In an interview, Sheehy stated that gay people “will go to hell” and specifically targeted Ireland’s openly gay Deputy Prime Minister, Leo Varadkar. Sheehy claimed that Varadkar must “repent his sins and seek forgiveness.” The Church teaches only God can judge souls. Being gay is not a mortal sin. It would seem there is more here than "meets the eye".
All people are sinners. We must be, as Pope Benedict XVI said ‘intransigent with sin and indulgent with the sinner’ We all need to repent of our sins - not only those living an actively gay lifestyle. The story of the prodigal son shows us that no matter our sin we will be embraced by our loving father if we choose to be. Love is not love if it is forced. We must be free to reject God, but we must also (out of love) be told of the consequences of rejecting God, so that it really becomes a free choice. We cannot judge a persons soul - that is Gods business, but we can and must judge a persons actions. What parent doesn’t do that? What employer? What sports coach? What doctor? Of course we judge actions all the time - we judge that smoking is likely to cause cancer - are we free to smoke? Yes, but don’t we inform people of the consequences of that choice? Can you, dear reader, honestly say that you have never judged rape or incest or genocide to be wrong? The Church is our mother and teacher - she has to love us and teach us, like our earthly mothers do.
Not Irish here but find this interesting. Being gay may not be a sin, however gay sexual activity is a mortal sin and those folks should repent. The "more than meets the eye" is that this is typical left wing behavior at his church. The left wing gay marriage, abortion lovers in his parish have their conscience poked, get their feelings hurt, and whine to the bishop.in order to silence him. The cowardly bishop complies and silences the priest. The bishop doesn't even allow the priest to defend himself in public and he bears false witness against him on the radio. The root cause may be too many effeminate men in church leadership.
I fear for the priests and bishops like Bishop Brown because I am reminded of the Gospel of John where after the discourse of Jesus, his disciples, NOT unbelievers but his very disciples said, "This teaching is hard" and walked away! We must pray for our clergy daily! Thank you Katherine, Mark and Gavin- the benefits of your work are not only greatly appreciated but a source of strength and hope!
Not only a courageous priest, but singularly clear of mind, and filled with the Holy Spirit who has given him a wide-ranging experience and fluency of expression. May God continue to bless him. And may God draw the errant, cowardly Bishop back into the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Some Bishops may be afraid but most have either lost the faith or they are outright opposed to the Church of Jesus Christ because many Bishops are in Masonic Lodges which is the enemy of the Church. They want a Church according to the ways of Man not the ways of God. The Church was infiltrated many years ago (150) but accelerated with Vatican II.
When I heard of this situation at the time, I began praying nightly for the good priest involved and the repentance of the Bishop of Kerry. I'm so happy to be able to put a face and name to the man involved 😊
In our own Parish, last Sunday, with the reading from the Gospel on divorce, our Parish Priest apologised several times for having to present the teaching of the Church on divorce and remarriage. He said that he was more or less forced into a corner because of the clear teaching of Our Lord on the matter. I have never seen the Gospel presented in so hesitant and apologetic a manner - however, to do him credit, he did put forward the correct teaching of the Church on the matter.
God bless you Fr. Sheehan you are a true disciple of Jesus. My heart breaks for the church today afraid to speak truth. How many souls are at risk from this fear.I for one fear the judgement of God and pray for his mercy. I know I’m a sinner in need of forgiveness.❤❤❤🇨🇦
What a wonderful priest. Some of the best priests I've known preached regularly about sin (or "hanky panky") as one of them would always say. All of them emphasised the wonderful liberation in the sacrament of reconciliation. No doubt some old time priests went too far, frightening their parishioners with hellfire and turning the sacrament into an onerous duty, Nowadays we seem to have the opposite problem, too many priests and definitely too many bishops avoiding the topic altogether.
A perfect example of how insane our times are. His words would have been spoken by ANY priest when I was growing up, and much more harshly!! "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables". 2 Timothy 4:3-4
More poignantly, Mt 15.8-9: "'This people honours me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.'"
Is there anything more to make Browne "woke" other than the way Browne treated Fr. Sheehy? It would informative to know. Browne received a licentiate in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in 1993, was a judicial vicar in a regional marriage tribunal from 2002 to 2008, and, scarily, a diocesan designate for child protection and assistance to the elderly and sick in 2008. Browne was appointed to be bishop by Pope Francis in 2013.
