Living in America is next to impossible. I am honestly unable convince my parents to go to NYU. I put in 3 years and am finding it complete waste. Because parents won't be convinced. We are required to take education loan (when my parents are retiring), I promised them that it's gonna be me who ll repay after getting a job. But even work visa in USA is not guaranteed 😔😔😔

I have one question. Is chasing the "American dream" really worth it? I mean I get that US has more opportunities and stuff and India comes nowhere close. But spending hundreds of thousands of dollars for education and living in congested apartments when you could afford tier 1 colleges in India, does not seem worth it.
But the hardwork will pay off because if you have an American university degree then you can get job wherever you like in your particular field. So yeah it's worth it for employment opportunities

My IIT Delhi hostel room was smaller than this-- yet, at that young age, the quality of education was all that mattered.
Living in America is next to impossible. I am honestly unable convince my parents to go to NYU. I put in 3 years and am finding it complete waste. Because parents won't be convinced. We are required to take education loan (when my parents are retiring), I promised them that it's gonna be me who ll repay after getting a job. But even work visa in USA is not guaranteed 😔😔😔
unfortunately you chose the most expensive university in USA..make the most out of it atleast. Make contacts and keep GPA high job wont be a problem NYU is famous. If people from north dakota, minnesota and shit get a job why wont you?

I have one question. Is chasing the "American dream" really worth it? I mean I get that US has more opportunities and stuff and India comes nowhere close. But spending hundreds of thousands of dollars for education and living in congested apartments when you could afford tier 1 colleges in India, does not seem worth it.
But the hardwork will pay off because if you have an American university degree then you can get job wherever you like in your particular field. So yeah it's worth it for employment opportunities

In my field (physiotherapy) the pay in India is 25k to 45k per month. In USA, it is 1 lakh per month. Now decision is upto you.
