      Talk about driving up prices- ridiculous laws allowing the US to import RHD vehicles after a certain age. Those vehicles are now out of most peoples reach in the countries that have them and should be using them, legally and realistically. Low volume importing for collectors is fine, but now it’s 300+ million ‘Muricans instantly a JDM fanboi and Japan can see ya coming from a mile off and $$$$. At least we paved the way regarding Rotary development and the RB/Skyline GTR tuning scene. 🇦🇺 😂😂

    Thing about Rotaries is that they're like the AE86, you own one once, then you either own one for the rest of your life or regret ever having sold the one you owned and desperately try to acquire one again, and regardless of how much the companies try to recapture it they NEVER EVER EVER EVER get it right EVER again.

      @@JUDGExNOCTURNAL it's not that they don't get it anymore. It's a mix of regulation, their own lack of truly understanding it and then all of that just compounded by the lack of understanding within the enthusiast community too. It's what gave us the new 86. It's a good car, but in comparison to an ae86 it is a failure in understanding. What truly made the AE86 the legend it became wasn't a prebuilt aftermarket, nor just a good chassis, in fact even when it came out the AE86 chassis was far from state of the art. It wasn't a budget sports car, nor was it truly meant to be that. It was an affordable sporty trim for an econobox for families that just so happen to have decent driving characteristics. Racing teams and enthusiasts only really embraced it after its initial success in Japanese Motorsport. Those of us who owned one fell in love with them regardless of all of that for what the car was. The new one is pandering exclusively towards the enthusiast, forgetting that the original didn't need to do that to attain legendary status.

    • @Dominik189
      @Dominik189 2 года назад +1

      @@GTMaverick23 nah, that wasn't the issue. The issue was they struggled to meet exhaust regulations through use of the se tech as a conventional Otto engine. • @Rose_Butterfly98

      @@GTMaverick23 there are issues turbocharging it actually. I don't remember exactly but I know it's because the exhaust is a sideport, back pressure from the turbo causes even more problems than normal. Essentially gonna break your apex seals even faster.

    OK...phew... I was cocked and loaded expecting a hit job on this amazing car. I am glad you are not like some other channels that called the car a failure. I was a kid when the RX7 first hit the scene and it was... underwhelming. Compared to a 240Z or even a TR7, it was plain, small, and boring. It got a bit better when they introduced the turbo, but It remained visually boring up until the second gen, when it got a body worthy of such a car. That was when we, now teenagers started to lust after it. But it also grew in price and a once affordable sports car was now unaffordable to younger folks. Gen three made it even more difficult to buy as the price nearly doubled. So... lusting after it was all I could do. Now that I am in a position to buy such a car... there is nothing like it to buy.
    So... now I think about a GT-R. That would be cool to buy, and 2021s are still available new... buy hola not cheep.

    RX7s were priced to compete with Porsches, RX8s with Audi TTs, people leave that bit out whether they compare the two. You get get a lot of car for the money and they're more reliable than people think, with the proper mods and maintenance.

    Delete the oil injection system, put the oil in the fuel. That fuel should be E85 at 107 octane. E85 keep temps in check and affords knock protection at the same time.
    Stack on a couple of rotors extra and you have an engine that will last and make big power.
    See Rob Dom....

    The only problem they haven't solved on rotary engines yet is burning oil issue.....cooling issues and gas issues they have already solved with direct injection and three spark plugs.....the cooling has been solved already if they reverse the coolant jackets to up and down around each housing instead of going through......

    Great times. You no longer have to be a motor head, just a modern electrician. For ten thousand bucks you can buy a five hundred horsepower tesla motor. But, that's already antique electronic motor technology. For a few grand any electrician can easily build a thousand plus horsepower electric motor in the garage. Community colleges in California have already built fifteen thousand horsepower electric motors using a variety of designs, all the similar size of a conventional eight cylinder combustion engine.
    Exciting times.
    No need to forge a cylinder and block and injection system etc etc. A rudimentary square gross ugly block with wiring and cables is simple to build and lightweight. The power is in your hands.
    We grew up with turbos, nitrous oxide, etc. Now for a couple hundred bucks a reused hundred and fifty horsepower electric motor can be installed in-line for pennies.

    Aww my poor RX-8, such an underrated car. It really catches a lot of criticism, especially having debut after the FD. Slowly people are discovering them, turboing them, etc...and slowly their prices go up and up. At least in Japan, but I see the trend picking up in the US and the UK. The FD, however, still a head turner. Even for people who don't even like cars lol.