Fr Sheehy - you are well down the path of becoming a Saint. The joy and compassion of Jesus Christ radiates from every word you say, your smile and beautiful laughter. God Bless you.
Well done good and faithful servant, Fr Sheehy. We need only concern ourselves with pleasing our Lord Jesus and speaking His Truth. Even a Court of Law requires a person to swear to God to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. 'Matthew 25: 23 His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant: because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.' The Truth, in Love 💕, is what we all need to hear: ✝️ 'Ephesians 4: 13 This will continue until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, and become mature, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. 14 Then we shall no longer be immature like infants, being carried by the waves and blown about by the winds of the false doctrines of deceitful people, who lead others into error by the tricks they invent. 15 Instead, speaking the Truth in Love, we may in all things grow up in Him who is the Head, that is, Christ.' ✝️
This story has reached Australia. Read the actual homily and see there was nothing wrong with it and only those who are doing wrong would object. He was very brave. Ireland has legalised the immoral and sinful. Calling this out is how Ireland will improve. When Ireland legalises what the Canaanites did...then Ireland is in big trouble!
Interesting, irish clerics seem to choose their path in life for other reasons than faith and conviction about Catholic doctrine. Our bishop in Sweden is much more clear and outspoken about what we believe as catholics, and so are the priests. Bishop cardinal Anders Arborelius manages to gain wide respect for countercultural positions in a very hostile post-christian society. Furthermore, the Catholic church in Sweden is rather poor and cannot offer any luxury to the priests and religious.
Wow!..the entire purpose of Jesus Christ coming to earth was, in His own words.."To call sinners to repentance."!!..I would love to see a showdown between this Bishop and.. let's say....St John the Baptist!👍..God Bless you all from Australia.🙏✝️🕊️🤱🩸🌹❤️.
It is no more possible to cover up the hostile takeover of the Catholic Church from within via her own Bishops. If Bp Strickland in the USA was first warned from the highest position not to preach the deposit of faith (???😮 -what else should a Bishop preach?), and then removed for preaching it, it means that such directive comes from the top of the Church, the top which wants to change the teachings of Lord Jesus. Thank you all for bringing up the matter. May the Lord bless us all and keep on the right way! Greetings from Croatia!
God bless you Fr. Sheehy for speaking the truth in Ireland. The Bishops of Ireland have lost their way. If they cannot preach the true faith they should leave their positions and stop living a false life..We hear in Australia that the churches in Ireland are nearly empty while here in Australia the Traditional Latin Masses are full., mostly with young people, especially young men.
Conversely, even secular culture demands that the truth be spoken in their realm of justice - a Court of Law, where a person is required to swear to GOD, to speak the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. What a shame that the Catholic Church does not adopt THIS principle from the secular culture that it seems so eager to please and appease. To the Pastors of the Catholic Church: Do your DUTY, and speak the Truth that is the Person of Jesus Christ, our Lord and God, the Head and Founder of the Catholic Church.
Thank God for priests like this who understand grace leads to repentance and that IS Jesus’s love that saves us from our sin! Heaven isn’t a sin filled lawless place where there is no King therefore no law and everyone does what is right in their own eyes. I cannot wait to be in a place where sin is no longer an option.
Those catholic who complained shouldn’t have been in a catholic mass if they couldn’t believe and follow the teachings of the church. Bishops should be teaching those people not caving to them.
It's nice to hear the gospel but even better to see it getting through to people, even if it means the ,,holy terror,, of the church. It's a divine comedy ❤. Thanks for preaching the gospel on utube at the re-,,treat,,😊
Father Sheehy is right - the USA (in particular, the “Bible Belt”) is quite different when it comes to the Church. In the United Kingdom and Ireland (and most of Western Europe) there has been a mass apostasy. For many of the younger generation, it is no longer a case of having been brought up as a Christian and then having rejected the Faith - many young people these days have no knowledge at all of Christianity. Some young people are searching for the Truth, of course, however, they are seeking it in New Age, Yoga or Pilates, Buddhism etc. We have several Catholic neighbours, however, they gave up going to Mass a long time ago. They never hear anything challenging from the Pulpit - only a few pious platitudes. Some people do join the Church or have continued to attend. What attracts them? Sadly, in so many cases, it is the large funds held by many Parishes these days, the proceeds of the sale of unwanted Church property. The greedy hear about these cash piles and are attracted by the wealth, hoping that they will be able to find some way of making it rub off on them! That may be rather cynical, however, I have seen evidence of this.
