Thank you Robert! Seems like every time I peel back another layer, I find yet another unpleasant surprise. I HOPE I'm getting towards the end of those now.
Hello! I'm currently chasing an electrical issue in my 89 on the power seat/power door lock circuit. I'm fairly certain I have a similar issue that you had here, but I can't get the stupid fuse block out. How did you pop it out of the dash, was there a trick to it? Thanks!
Hey Michael; getting that thing out will lead you to yell lots of bad words, and possibly to drinking. Some of the wires going to the back side of it were very tight, but I pulled them "just" hard enough to not pull them out.. On mine, the glove box and all plastic surrounds were removed. I'm going from memory here (dangerous at best), is the fuse block has two catch tabs, one on each side, that have to be popped out. I think I had to try to press the sides of the fuse block inwards to relieve pressure on the tabs, and it comes out towards the front. I'd go look at mine for you to be sure, but it's all papered and plastic'ed up for paint prep, and I can't get to the inside of it right now. In fact today I'm in the middle of sanding and body work. If you need a simplified explanation of what all that fuse goes to, take a look at Bravo School video. I apologize up front for lousy lighting and sound, but I think it should make that circuit more clear.
Glad you are fixing the wiring issues on this classic car Johnny bravo
