    Poor Ivan and Bear... I cried when he led her down the stairs for the last time. She's a gorgeous dog, and they've had so many years together. What a hard decision... I'm glad she has a happy ending, but oh, how my heart breaks for her previous owner.

    People that are found mistreating animals, should have to do community hours under supervision at animal shelters and vets. This way they are trained to properly look after animals and exposed to the failures of people mistreating their dogs.

      I don't believe that this would help most of these neglectful and abusive owners. The same people who are neglectful, dismissive, and abusive to their pets, also are neglectful, dismissive, and abusive to their children and other family members. It is most often a matter of family upbringing, compassion, and values. I remember four decades ago, when I worked as a nurses's aide in a nursing home, before I went to nursing school and became an R.N.
      There was a former program set up by the local criminal justice system to make those with non violent criminal offenses serve some of their time doing community service,, working in nursing homes as orderlies. It was a nightmare. These individuals' language and profanity was atrocious around both elderly patients and staff. They had no work ethic and they tried ro get out of doing work. Most of the time the regular staff wound up cleaning up after them, and redoing what they did. You can't motivate individuals to work, to be responsible, to have empathy,, to care about other humans and animals, and to develop values, and personal accountability.
      This is either something that they are raised with from their youth, or something that they develop as adults, themselves, if they experience sudden miraculous insight in their life, which transforms them.

      Sounds like what I went through before I retired. Working with the younger generation that complained that "they were bored" while we older employees were doing their work that they didn't have a clue that needed to be done. The criminal mind has no empathy. They would only get more ticked off after their "duty" was done and lash out more. @@DeniseEggertwaterlily

    My heart goes out to Bear’s owner. So painful to HAVE to let your dog go because of circumstances beyond your control. Thought I was in that position 3 years ago when I was diagnosed with cancer, but I got lucky - so far and my dog is still with me.

    I love this show. I'm happy to see the happy endings for these dogs. I wish more Staffies would get adopted. We have the same problem in the states except bull terriers end up being the most prevalent to get put to sleep. If I could save them all I would and I think most animal lovers feel that way.

    Dogs are amazing. I had a beagle many years ago and we had relatives that came from overseas every summer for a visit. The beagle was really fond of my uncle and went nuts when he came for his summer visit. One year the dog wouldn’t have anything to do with him. Very unusual behaviour for the beagle. We couldn’t figure it out. She wouldn’t go near him. The next day he got a severe pain in his side and had to have an emergency operation to have his appendix out!
    When he got home from the hospital the beagle was back to normal and was happy to see him! We felt she detected his problem appendix.

    As much as I like having dogs helping with illness detection through their sense of smell, which is amazing, training one to detect blood sugar imbalances in a single person seems like a waste. There are cheap, affordable sensors that measure blood sugar every minute and alarm if high or low sugar is detected. Seems like the effort of training the dog would be better spent teaching them to recognize oncoming seizures or cancer, which they are extremely effective at doing and which can't be replaced by a medical device.

    • @GrimlyYours
      @GrimlyYours Год назад

      I just got to the blood sugar Bichon Frisé segment and I have to agree. I had a good friend who had to manually test her blood all day, before every meal, every snack, before they gave her this little machine that automated the whole process with little to no need for input from her. On _American_ health insurance, no less 😂
      Training a puppy to detect blood sugar, of all things... idk. In comparison to Malaria and seizures and cancers, Parkinson's, and all types of unbelievable things they can do...

    • @DeniseEggertwaterlily
      @DeniseEggertwaterlily Год назад

      @@GrimlyYours I was actually thinking, " Why aren't you checking your blood sugars several times a day as anyone who is a brittle diabetic does ? " The dog barked, so she tested her blood sugar and it was low. Couldn't she set an alarm and take her blood sugars often, without the intervention of a dog barking ? I then realized that this Bichon Frisé dog was very cute, and now I'm thinking that she actually needed this Bichon Frisé's company as an emotional support dog,

    Of course she's anxious she doesnt understand why daddy has given her away..... That its actually safer for her all she thinks is daddy doesnt love her anymore which is totally not the case.... He gave her away because he loves her and wants a better life for her in her final years. I do hope she is taken to visit her previous dad because it's just cruel if not
    Hehe Charlie's angels 😂❤ I think he should be given back to his owners because he wasn't abused and if they would be informed as to how to care for him he would be fine

    I suppose it would not be legal to remove a limb from the odious person who abandoned poor Chino, resulting in Chino having her leg amputated. Or failing that, I suppose it would not be possible to inject their leg with a big syringe of the vile pus from Chino’s lost leg. How can people be so uncaring & cruel to an animal that loved them?

    NOT a great idea to let a dog with no recall off leash. Not a good idea to let them off leash anyway unless they are in a fenced in area.

    • @jase123111
      @jase123111 Год назад

      Yes. Anything can happen. One of my dogs never leaves my side and is trusted on recall like 100 percent. It's amazing. However, once time we were walking and some let off really loud fireworks near us and my dog was so scared she ran out into the road. It was lucky she was not hurt. So, even the best trained dog can have accidents if off the lead in areas with dangers like roads, canals etc.
