Love festool but they have way too many drill options. No one has any clue which one or even 2 they should buy.

You should have a mode to detect if the driver bit skips out of the head of the screw. Then it can stop before you strip the screw head out completely and really end up in trouble.

I like almost all festool stuff but not there drills, for drills and impact drivers I go to Milwaukee.

I agree 90%. I have an M18 from Milwaukee, a C18 and CXS from Festool. They're all fine, but the C18 not 3x better than the M18 (accounting for price).
But...the CXS is the drill I grab 90% of the time!

Ya agreed, except the cxs which is way better than the install driver from Milwaukee imo. I do want to try this drill out though

Milwaukee in the UK is Chinese made tat, its powerful but after a couple years the drills start to lose crazy amounts of power and become paperweights. I don't want any Chinese made crap

Have you guys tried the SURGE by Milwaukee, it’s hydrolic oil driver super quiet and smooth you can barely hear it.

I've had 2 and sent 2 back.... both gear selectors jammed up after literally 3-4 holes in masonry.... junk

My makita XPH14Z for $189 at home depot has over 1250 lbs max torque, whereas this only has 450? What the hell. Do you want affordable power or an expensive weak toy. I have to say I have been disappointed in Festool lately. They have great staple products (dust extractors, track saws, domino, sanders), but are not doing well in the drill/driver market. There is NO NEED for four gears. This is a marketing gimic. OOOhhhh look at that gear shifter - COOOL. No, there is no power compared to Makita or Milwaukee. Festool Fanboys probably don't do heavy duty projects anyways so go ahead and get it for over $1k after you buy all the expensive accessories.

This drill makes no sense as the torque is 75 NM. The ad depicts a segment on power which is nothing sort of risible. Makita's 40v XGT can go up to 140 NM. While I appreciate that this drill may not be directly competing with that, it's torque is almost half which is simply unacceptable. If the torque on this drill was 120 NM, I would probably buy it as I have Festool 5.2 AH batteries. However, a full size battery drill with 75 NM of torque is of no use and a waste of money. This one specification alone makes it a serious disappointment but add in the ridiculous price for so fundamentally underpowered a drill and I have to serious question Festool's Product Management department.
