The fact that there's more excitement towards the actors than towards the franchise itself is a crystal clear sign of how bad things are. They're resorting to the same tactics with the MCU as they've been doing with Star Wars - drag old actors back in and hope that the cameos and references to better shows and better movies will distract the audience enough that they forget how shit the new stuff has become. The franchise is dead. Disney spent the past 8 years strangling it while blaming, insulting, belittling and attacking the fans as if they're entitled to our money. And now they hope jangling Robert Downey Jr. in front of us will make us forget close to a decade's worth of shit and insults because the franchise was better the last time he was around. No thanks. There is that one What if comic that plays into people knowing Tony Stark's face. Victor Von Doom steals body of Tony Stark leaving him stranded, amnesiac with a face of Victor. It might be attempt of recasting "Iron Man" as good Dr Doom.
If They Can Write Off The Whole Kang Story, They Should Be Able To Recast Dr Doom. Casting RDJ Was a Horrible Idea, Idk How They Thought It Was a Good & Better Idea Than Casting Somebody Else, Somebody New, Somebody With High Popularity, It’s Like They Voluntarily Sabotaged Themselves When It Was So Easy To Win. It’s Not Too Late For Them To Pivot, The Sooner, The Better.
Im going to hope that it is a Tony Stark variant, but he's defeated in doomsday, then we get a post credit scene introducing the real Victor Von Doom for Secret Wars and maybe Tony stark doom works for Victor von doom. But probably not
I’m still frustrated with this. Normally people would be excited for Doom and what actor has to bring to the character. But the fact that they have This very well-known actor who is very well-known in the MCU already just makes it feel so unoriginal. @@mattriddle7791 I was just referring to deadpool and wolverine creating the concept of anchor being in marvel. I would assume tony was the anchor being. They may try and make it someone else now like spider man or Loki but Iron man will always be the real anchor being of the mcu to me.
I saw the teaser, featuring RDJs voice inside the Doom armor. I think either Pepper Potts or Morgan Stark could have sounded more menacing. And, he's not playing Tony, he's playing Doom, in a world where Tony doesn't matter... His father, Howard, already created all the 'cool stuff'... so why are they bothering?

Now if they're going with the variant Stark idea for the multiverse theme then i guess it might work. Bottom Line: RDJr does not have the face of Victor Von Doom and he is too short for Doom's height at 6'2.

Also some things work better in comics than in film. Like I said in my video Batman was green lantern at a point in the comics but that isn’t the Version of Green lantern we would want to start with in the films.
