Unfortunate that Stern's internal pre-release testing doesn't catch stuff like this, ruining the initial impression of folks playing the game and the launch tourneys, but good on them for "stealing" Kyle away from Marco. Fantastic video.
Always a well explained video, Kyle and team! I liked seeing the methodology of tuning in the entrance to the Danger Room. Also, good choice picking the synth background music from the game!
In this video, we are going to explain how you, the customer, have to fix your own game that you paid many thousands of dollars for and should have been done well before production.
Yeah no kidding!! Are they going to send me a refund for my time it is going to take to learn and perform all this maintenance on my LE? F ing ridiculous Stern
Glad to see an official hardware fix that addresses the ledge drop in the back playfield, this area IMHO was the key piece in straightening out the ball off the drop through and before the crossover. Can't wait to try it out. My current method of loosening the screw will take a backseat to this if it works as it should, even though I'm at 100% - always like to be factory first. Nice video and I like the fact that it was shown with a dialing in moment for the wireform into the danger room
Will new uncanny x-men machines being produced on the assembly line have this installation change already completed or will this still have to be competed on new purchased pins (example pins purchased NIB that are being finished on the line today or the next 6 months? Thank you for your time. I ask because its the one good part of getting the 2nd wave of machines produced from the line. My TMNT has no insider connected because i purchased early on before it later had stern inside connected coming installed standard. Great video
Any updates on how to get a kit shipped to existing owners? With the current spring, the ball can sometimes drain instantly and kill the momentum of a good game.
Why isn’t this something that is done with quality control before boxing up the machine to ship out to distributors? Why should customers pay so much to end up having to do something there manufacture should be able to do?
So, instead of Stern sending out techs to repair a Stern issue, they want owners to do it themselves. That's the same thing as saying if a new Ford F-150 has a faulty starter. Okay, we'll see you in your starter and a video of how to fix our problem that you bought yourself. Great PR
This is easily the greatest pinball video of all-time. Stern, this is not going to end well. If you're directing people to the lifting the playfield video, trouble is afoot. Outsider's suggestion, please have your owners/customers, reach out to their distributors to have a professional take care of the repair and have the distributor send you an invoice for the service. People are going to create new problem with their machines.
@QUITTERMAKER Not everyone has a bunch of tools to work on pinball machines. I can confirm one of my new in box purchases I spent more time working on it and no one offered to pay for my time repairing it.
If you don't have a screwdriver, you shouldn't own a pinball machine. X-Men came broken, which is unacceptable, but every game will require fixes and maintenance. You should not buy a pinball machine if you are going to be unwilling to do even the most basic of maintenance.
As someone that has done that more times that I care to admit I don't think that's what we're hearing here. That audio is from a different take of him pulling the playfield straight out and getting over the bump and lifting it up. There would be a lot more consecutive clunk sounds into the cabinet.
Kyle, you did a marvelous job on this video...its all CRYSTAL CLEAR!
Unfortunate that Stern's internal pre-release testing doesn't catch stuff like this, ruining the initial impression of folks playing the game and the launch tourneys, but good on them for "stealing" Kyle away from Marco. Fantastic video.
The state of the code likely ruined a lot more impressions than the plunge issues.
release fewer pinball machines with better finishes, having to tinker with a new pinball machine with your prices on top of that becomes ridiculous
As long as people keep buying this garbage they will continue to decline in quality and increase in price.
This is so easy! It's so easy you could just be installing them at the factory instead of shipping out nonfunctional games!!
Kyle is the man, thanks for all your help working through this issue, I'm excited to get the kit!
Congrats on Stern for owning up and addressing these issues, but these issues shouldn't have been issues at all with proper QA.
I kinda feel like were slowly approaching pinball dlc
Having to pay thousands of dollars extra for one extra mechanical Lane is already DLC

Awesome, cannot wait to get my impovement kit. Please also look into the left flipper hop, this should be fixed too imho.
Great video and shows that you have great customer support to handle any issues that pop up after a game ships.
Fantastic description and explanation of the details of how to make the correct adjustments! Great job Kyle!!

Great video. Clear and concise. Glad to see these issues being addressed.
Thanks for watching!
have these kits been shipped out to distributors?

Great video
Looking forward to getting my kit in. Thanks for the tutorial video.
Nice. Not too difficult. Thanks for the step by step.
Kyle... did you forget to take the balls out before lifting the playfield?😅 1:30
😂
Thank you! Can always count on stern to stand behind there products.
Any updates on how to get a kit shipped to existing owners? With the current spring, the ball can sometimes drain instantly and kill the momentum of a good game.
Has anybody addressed the gambit popper eating that wire ball guide in the shooter lane that leaves metal shavings on the pf?
Getting mine some time this week. So excited!! How do you go about getting this kit?
Contact the distro you got the machine from.
Why isn’t this something that is done with quality control before boxing up the machine to ship out to distributors? Why should customers pay so much to end up having to do something there manufacture should be able to do?
The worst offense is the left flipper ball hop, anything coming for those owners?
How do I go about getting one of these “improvement kits”?
Awesome, now on to the "timeloop" ramp so that it gets made much more consistantly please ❤
Great video. Not sure how this made it past qa/ playtesting
Does “Joe” come with the kit?!?! Somebody give that man a raise!
Where do you get the kit?
Have these shipped to Distros yet?
How does it even leave the factory without these at launch? Play testers are clearly not doing their job properly.
You forgot the most important step before starting any work on the machine. Turn it off!
How do we get a kit? Call Stern? Ask distributor?
Ask your distributor!
@sternpinball when will the new cornishop dungeons and dragons pinball arrive?
1/7
This kit should be made available for free for documented owners considering this was a design flaw.
So, instead of Stern sending out techs to repair a Stern issue, they want owners to do it themselves.

I blame Jack.
First time working on a pinball machine? Take the balls out before you lift the pf dummy 😂
This is easily the greatest pinball video of all-time.

People are going to create new problem with their machines.
What’s the cost of the kit?
If it's not free we've got a big problem.
We're shooting over the local area network now?😏
the games need better wifi hardware
Fact. You shouldn’t need to do this on a nib. Sad.
Yikes that’s a lot of troubleshooting
Well done to all those early buyers who paid to troubleshoot their own machines 🤦♂️
U guys keep this up and ur gonna go down like the big3 auto releasing fixes for stuff thats brand new....
So after spending THOUSANDS of dollars, I have to buy and install this kit to have a functional game? COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS
What if the customer doesn't own any tools ?
If you're buying a $10,000 pinball machine but can't afford tools then you've made some mistakes.
@QUITTERMAKER Not everyone has a bunch of tools to work on pinball machines. I can confirm one of my new in box purchases I spent more time working on it and no one offered to pay for my time repairing it.

Someone forgot to remove the balls before lifting the playfield lol *clunk clunk clunk*
As someone that has done that more times that I care to admit I don't think that's what we're hearing here. That audio is from a different take of him pulling the playfield straight out and getting over the bump and lifting it up. There would be a lot more consecutive clunk sounds into the cabinet.
@psychosin13 Maybe. But it is definitely a very similar sound to when I do that. And I definitely have done it many times
Stern Tech School? More like Stern Clown School
When you put lipstick on a pig it’s still a pig. This is one of the worst pinball designs ever.
Lol
This game is turning a corner now, its going to prove a lot of people wrong in 2025
