NIMA M If you watch from 0:40 this should hopefully explain it better than I can in the comments 😁 essentially if you pick one of the vertices it can then be split into triangles but as it is already connect to 2 other vertices it will only be able to make 2 less triangles than the amount of sides!

I am pretty sure for the tile question, you can just count the upper tile A's vertices and the lower tile A's vertices and you should get 12 vertices in total instead of doing the working out arithmetically😁😁😁
