Great vídeo Will!, thank you very much, in my case i would like that Ableton LIve 12 had natively a setlist plugin for live performance purposes.
A little surprised to not see dynamic eq become part of the stock. Mind you it gives me a reason to use my fab filter plugin I suppose.

@fromstudiotostage ...good video thanx...since you are a video person...have you checked if there is a overworked latency compensation for the graphics engine or is it still off with some heavy vsts like restauration vsts....merci
2 Things I hope they improve: 1. Bounce in place. 2. Plugin Sandboxing. Or a better way to improve stability. Other than that. I really like what they did in this Version.
Yes exactly. Was looking into bitwig which looks incredible. Downloaded the trial and it won’t recognize headphones or my Mac speakers as a output device lol
Dang this video made me hyped about the "boring" stuff that everyone is complaining about. The similarity search, especially in drum rack, is actually really cool.
This browser experience looks nice.

YES! That's the thing.. so many small refinements that are actually really awesome
@@fromstudiotostageAs I think about it more, I think they really did this the right way. I've been critical of a lot of companies who keep giving updates with more flashy toys yet don't address fundamental aspects of their programs that need upgrading. Ableton actually did address the small things I've felt have been missing instead of only offering flashy new things.

Can anyone confirm - when dragging an individual song ALS into a set project in Live 12, it seems to me that the output routing channels and send levels from the tracks of the incoming ALS are not honored, and everything gets rerouted to Main and send levels are zero, requiring all those to be corrected again after importing.
Hey Will ! Is there any update in all those things Ableton users beg over the forums..... ?

-track protection (lock)
-Scenes browser
-Append audio regions or .also at any point in the timeline ( so you don't have to move them manually)
i love the ability to see arrangment AND session view --- I Prefer to mix in session view, something about it just makes sense in my heard, but perform, run tracks in arrangement view
yeah seeing the mixer in arrangement view, is super cool! Also don't sleep on the TAB momentary shortcut.. that's a game changer if you don't want to see the mixer in arrangement but want to quickly jump between views!
When you search within a folder saved in Places do you get shown the samples straight away or do you still need to drill down into the subfolders?

Interesting addition of key signature to Live 12. Users of your arrangement view performance template know to use tempo tracks to automate tempo changes across a whole set. Are these tempo tracks also able to automate key changes?
Just spotted it on another video of Live 12. In the clip properties, right below the clip time signature is now also the new setting for clip key signature.
Very nice video! If I only had a penny for everyone who's saying meh since there is no ARA support :)

Just getting in to using Ableton to do backing tracks for my band - I tried to use your template from a couple of years ago, but the formatting doesn’t work in 12? Everything is in 6/8 and I can’t get it to work properly? How do you make the cues/guide/click master tracks like in your template?

I have been running backing tracks for years now. Easy-peasy...
I've been at my current church for almost a year... I have helped them with getting the livestream from mono to stereo! Wow, and what a difference doing this can make ANY livestream!
However, when you run backing tracks you send the Click to one side and you send the Tracks to the other... so no matter if you run your whole livestream stereo or not, your tracks will be center mono... It tends to muddy our stereo mix... IS THERE A WAY to take the mono signal of the tracks and split it to make it stereo?
I want our tracks to be stereo as well...
Oh, and I run tracks through ableton!
I would love for us as leaders to figure out how to do this...
I'm thinking
Click > Left side
Tracks > right side > stereo split > 2 direct boxes > 2 channels on the board?
Does this sound right? Is there any easier way to do it?

that's possible already! You can automate via clips in Session View.
Can Ableton work on how their faders look… ?

you've always been able to cut, copy, paste audio clips.. what else are you hoping to do there?
@@fromstudiotostageBut you can't edit the audio in a clip like cut it copy small sections, reverse small segments, etc. You can only do that in arrangement view.
Bitwig can do this, which is what I think question is referring to.

They are playing catch up
there is a global key feature-nice little feature and tie into to MIDI effects.
