I am so happy to hear I am not the only one who hasn't been able to get into The Three Musketeers. It is just not my cup of tea, but I really liked The Count and I want to read The Man in the Iron Mask. You're not the only one who had thought Jules Verne was a Brit. I don't remember when I read the 80 days book, but that was when I found out. We can't be the only ones.
There are so many things that I keep looking up on The Great Bridge and it's taking me longer than I thought it would to finish because of that. LOL I want to find a book on Mr. Tweed. The corruption of NY apparently started from the very beginning.

      Thanks! You too!
Oh, I saw that you tagged me in a booktag video, btw. I'm very behind on videos, but I look forward to watching it. I always seem to find books that I forgot about on my shelves when I end up creating a booktag video after I'm tagged.

I want to read the man in the iron mask but I would like to. Maybe a different translation if there are any. I love you enthusiasm today. I have the Clara Barton and the Florence nightingale book also. Maybe a read along. I’m reading Napoleon by Andrew Roberts and George Washington by Ron chernow. I gave up on the bridge. I just was not interested. I made it to page 208 I think and dnf’d it.

I've been more concerned about translations of late, ever since I heard that a lot of Jules Verne's works have suffered from poor translations for *years*. I don't know if Dumas has suffered from the same fate, but it makes you think, doesn't it? Also, interestingly, I found out that the series of books that have to do with The Three Musketeers are called the D'Artagnan Romances. So there's that random bit of information for the day.
Ooh, a Clara Barton and a Florence Nightingale readalong would be fun. I've learned that I need to plan these things out, or they simply don't happen. I get distracted by the new shiny book otherwise.
I'm on page 248 for The Great Bridge and, while I might not have picked to read it if not for the readalong, I think that it is starting to heat up a little bit. I've been distracted by classics of late, though, so I need to re-direct back to The Great Bridge (although the next McCullough won't be started until January, so I have time). I look forward to our first McCullough biography, which will be in March, and which will be on Theodore Roosevelt.
