Second, the woman had a strong Manc accent - listen to any Mancunian talk and you'll immediately connect the dots.
Also, "Manchester House' (the linen store), was named that because it sells linen, which in Australia is also called 'manchester', due to the fact that all Australian linen was originally made in and imported from Manchester, England.

Just for your information. Coits is a game where little circular rope Donuts are thrown at a peg in the ground. We say that the little rope circles look like a butt hole. We refer to butt holes as "coits ". That's why Russell Coit is funny to Aussies.

Quoits: A game in which players toss rings at a stake, called the hob. A ring that encircles the hob scores two points for the thrower; a ring closer to the hob than an opponent’s scores one. The rings are usually made of iron and weigh about three pounds, but rope or rubber rings are also used. It has been said that the game was played in Roman-occupied Britain (1st-5th century), or it may have been developed in medieval Britain, perhaps when peasants heated and bent horseshoes into rings and tossed them at iron pegs driven into the ground.

Basically they were a bunch of Uni-graduates who got lucky on Australia's national broadcaster.

We lived in Outback WA in an abandoned miner’s cottage, and had to install a septic system. The ground was so hard it required gelignite to break through the rock. About a foot or so underground we discovered a fruitcake, wrapped in flimsy plastic. God only knows how it got there. Before we figured out how old it might have been, the dog found it and scarfed it. No damage to the dog.

As he drove the old car onto the trailer it pushed the rear of the trailer down which lifted the rear wheels of the 4wd off the ground. As the handbrake of the 4wd works on the rear wheels of the 4wd and the rear wheels were in the air, the empty 4wd, the trailer and the old car with my brother in law in it went flying off down the hill into his dam. Matey...diesel mechanic hurrrr, (look at me getn my merika on) 3ish mins in, battery talk you don't need an alternator recharging the system to jump start. It's like a lake (the battery) and a stream of water (the energy) supplying the dead battery with energy to kick the engine over and their alternator keeping the flow of energy going and replenishing the dead battery (the lake). There is so much more but that is an Aussies take on the simple version of explaining how energy works within that system of a vehicle...for rump stake I wrote a lot ay

Do NOT attach a snatch strap to your tow ball 🤦‍♂️
It’s possible for the snatch strap to become a slingshot and the tow ball the projectile. There have been many recorded deaths as a result.
Just a heads up vs heads off tip.

Russell Coight is yet another parody of an Aussie galah. Paul Hogan's "Leo Wanker" was another one, as well as "Strop" on the Paul Hogan Show. All ridiculous fools. We do know 'Working Dog Productions', they produced the quintessential Aussie films, 'The Castle' and 'The Dish' as well as many comedy tv shows.

It's not really something we all do, but a cousin of mine had got his explosives certificate and we decided to move an old dead tree. 13 kilos of nitropele (sic) and a stick of gelignite sent that 200' baby straight up well over 100' and showered us with kinda lethal fragments well over 250 yards away. You do learn a lot with experience, if you survive!

Reminds me of some 90's "acquaintances" who decided to strap some dynamite to a small wild pig for laughs. They all stood there holding their hunting dogs back from chasing after the pig, while the squealing piglet got strapped up with a suicide vest. The fuse was lit and the pig ran straight under a new 4WD.

My uncle was a farmer. He would blow lots of stuff up with ammonium nitrate, tree stumps, rabbit warrens, you name it,he blew it up. There was tonnes of ammonium nitrate in his machineryshed.....this was long before the Oklahoma City bombing. After that....not so much.
