    You did a very good job of explaining the app and so forth. And so far it has been working excellent.

    Thank you for the video. I have a question regarding the gateway connectivity, do I need to connect to WiFi or can I just rely on the cell modem?

    • @floridasolardesigngroup
      @floridasolardesigngroup  3 месяца назад

      You can rely on the cell modem alone, but I do not recommend it. You will only get 4 data updates every day (ever 6 hours) and after your free data plan expires after 5 years, you will be scrambling for a solution. You will need to buy another gateway or data plan, likely at a substantial cost.

    I have an enphase solar box installed with 33 panels on my house. The solar installer didnt give us access to this application. How can i set it up and gain access to it?

    • @floridasolardesigngroup

      @@redwings1037 Your best bet is to establish a relationship with another Enphase installer, preferably a more responsible and responsive one. You will want their assistance in the future. You have the option of registering as a self-installer and activating your monitoring account yourself (if it wasn't registered already). That will take a bit of knowledge that you might not have right now, but it is possible for a homeowner to do it. Check out the instructions here for becoming a self-installer: support.enphase.com/s/article/How-do-I-register-a-system-in-Enlighten
      Before you do that, you should call Enphase to find out if your installer set up an "Activation," which is what Enphase calls an account in the Enlighten app. They may have done so already. Alternatively, you can also find an installer in your area using the Enphase Installer Locator to complete the installation and commissioning. Reach out to Enphase support at (877) 797-4743.
      If the installer didn't set up an array map, indicating the location of each microinverter's serial number, you may experience a very expensive service call if you need to swap a microinverter in the future, because a service provider will not know where to locate it. Hopefully your system is activated already and the array map is in there. But it's pretty doubtful if they didn't provide you access.

    Next thing to do is to install small public/municipal power plants in residential areas to convert the excess solar power generated into hydrogen and use it backwards to generate electricity when not enough solar power is generated. This makes the grid voltage more stable, less ampere load through the grid cables, so thinner cables are needed, saving grid costs and fuel and less pollution.
    Spread the word, the government doesn't do anything because of the oil barons who only want to make more money by controlling the energy marked more and more.

    My app looks nothing like this. It just gives me Production and environment impact.
    I wish I could see how much my house is using vs how much solar I’m producing.

      Your solar installer would need to install consumption monitoring. This should always be done if physically possible. It greatly enhances the experience.

  • @efg1311
    @efg1311 5 месяцев назад

    In CA we have all-in-one electric panels where the utility meter socket and main distribution is in a single enclosure. At least 70% of the time, not 5%, it’s physically impossible to install a single set of the giant/bulky CT clamps Enphase provides for consumption monitoring. It’s actually pretty disappointing Enphase engineering hasn’t ever addressed this considering CA probably represents close to half of their total US market.

      Meter/Main combinations are common here as well. using multiple paralleled CTs can help in many situations. The new spring-style clamps that Enphase supplies often fit better in panels as well. These come with the IQ Combiner 5 and are compatible with previous generation IQ Combiners/Envoys/Gateways - whatever they are calling them these days!

    I believe they have changed the app so it does not show grid usage or comsumption any longer. Just looking for a video on app with changes

      I'm not sure exactly what you are asking about, but there have been no changes that I see. Maybe you don't have consumption monitoring installed or enabled. Or maybe your toggle switches are off.

      I do have consumption monitoring. It seems like they have updated. Ive written enphase to see whats going on.

    • @jasonszumlanski6514
      @jasonszumlanski6514 7 месяцев назад

      @@BlackWalnutFarm if you had consumption monitoring and it disappeared, it may be due to erroneous meter readings. That could be an installation error. However, I know that Enphase has been doing some automations to weed out bad data and they have mistakenly turned off consumption monitoring for some systems. My recommendation would be to call your installer, if you have a responsible and responsive one. If you don't, call Enphase. They are open 24/7.

    85.6 kwh produced. 106 kwh e ported? Makes no sense.

    • @floridasolardesigngroup
      @floridasolardesigngroup  2 месяца назад

      @@richardhajek8366 I didn't see that in the video, so I can only assume you are seeing that in your own app. The only way your export figure would exceed solar production is if you have batteries and your batteries are programmed to discharge to the grid. This is common where time of use metering exists. You can save money by exporting battery power when power is expensive and import utility power when it is cheap. Here in Florida batteries are only used for full backup purposes typically. If you have batteries, and you are using time of use settings, that is beyond the scope of this video.
