I really like Malaysia. Hung out in Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu during visa runs when I was living in Thailand. Did the Executive checkup at Prince George Hospital while I was there. Great country. Friendly people. Wish it was easier to stay longer. But 90 days in Malaysia is pretty good.
What I have learned is a lot of the cost of food in USA is tied to SHIPPING. 1500 miles is the average distance many foods in the US sometimes a lot further. Many other countries have literally no distance to send their food to market. That is why I can by a gourmet meal in Colombia for 8.00 to 11.00 USD (includes service and drinks).

Hello Dan and Qiang, thank you for your informative reports and videos. Can you please touch on the MM2H long term visa requirements and the ramifications that exist which make Malaysia an expensive option for long term retirement even though the cost of living is very affordable to live here.
You are my travel mentors. I land in Malaysia, next week! Thank you for your retire cheap reports, newsletter, ebook, and RUclips playlists-your content helped me develop into a graceful roamer💕

Malaysia MDAC on line arrivals allows you to use auto gate entry at KL, really easy for many countries now. Yes, 3 months maximum stay, its not a visa as you mentioned.

Well, there are the options for an Employment Pass or a so called RPT residency (10 years, Regional Pass Talent). Most people somehow do not realize these are very viable options as well.
Thanks for the report. Sounds like prices are still fairly reasonable. How did you find the air quality during your stay? I use the Air Visual app and the agricultural burns have started in the region

Yes, Malaysia offers various discounts for senior citizens, particularly for public transportation like the RapidKL bus, LRT, and Komuter train services, where individuals aged 60 and above can receive a 50% fare reduction; many restaurants, tourist attractions, and even some retail stores also provide senior discounts depending on the establishment.

I always see people commenting on "how much imflation have been hurting them" living in various SE Asian countries. Yet they forget to look at other areas of the world (western countries in particular) where inflation is through the roof. SE Asian is still very affordable when you do the comparison, but you have to be accustomed to the culture change and way of living in a foreign country. Everything has its pros and cons 😊, it's up to you to weigh those differences.
@VagabondAwake 100% and in some areas housing alone is up 40%. How do people expect the younger generations to afford that American Dream....they can't, only the younger "well off" can
@EGO0808 you are correct but this channel and guide is geared towards mostly foreigners looking to most abroad away from their costly living expenses. You guys must have to be very price conscious with your total food budget, which is the sum of restaurant, groceries and snacks.
