The detail that is in this kit is awesome!! Them putting that detail in it show how much care they put into this product.
Just may paint it up like an 80's disco tech club.... lol! With LED lighting in the roof gap they so beautiful provided.
"Tech Noir" ala original Terminator film! XD
I love super detail terrain! And the reason the roof is two pieces, injection molding. If they tried to make it a single piece the injection process would create defects like warps, holes, dimples, etc.
You all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot my password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Pedro Ares instablaster =)
@Will Liam i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im trying it out now.
Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Will Liam it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass!
@Pedro Ares Glad I could help xD
I’m totally ok with the detail in this! I’ve grown to love the hobby part of Legion. If I had the money I would definitely get this, but there are just so many things coming out on one day!
Man that’s awesome! I had that bunker as a lego set when I was a kid!
I kind of wanted to see the whole thing assembled. Maybe do your initial review like you did here, then glue it off camera and show the finished thing a little bit at the end. I mean, you are going to glue it anyway. Or do a second video about that later and talk a little bit about the assembly.
I love the detail and functionality of this terrain. For me a great value.
This is an eventual pickup for me. Going to use it for RPG purposes.
You and me have very different priorities, sir. The quality of these things as models is the first and only reason I play Legion. If this was just soft plastic or cardboard, I'd have never even picked up this game. The model quality is what it's all about for some of us.
I agree! That being said, ALOT of legion players got into the fame dur to the minimalistic nature of their assembly and painting. I'll buy it just because it is more complext than their usual stuff!
I am super excited how Legion has been growing. I think I might make my own from scratch for this one. Would love to see your update once you have it painted. Good vid, thanks for the review.
will be interesting to see all the dioramas and amazing boards that will have this piece :)
I got to be honest.... I thought this was pretty cool until it got opened and we got to take a look at it. I’m probably going to pass. I can play the mission if I want because ffg spoiled all the cards so proxying is totally doable.
The interior detail is cool but it’s just too small to accomplish what I may want. Especially at that cost.
This is the first time crabbok’s review has dissuaded new from buying a product rather than encouraging me to do so
I understand. I was really expecting it to be at least 15% bigger inside.
I am also bummed out about it.
I was expecting it to be larger and have some more extra game play cards.
Still cool but not worth the high price., I was all set to buy this but now I think I’ll pass.
Thanks for doing the review, I agree it was a bit harsh to criticize the pieces not fitting and the extras, but I don’t believe that was your intention, you were simply stating things you thought about it.
And that is why I subscribe to your channel, I find you are pretty spot for me.
Keep up the good work and thanks again for doing the review.
You're a beast, all these unboxing videos on your lunch break, what a legend.
I've got to say, this seems a little underwhelming for $85 cad, especially since I already have the fantastic HDF bunker from Battle Kiwi. At first I was really hyped for this but now...not so sure. I think I'm just going to stick with the Darth Vader/Luke/Crashed Escape Pod expansions. Thanks for the review.
This would make a fun diorama project with how detailed the model is.
I will be picking this up eventually, as I really like the more narrative linked missions, but only so much hobby cash available. I do feel your critiques are perhaps a little missed placed, it is a high end kit, which does separate it from existing bunkers I have seen, so to put level of a detail as a negative when that is what you are paying for .... . As to the 2 part roof, probably to reduce material but also makes it easier for anyone putting in LEDs into it. Also saying it does fit another manufacturers kit as a criticism, i just don't understand how that is a negative on the kit. Not a kit for everyone certainly but I hope to see more - downed ships would be a great addition that would benefit from the accurate to scale touch.
You are clearly someone it is not for, and a 3d printed model would be a better fit for you. I have not found a 3d printed model to this standard. So it would either means materials and several hours labour or buying it, and I value my time more than the cost of this.
Kind of you to allow me to think what I want, shame you couldn't put the effort you have in typing 2 replies into reading and understanding my response.
I am not blind to the potential of 3d print but in this instance I will be choosing the ffg product as I don't want 'servicable' and it is preferable to me than crafting a detail replica.
Didn't want to go over your head old
Love terrain pieces. Love the detail.
i had orginally decided not to purchase one of these but I found a really good deal and now have 2 of them. I think that i am going to build one the way that the instructions say, but the other, i am going to try and modify with some lights and maybe some motor controls. once it is complete, i will will post it up. It may take a couple of months, but i will get it done.
Hmm would be cool if this came with a small squad for both rebels and empire
"....Do I need every individual keypad?" 🤣🤣🤣😀👍🏼
Interior details on the ceiling are probably for miniature photography, taking pictures through the open door. Seems a little excessive though, they could have probably brought the pricetag down a tad without such superfluous detail.
I will pick it up, but it's not a need it now piece. I'm glad they have that level of detail. I see this more of a diarama or display item
It will be a nice diorama piece.
The bunker does look good on the outside and it is cool that you can go on the inside. I just wish it was bigger!
