which amp is he using in this vid? it sounds really great
Yes, the tuners and pick ups are different, in fact nearly all of the Gibson hardware is different. The primary difference is that an Epiphone body is made from mahogany whilst the Gibson uses a rare Honduran Mahogany. It sounds cool but what really sounds nice is the electric guitar tones this Epi is knocking out.
There's really a big difference, the single coil is similar in the sense of a crispier sound, but when you play a strat, for example, when you play chords the sound gets kinda "wawhy", and not as defined as an acustic guitar, when you can identify every single string.
my god its beautiful and it sounds great. I want 1
okay thank you ;)
christmas maybe i'll buy this great version of epiphone les paul :)
AWESOME
les paul all the way
The Ult. II would be great for the guitarist that wants an acoustic sound, but doesnt want to deal with the acoustic guitar. Awesome. Would be perfect for me.
@solidsnakec11 I think they've poorly-applied a noise gate to his voice. He also sounds like Vince Offer.
This guitar, B.C. Rich makes a few, and Dean has a lot of great guitars. i want this guitar so bad
those are some pretty nice guitars keep care of them!
hey you dont have to use the accoustic sounds all you have to is put the jack into the right input and keeps the nano mag volume down , it is an awsome guitar i have it my self

Really like playing mine a lot!!
Marty McFly?

i got one on saturday. beautiful!
hey there. im australian and in shops its $1,600 AUST (i got it for $1,100).
the way i see, it. its the best epiphone les paul, i strongly recommend it if your interested.
say if you were using a line 6 amp would you have to have it on a clean setting when using the acoustic pickup????
This guitar blew me away. The idea that an epiphone could be a good guitar just stunned me; but here it is.
should i get an epiphone or a totally cheap one like rockburn or Encore
Yeah people always assume epihpones are crap but everyepiphone I've played was perfectly fine
@AndertonsMusic does it come with the footswitch?
WillSkelton, the epiphone a/b box does come with the guitar. If it doesn't, get it elsewhere.
My question is what the Epiphone Les Paul LP100 Vintage Sunburst ENB-VSCH1 to produce a sound like the guitar in the video?
Hey how is this guitar for playing stuff like Hendrix, Zeppelin, Beatles, Kiss, Metallica, Weezer and jeff beck style tunes
that sounds amazing
Can you give me any Informations about the guitar Les Paul Ultra 2 ME because I would buy this E-Guitar!
Thank you
should i get mine in the faded cherry burst or in black?
in you guys opinion, this guitar or the schecter c1 plus, thanks
whats best from custom, standard, 100, studio and ultra?
for those how have this guitar... i bought one and things are not going well... mine buzzs too much! i went to a store and they made a setup to it. Still buzzing and they don't know what's going on. Did this ever happened to you? Do yours also buzz like hell???
thanks
does this thing include instructions?
what does blemished mean? ive been wanting to know
This is the ONLY over the counter guitar that lets you sound like LES PAUL the man.
It has an EQ so you should be able to adjust it. Also it's through an electric amp. Through an acoustic amp it would be deeper and warmer.
What is better, Gibson Epiphone neck pickup or Ibanez Inf4 Neck Pickup?
@RustyBBQ Yeah, I probably wouldn't deal with the foot switching thing. I'm pretty quick with turning knobs, so I probably wouldn't have a problem switching it up manually. But yeah, it would be awesome to own one of these.
@branjasp If you bought online, you have a legal right to return the intem within 14 days-provided it is in the same condition as when you purchased. Its called the "Distance Selling Regulations"
which one costs less, nanomag or piezo?
Hi, I saw your comment on the "epiphone utlra 2" vid, and I would like to know ur opinion about this guitar, beacause i'm thinking of getting one...
I would really apreciate ur answer
sorry if my english is bad, I'm from paraguay
cheers
@hikinguphigh yep, they are only good for scrapping up and replacing all the parts to basically end up just using the body
I have this guitar in black, you can only see the quilt top under heavy light.
I wonder which guitar paul uses.
What kind of amp are you using for that distortion sound?