Literally thank God for Father Sheehy and the other few likeminded clergy , and therein lies the trouble with our once proud Catholic Church .Sadly the same here in Australia , and oh how our beloved Irish ancestors must be absolutely disgusted as they look down . Unfortunately things will only get worse until we get a genuine old school Pope , as the present one is purely there to drag the Church down . Keep up the good work Father , it is wonderful to listen to you .
It’s a shame and sad that the ideologies of the wokism are also in our Church, the Church that Jesus founded! So sad how divided and weak it is! Let’s pray for the unity of our Church, “what is impossible for men is possible for God”
I do not think Fr. Sheehy's reference to ideology was in reference to wokism in the Church but to the calls on RUclips for alignment with TLM and similar when the moral issue transcends preferences as those. One does not need to be a "trad" to respect traditional biblical morality. Unity will be derived from proximity to God.
Fr Sheehy is quite right. If people don't hear sexual morality taught from the pulpit they will get their morality from the surrounding culture. Priests who don't teach about sexual morality from the pulpit are allowing their flock to be led astray. But Gavin Ashenden highlights part of the problem: priests are afraid to preach about sexual morality because they fear a hostile reaction from some of their parishioners. Which makes it even more important to make sure that Catholic sexual morality is taught in Catholic schools.
A great Holy Priest, that’s what we need so much. It’s absolutely correct what Fr. Sheehy said in his homily. Unfortunately most of Our Bishops are not Faithful Catholics. Otherwise they would have supported Him. They deliberately ignore The instructions of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” Well done Fr. Sheehy for your heroic honesty holding to Gods Commandments. Viva Cristo Rey
The bishop was quick to throw Fr .Sheehy under the bus but never checked to find out if he survived the crash. What a great example of Christian Charity (or was it a displayof cowardice?) We need bishops like Father Sheehy in Ireland.
There wasn't even a bus. He raised a public scandal to damage Father and Holy Mother Church. Lol, but this isn't a criticism on your comments, only the fake bishop.
Ireland is in the stranglehold of Catholic Haters presently, they have a very strong lobby. Social media in Ireland was aflame with such Catholic hatred after the sermon that I thought that this was purposeful in shaking the wasps nest. I now see that Father wasn't aware of the strength of Catholic Hatred in Ireland. But he was 100% correct. The Priests and Bishops of Ireland should have spoken out in Father's defense just like they should have spoken out about church closures and lack of Sacraments especially the Last Rights. Catholics felt let down by the Clergy.
Imagine every young man descerning a vocation as a priest. I think the bishop has thrown those under the bus too. No man would want to serve under that man.
The Pope seems to have decided upon a war of attrition on behalf of the doctrine of what lies behind the outer facade of Progressivism, an ideology that does not dovetail with Christianity, though it piggybacks upon it, as have others, like Islam. It's strange that the re branded Synodal church is marginalizing Jesus, as if he isn't progressive enough for ,,modernity,,... as if ,,modernity,, will better encompass the marginalized, or perhaps it's so the marginalized will better encompass ,, modernity,, or, at least via synodality. will fit the punishment to the politically corrected crime. I don't believe this is the the path to peace, preached by Jesus. It's more like it's social justice- engineered blame shifting, as if the church wasn't already forgiving enough of its horrendous abuse scandals. The ,,last,, and most marginalized have been the victims of the sexual molesters, abusers and predators, and should remain the first, not silenced and discarded underneath the carpet of the Synodal, progressive d.e.i. inclusivity agenda, for the church to write off its debt, by instituting the confession of sins against Synodality which is to close the door to transparency, so the need will disappear altogether. That is their idea of transparency, i.e., erasing it and making it a sin, i.e., not to keep it erased, so to properly entitle so-called victims, those who are no longer the victimizers, apparently, but now have a status upgrade as the marginalized, who most deserve our empathy and forgiveness, or we are the bigger sinners, defying the order of the Church of Synodality, so it can be raised up from occurring the legitimate and honest wrath and, moreover, skepticism of any rational or compassionate human being that it justly deserves. I suppose if Priests hand the host to people, they. can't be so readily accused of their choking on it.
Well, this sounds like a wonderful sermon. Why on earth was he cancelled by the bishop? The bishop should resign forthwith! As a Protestant, I’m shocked this could happen in a Catholic Church.
nice to have other listerners from Germany on this youtube channel🙂, our situation is not much better in Germany, even worse I sometimes have the feeling.