I definitely understand people not being too amped about this release, but I'm definitely the exception to the rule here. I worked inside ammo bunkers back in the army and this absolutely reminds me of some good old times. At some point in the near future, I'm gonna pick this bad boy up with a couple storm trooper upgrades and be happy as a fella can be.
I actually like this highly detailed stuff. Usually first party terrain just captures the look of the universe best (for universe specific stuff like tech and buildings) whilst selfmade/third party stuff is great for things like natural terrain. Obviously that's by far not always the case.
I can't wait for the first indoors bunker battle report.
This is so cool now I just need to get legion.....
kyle Dove do it! Legion is awesome and I love painting the minis even though I barely get time to play
Tim Underbakke only issue is I don’t want to spend $150 dollars then assemble it then try and find someone to play.... I really want to do it but there’s so many things against it
@@furretthefuzzynoodle3896 Just buy one of the core sets, I got mine for 60€, which in dollar is still under 70$. You don't have to play full 800 points from the start. Of course you have to find a friend to play with, but if you already own the core set you have already 2 small armies, so just aks some friend to come over and play. Especially people who like strategy video games should be easy to draw into your game. And after your first game, if you liked it, you can slowly start to expand your armies.
Start small, if you buy 1000 things at the beginnig, you'd probably get frustrated anyway, because it will take a lot of time assembling and painting everything.
MiloS P. The biggest issue is finding someone to play against Madison has a lot of board gamers but not a lot of ones who play legion
MiloS P. Also I really like the clone troopers but only phase 2 so that would be more expensive but I’m perfectly fine with rebels
Imagine them back to back in the center of the table. Glorious Stormtroopers moving forward to bring peace and stability enter on one side. Rebel scum enter from the otherwise and the firefight ensues... I cant wait to do this... Also I can see the roof removed and set aside for units on top with units inside and measure from the unit to the edge and then the edge to the target.
Cool piece... but lets wait the next Black Friday 😰
Eh, kind of underwhelming for me. The tiny pieces for the terminals look like a pain to assemble and quite frankly the bunker is just another building. I mean does it look ok? yes. Are the special mission cards kinda cool? Yeah. Is it worth $75? Not by a long shot (for me at least). If an imperial bunker is what you're after, etsy has similar offerings for a heck of a lot cheaper. Sure you don't get the cards, but you can literally just watch this video and read them off of here for free so you really don't need them. Just my two cents.
On a side note, these little mini campaigns that come with these terrain packs give me hope for perhaps a full campaign release for legion one day (which I think would be awesome). Will have to make due with home brew stuff for now though lol.
I get 35% off due to working at a FLGS, was asked to guess the price before I knew when it arrived in as I've not paid attention to it.. I estimated £25 gbp.. boy was I wrong, could only laugh.
Should a thrown a couple of minis in there to give us an idea of scale? But I'm actually really excited about this. I dont know if that means I'm just a fanboy or what but as a new player that doesn't have any terrain aside from the 400 barricades, this will be a fantastic addition for me! Competitively the missions might not be great, but for playing fun games with me son in the garage they will be FANTASTIC!!! $80 Is a bit much but I definitely plan on getting at least 1 of these
I think you summed it up perfectly with "I don't think we needed that"
been looking forward to this expansion but after your review it doesnt look very good value for money
If you want those interior terrain pieces to work with the bunker, maybe try rotating them? So join the two extra pieces along the arch sides, and have the open sides connect to the back of the bunker. Looks like they'll be a small gap on the sides, but then you have the full doorway?
this looks like it will lead to a lot of fun
It looks much more like a model kit. The extra pcs are likely to allow for a rigid hollow part.
Absolutely love the insight your product reviews give. I'm definitely leaning towards getting a bunker terrain piece, but I think I'm going to go the battle kiwi route.
i enjoy all those details! guess they do it for people like me, but 80 is still a little high- 50-60 range seems right.
It’s quite a bit of plastic. Has more pets than I originally expected.
Yes! Big unboxing day!
I would love to see it together and painted.
Thank you for doing this! I’m about to start building my clone wars factions
I'm still going to pick up at least one. Will more than likely over time buy another one or two for a specific board I want to build and cannot wait to see community designs to build these into a tunnel network/building structure.
I am bummed that you sounded so negative against the details. I love it. Can't wait to get into it, but I come from the model building world so that's my perspective.
I do agree, for what is in the box.... $80 is just not right for a lot of the community and with nothing inside that compels new ideas for game play or armies, it's going to be an under performer and I don't want them to stop trying on the terrain ideas, because I would love to see more. And like you, I thought it would be just a bit larger on the inside, especially for people like me who are going to want to drop all the details in there.
Community bunkers would have happened regardless of when this was released. There are pretty much community versions of everything released out there just to have different looks and styles. If anything, I think this will help drive a little traffic to the community so they can now use the proxied cards in LGS or home games. Overall, I'm a meh on it. Love the detail. Not a fan of the price... I mean, my Bandai 1:72 B-wing Limited Editino was originally $50. Highly detailed, poseable, and lights.... I was hoping for more gameplay stuff with the Bunker. A new title for the Imp Officer? A weapon for the Rebels? Something more than what we get. Will still buy it, but it's low on the list of "To buy:" Especially with everything else just releasing.
