BUT if the phone dies, then you cannot make calls on your LTE watch. This is what happened to me with the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic LTE. The reason is that if I chose the same number for the watch as the phone, then the watch needs to connect to the phone first. The phone can be left at home and the watch will connect using LTE or wifi. If you chose another phone number for the watch, then the phone can die and still you will be able to use your watch to make calls. This is what T-Mobile explained to me.
Hi, i dont think that IS correct. I think having same number allows your phone to be synchronized to have same messages on watch and phone but you are still able to call from the watch even if your phone is switched off... The watch does not need to connect via LTE to your phone to make calls...it can do it directly
@@JoeGillian0 I mentioned that the phone should not be dead (no battery available). It can be switched off. I have experienced this issue many times and I got T-Mobile to confirm it. Again, if the watch is used with its different number, then the watch can be used even if there is no charge on the phone. But, in the case of the same number, the watch makes a connection with the phone first. Again, I had the LTE watch and I have experienced the issue I am mentioning. It is not a theory.
@@leaddog007007 Thank you for explaining. Ok i did not know that and understand better. What do you mean by Switch off, you mean that the phone is still able to be checked by the watch even powered off? You might ne right, i will try to check it myself with people from another forum that have the LTE version
@@JoeGillian0 Let me try to explain the problem I had in a different way... When I got my LTE watch and I signed up with T-Mobile, T-Mobile gave me a separate phone number for the watch that was different than the phone. In this situation, I did not need my phone to be working, to make calls using the watch. But others who got my call would be seeing a different phone number than my usual one. It would be as if I had 2 phones (one being an actual phone and the other being the watch). I told T-Mobile that having 2 numbers would be confusing. So could I have the watch be assigned the same number as my phone. T-Mobile said yes. Then I started using the watch. If someone rang my main number, I could answer the call using the phone or my watch (even when the phone was not close to the watch). One day, the battery on my phone went to 0. Therefore there was no charge on the phone. I thought "no problem... I will take my watch to work and use the watch for receiving and sending calls. There would be no need for the phone. Well, I kept my discharged phone at home and went to work. At work I realized that I just could not use the watch to either make calls or receive calls. I became frustrated and called up T-Mobile and asked them what the heck was going on. I had an LTE watch but could not get or make calls. They told me that as I had the same number on the watch as my phone, my watch had to first communicate with my phone before dialing our or receiving a call. The number actually belonged to the phone. My watch was simply piggy backing on it. When I reached home, I charged up the phone so that it had a non 0 battery. Then went away and could now make calls and receive calls with the watch. Had I used the new phone number assigned to my watch, there would not be a link between the watch and the phone and the watch could have been used even if an elephant had crushed my phone. I hope this lengthy explanation helps. This problem might not exist with another carrier. But I see the logic of it.
@@leaddog007007 Thank you for that thorough explanation. I believe you dont worry and i also think that could be carrier dependant That's why i asked the question on a French forum and iI live in Europe we have lot of carriers and the one i am in does not support esim for watches or at least same number... However i go confirmation from the forum that the Phone can be dead and you are still able to use the Watch on its own to make calls.
I still dohave a Gear S or Gear Solo in a drawer which has a physical paired with a Galaxy Note 3... So some of the issues you faced i am familliar with.
I had 2 différent sim (professional and personal with different phone numbers since i Did not want to pay for extra service of having a duplicate personal one for my Watch but i could set my phone to automaticall transfer call, messages to my Watch in Samsung settings but phone had to be on... And if replied from my Gear S i believe my 2nd number would appear which was confusing for people...
I also many rimes wanted to buy the LTE version of newer Galaxy watches but never wanted to pay another subscription especially since it does not support roaming and i have a limited use for it. '' '
I have a watch 4 classic so I think I will wait another year.
Have the s3 frontier LTE and what your carrier charges isn't usually to bad but the taxes every month is higher so you have to figure in that extra monthly charge
In many countries its for free
I still have a galaxy watch 4 44mm lte. I find it ok battery wise which does change depending on use of course, i have heard the watch 6 will be having the option to use the afib without the need to hold button and heard this will be rolled out to the older models over time, I hope this does come with an update and of course this would reduce battery life but we will see if it does actually happen.
I don't know the answer to your question, however I have another question for you being you have a 44 millimeter watch face. I am debating on the 43 vs the 47 millimeter size. Being you have a 44 millimeter was wondering your thoughts. I have a very small wrist....
@@ifeinsmith the 44 on my wrist is fine but I have large wrist so it is hard to advise you. You might be able to find an o2 shop then you could see 1 there to try
Sir i have galaxy 4 lte . Now I got galaxy 5pro
How can connect my new watch with esim can you please guide us it help many users
Thanks 😮
That's something you need to check with Samsung
I have galaxy watch 6 LTE and it gives Battery backup of only 10 hours once charged full.
And charging time from 0-100% is 3hours approx.
Worst experience from a smart watch.
If you have enabled gestures and google assistant, disable them, and select network mode to auto
Do LTE watch has Bluetooth?
Watch 4 44mm blue tooth is the best💟💟💟💟
I have the 5 40mm lte. I haven't bothered with be esim just bought it just in case I change my habits I think it was only £30 difference so was a no brainer
Congratulations
How about the Esim?
I prefer LTE version, because I can leave my phone at home.
LTE has had more storage also
I have always checked LTE HAS MANY ADVANTAGES
I own galaxy watch 4 40mm and I not going to upgrade to watch 6 foe sure.
You forgot to mention that LTE charge you monthly !! 😱 $$$ not
thank u for clearing this up😂
By watching this video I'm about to save myself a few dollars by getting the Bluetooth series, because my phone is always with me especially as a Truck Driver. It feels good to save 😂.
I have the galaxy watch 4 classic with lte and bluetooth
I always have my phone on me, so the lte version would be wasted on me. I bought the Samsung watch 6. I took it because I usually have my phone on silent most of my day so I can know is someone calls or sends a text. I can also use it if I go to the gym
I see no one is talking about Watch6 LTE overheating problem during calls, samsung has not addressed this problem!!
Nice video thanks
Wouldn't be "interesting" to have a tiny stylus for the watch, ala the ultra?
Can i track my non lte watch
You have to try the lte
on the watch
I'm a truck driver so I need a backup if my phone breaks, gets lost etc. So lte it is.
Perfect
the LTE smartwatch is my phone replacement meaning [standalone] i do not have a garbage smartphone {lead brick} anymore
Neither lol. I had the 4 classic, skipped the 5 pro waiting for this.
realised it's basically the 4 classic 2.0 with the same pathetic battery so I just got the 5 pro.
can't believe Samsung screwed up again bigtime!
not to mention they have the audacity to charge 5 pro price for the 6 classic wtf?!
Will WhatsApp work on blue tooth?
yes
Some time I leave my phone at home when I make a quick run to the store I don't miss a thing love well like the LTE I'm from the USA
I ordered the LTE as i ride horses and i keep dropping my Pixel Pro 7 out my pocket 😢
Simple, don't put it in your pocket.
Buy a fanny pack that also holds your water bottle.
@@raidersrideordieI actually did exactly that!! Water bottle attached to saddle with phone pouch!
this video is rubbish. He just use samsung video and talk for fun without device.
There are videos of different kind, this is an informational video not a product review u fool..
Only LTE for me
No one of these
You don’t even have the watch!