@@royquick-s5n I don't think so, the protestant church is in a worse condition than the catholic one, although both are doing pretty bad. No evangelization and the protestant church went fully woke. Secularism as in most western european countries.
My love and devotion to Fr. Sheehy. I saw him last at Carmel Chauchi's 90th in Hinkley some years ago. Carmel is no longer in the best of health. I shall forward this link to him. Always in my prayers . Joe Costello
It's an extraordinary dereliction of duty for the local Ordinary to deprive Sheehy an opportunity to defend his homily or himself - ascertain the facts! - before chastising him publicly. The bishop has deprived Sheehy of his good name, his reputation; he acted contra-canonical law.
Not surprised at all a few walked out during the sermon, I wouldn't lay one iota of blame on them. The blame lies FULLY with the poor quality of Bishops, going back probably 40 / 50 years possibly more. The Church has been dishing out a lukewarm, watered down Catholicism since the 70s, and when parishioners actually the genuine thing (from this Priest for example) well of course it chokes the poor things and they have to get outside quickly for air. Poor Bishops, no backbone, no courage..... no Saints. Great Priest. Exactly the same here in France. Great for organising "apostolic visitations" though, very active on that score, apparently they have the FSSP in their sights 😩
@@hilaryjenkins5132 Hi, it's the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter, present in a good few cities here in France and the USA, and other countries. They use the "ancient" rite for the Liturgy (Pre - 70s Mass, in Latin) there is also the "Institute of Christ the King" a Priestly organisation something similar, I went to their Mass in Belfast a couple of years ago. The Priests belonging to these organisations have no problem whatsoever preaching like the good Fr Sheehy, just Catholic basically. I personally returned to the Tridentine Mass a few years back to avoid this kind of unpleasant incident, I mean the way Fr Sheehy was (mis)treated by his Bishop. Take care.
And that's where the systemic sexual abuse of children comes from- the top down. That's also why millions of people have left the church but not the Bible and not Jesus.
Catholic Priest preaches on Sin in a Sunday Sermon during Mass and is immediately shut down by the Local Parish. O Eirie, why have you called back the Snakes?
Even lapsed Catholics in Ireland were speaking up for Fr Sheehy's right to preach the full fat gospel rather than the diet version that the Bishops preach.
We all need to write to this Bishop and correct him for this error! The Truth hurts! Many Disciples walked away from Jesus because they couldn't deal with the Truth! The priest has taught correctly. What is going on with the Hierarchy?
"Woe to the shepherds of Israel who have been pasturing themselves! Should not shepherds, rather, pasture sheep? You have fed off their milk, worn their wool, and slaughtered the fatlings, but the sheep you have not pastured. You did not strengthen the weak nor heal the sick nor bind up the injured. You did not bring back the strayed nor seek the lost, but you lorded it over them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered for the lack of a shepherd, and became food for all the wild beasts. My sheep were scattered and wandered over all the mountains and high hills; my sheep were scattered over the whole earth, with no one to look after them or to search for them." Ezekiel 34:2-6

Well done good and faithful servant, Fr Sheehy. We need only concern ourselves with pleasing our Lord Jesus and speaking His Truth.
Even a Court of Law requires a person to swear to God to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
'Matthew 25:
23 His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant: because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.'
The Truth, in Love 💕, is what we all need to hear:
✝️ 'Ephesians 4:
13 This will continue until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, and become mature, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.
Irish Bishops are afraid. Not of God though.
Listen, accompany, dialogue, but NEVER say the "S" word. Looks like that's the new synodal church. for you. Good for Father Sheehy!
Synodal = use of quality circles, each of selected clergy, religious, laity, in topically restricted dialogue in place of a council of bishops.
Thank you for preaching the truth of the gospel. Don't give in, Jesus is pleased with you.
🎯💯
To the Pastors of the Catholic Church:
Do your DUTY, and speak the Truth that is the Person of Jesus Christ, our Lord and God, the Head and Founder of the Catholic Church.
May God bless you an keep u safe ,u will now be on our prayer list. from England
God bless Fr Sheehy.
Disagree Mark3ABE. I contend what draws more, if not most, people to church today is the love of God and their love for God, if not habit alone.
It wasn't until 25:49 that I understood that the bru-ha-ha was about a homily mentioning homosexuality.
