I found this box on sale in a local Supermarket (UK) for under £15, and since my eldest daughter is interested to play with someone she knows, I thought it'd be worth a punt. I play Magic, and I gotta say this starter set is excellent. It'd be good with just the two intro decks, but having the third is a great reward for having learned how to play. The step-by-step guide is very similar to an old Magic one I had, and I picked up the rules very quickly. My two girls, 10 and 6, are having a little more trouble as this is the most complex board/card game they've tried to learn, but are keen to keep trying. I feel you probably should have read the content first, before doing the video. The review itself wasn't especially informative on the product, and you'd have known why the decks were the way they were. Actually playing the decks following the guide, then continuing the game after would have been great content. I'm curious to see if you actually followed through on that.
I have played the TCG in person! When it was first released back when I was 10 I entered a few tournaments at Toys R Us and got destroyed but still had fun. Totally different game today but I still enjoy it.
Can i ise the Pokémon Go battle decks with this board as well? I have this set for my daughter but thought itd be fun to get the Mewtwo vs Melmetal decks as well.
I play it sometime it's fun but this is the first time is see a good playingboard thank you for that, at home i have a weird piece of folded paper to play it on😭
of course! the decks included are pre-made so you get into the game with no problem, but once you're familiar with the game you can mix your cards or use other custom decks with the board:)
Sorry to leave a negative comment, but you didn’t at all answer the question in the title of your video... “Is it worth it”? You talked about the cards having stamps, which makes them exclusive, but not once did you mention the gameplay mechanics, or the build quality of the decks. You didn’t touch on weather all three decks are equal, or like last year two are basic, and one steps up the complexity of gameplay. You were surprised that the decks came with a V card, and even more so that each deck came with one. Either you don’t play the game, and legitimately have no idea, or you are just trying to promote a product for extra sales and are purposely leaving anything of playability value out if the conversation... Again, sorry for the negativity, but as a parent wondering if I should buy this for my kid, you said nothing other than nice packaging, stamps, and what another V card?!
Get this for your kid the decks aren't like league battle decks but they are very great for beginners it comes with V Evie V Piackichu and some other fire type I forgot but overall it's a pretty good deal
I think 100% if u never played the card game it is worth it but if u are an experienced Tcg player and try to use this deck to compete all ur Pokémon will get immediately knocked out and with new Pokémon violet cards coming In January I’d wait prob another one coming
I think last years edition of this with charizard, mewtwo, and pikachu decks are better than this years but still a great product to learn the game
Why? Asking cause my younger brothers getting it
@@artifice4723 Are you asking why it's a great product???
@@cardsofallsorts5967 why the current edituon is worse
@@artifice4723 idk the answer to that tbh I just think the decks aren’t as good probably I’d assume or it isn’t the Pokémon he likes
Same
My nephew and I just played it today. It is a fantastic way to learn the game. Pikachu and Cinderace were the tutorial decks.
In case someone is wondering what sort of value you get from this set there are like 7$ worth of higher value cards the rest is bulk.
Shocker. Buying boxes isn't worth it if you're looking for profit.
@@DirtyDan77 they are if you keep em sealed for 20+years and than sell em

The academy box with the charizard raichu and mewtwo was way better
are the pikachu, cinderace and eevee v cards promo cards?
yep
Honestly though this is a pretty neat product
I used to play back in 2002. My son that is 8 wants to learn and I got this for him. I hope the rules still the same 😅😅
I solely watched this because the Pikachu deck in my box had 2 Pikachu Vs in it 😂 I wasn’t sure if it was a mistake or not
Hi, great video, could you tell me the card size to sleeve them ?
All Pokémon cards are standard size
They are all standard sized. I would recommend dragonshield sleeves.
Where do you got this
I buy it for 1 month ago, for my kids. Is easy to learn how to play. Very good set 👍
I played TCG but never IRL.
It’s my bros birthday and I got it for his birthday so we are going to learn (any tips?)
can you play this with pokemon cards from packs?
you can if you want for fun but not for going through the tutorial.
they have point by point instructions to teach newcomers

But for collectors this is useless right ?!
I am not a collector but I am trying to learn about the trading card stuff
if it's sealed sure it's nice for a packaged product.
outside of that it'd be for the promos and marked cards
I played against my dad so fun
I already have it
if this game is awesome