Talk about touchy.🇺🇸✝️
Literally thank God for Father Sheehy and the other few likeminded clergy , and therein lies the trouble with our once proud Catholic Church .Sadly the same here in Australia , and oh how our beloved Irish ancestors must be absolutely disgusted as they look down . Unfortunately things will only get worse until we get a genuine old school Pope , as the present one is purely there to drag the Church down . Keep up the good work Father , it is wonderful to listen to you .
From Pope Francis' additions to the college of cardinals, what do you think the outcome is likely to be?
It's not that they don't want to offend anybody. It's that they don't want to be ACCUSED of offending anybody...
It was great to watch this through - what a fantastic priest Father Sean is, a true inspiration! God bless him!
Did you enjoy the coughing?
@@catholicunscripted honestly it was my favourite bit 😷
"do not let your hearts be troubled"
Surely, this alone is a proof of the entrapment of the bishop, turned to the service of the anti-Christ.
Good morning from the Shire.
Well, this sounds like a wonderful sermon. Why on earth was he cancelled by the bishop? The bishop should resign forthwith! As a Protestant, I’m shocked this could happen in a Catholic Church.
What a joyful wonderful priest.
From Perú 🇵🇪, Viva Cristo Rey ♥️
Good afternoon from Germany. This priest tells the truth and was punished. Seems familiar.
nice to have other listerners from Germany on this youtube channel🙂, our situation is not much better in Germany, even worse I sometimes have the feeling.
I suppose that may be carried back to Wittenberg in 1517? I am not complaining. 🙂
@@royquick-s5n I don't think so, the protestant church is in a worse condition than the catholic one, although both are doing pretty bad. No evangelization and the protestant church went fully woke. Secularism as in most western european countries.
Amen Father amen alleluia amen.
Thanks for sharing Fr Sheehy with us. Looking forward to listening to your talks through the links. God bless you all.🙏
God bless you
Not surprised at all a few walked out during the sermon, I wouldn't lay one iota of blame on them.
May I ask what FSSP stands for? Sad to hear France is also following this erroneous way....
Take care.
In recent times, as a prerequisite to being appointed a Bishop, it is necessary that you first have your backbone surgically removed! 🙏📿⚓️🇮🇪
Help! Come Lord Jesus!
I’m Roman Catholic but even Billy Graham during his revivals would ask people to repent of their sins.
The Bishop is following his orders from thoses at the top, they hide in the shadows and still worship Baal & Molch
Exactly right
And that's where the systemic
sexual abuse of children comes from- the top down.
That's also why millions of people have left the church but not the Bible and not Jesus.
Catholic Priest preaches on Sin in a Sunday Sermon during Mass and is immediately shut down by the Local Parish. O Eirie, why have you called back the Snakes?
Seems unfair to jellyfish to compare the bishop to them. God bless Fr. Sheehy.
Sounds like a new Bishop is required.
Even lapsed Catholics in Ireland were speaking up for Fr Sheehy's right to preach the full fat gospel rather than the diet version that the Bishops preach.
Our bishops are not wordy of the title. They are NOT Catholic anymore.
We all need to write to this Bishop and correct him for this error!
The Truth hurts! Many Disciples walked away from Jesus because they couldn't deal with the Truth!
The priest has taught correctly. What is going on with the Hierarchy?
Look at the messages of our Lady of Fatima,Akita and Garabandal and it'll be clear what is going on in our hierarchy.
Many of us did write/phone the bishop at the time, to support Father Sheehy.
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit AMEN ❤
@@seamusweber8298keep writing, let him know he will lead many sheep away with his Luke warm Catholicism.
sadly, this papacy wants us to apologize for our faith and statements of Truth!! sadly; i will not listen to this papacy!!! i will speak the truth.
"Woe to the shepherds of Israel
who have been pasturing themselves!
Should not shepherds, rather, pasture sheep?
You have fed off their milk, worn their wool,
and slaughtered the fatlings,
but the sheep you have not pastured.
You did not strengthen the weak nor heal the sick
nor bind up the injured.
You did not bring back the strayed nor seek the lost,
but you lorded it over them harshly and brutally.
So they were scattered for the lack of a shepherd,
and became food for all the wild beasts.
My sheep were scattered
and wandered over all the mountains and high hills;
my sheep were scattered over the whole earth,
with no one to look after them or to search for them." Ezekiel 34:2-6