I like it. It’s not going on the “buy it right now” list though. I’m still a bit irritated that Ewoks haven’t been released so we can now do a proper battle of Endor for goodness sakes!!!
I also accept the fact I’m in the minority for wanting Ewoks...lol
They should do themed battle packs, that come with units specific to certain conflicts and objectives to go with them. Ewoks would make endor awesome, but would be nothing short of goofy and immersion breaking to have them running around on tatooine.
I agree but I feel the same about snow troopers anywhere but Hoth (or other cold weather environment) as well, to me it’s just as goofy...lol
From a tournament perspective, I get why it doesn’t matter, thematically is where it would kinda fall apart, just my thoughts on it.
This is not in one piece, because you can install LEDs. This looks pretty cool and i can recommend it.
This bunker looks awesome!!!
seems its quite simple why its 2 pieces to cut down on the required amount of plastic, as making it a single piece that would require a lot more plastic than say 2 single thin pieces that go together to make it a single think roof as if it was one piece alot of the empty space would need to be solid plastic.
Even more, you can't really inject a single piece that large and that thick. It'd have to be two parts to make it hollow.
I'll probably get it on eBay cheaper than $70. As for terminals inside I'll use the ones that came in the pack with the vaporators
Love the video reviews! Keep up the good work
It's cool, but for 80$ it's way more than I would pay for a single terrain piece.. But thankfully the other terrain expansion is coming out, the one with the hostages and the Neimoidian!
The wife bought this for me as a surprise, knowing I'd never buy it for myself. What a great kit, hopelessly over designed with all the individual bits for the terminals and bolts on the roof, but a great kit. A great smaller than expected kit that it. Seriously though, I've seen a 3D printed version of the bunker, a few inches bigger, but no where near the level of detail or crispness. I'd say that this is FFG saying to us all, that we can print our own, but they can give us something with more bells and whistles. Question is, do we need all those and for that price too?
I think the prices inside the roof are to hold prices on the top of the roof. But I’m unsure
Maybe the top is in two separate pieces for future add on expansions. Instead of the roof there might be a second floor coming? It looks like a connector piece to me.
Looking forward to this one.
People complaining about an $80 terrain piece while my palms are sweating as my wallet burns a hole in my pocket from starting at GW's new releases page...
Thank You, needed to see this
Ill wait to see if it goes on sale
It would be nice to see the whole thing assembled and maybe even painted or after you've had a few battles with it then you could give more feedback and a better review
Would love to get this but have to build a droid army first
Not sure I care about the terrain piece since I only do CW but I really like the idea if the missions I hope they come out with a downed LAAT with missions like a rescue the crew or something that would be super awesome. Also saving for the AAT.
This looks cool, but I'd like a whole set rather than one offs, like the bunker with some trees / bushes.
A full marketplace with civilians.
Also this is very expensive but I hope FFG keep with the terrain as that has a massive impact on games (and how they look!).
I feel like they should have thrown in some storm troopers. Any links for bunkers that people have built? I'm new to the game and curious to see what people have done.
Looks cool
This is a tough value proposition for me. I would love to see it fully table ready with flocking and overgrown like the box art as the minute detail is markedly above even the best 3d printed terrain.
Agree, didn’t need the million pieces. On the fence whether to purchase still.
Bring on the Storming of the Shield Bunker Bat Rep!
i think I will just spend a quarter of the amount of money this costs on a 3d printed bunker. I am glad I canceled the pre order for this
It looks like a cool piece of terrain, but I doubt I would ever buy it for the price.
It looks nice. Not sure I'd drop 80 for it when I still have models to buy. But maybe after I get caught up on my current legion purchases.
"Nice...Nice...Not thrilling, but nice..."
Honest and brutal... appreciate your review sir. Danke'
Its bigger than I thought it would be, but still I'm not sure its worth $70. It doesn't seem like I would get much use out of the interior in regular games.
How did people get these so early? It says on MM that this stuff is still awaiting release :/
They got their prereleases from FFG.
Barnes and Noble decided not to care about the street date, so a lot of stuff is available there, unfortunately for LGS's.
looks good
I've never actually played Star Wars Legion by I might get into it eventually
I am a newish player to legion and as such I am buying a lot of stuff( yes even stuff thats not favored in the meta as I want them for the collection and to play campaign style games aswell oh and for rpg games to . This is a very nice looking piece of terrain ,very detailed but as a guy with a FDM printer and a resin printer , I fear this one is a pass ,I have already done a bunker ( not as detailed as this one ) SO in my situation there isnt the value in it ( but I am all over operative luke the crashed pod for R2D2 and C3po as I have already printed a pod that can be crashed or standing for use ,but got to have me some droid love.
Do you have any locals who also picking it up to show the double bunker?
Should've shown a mini inside.
Would have been happy with less detail if it meant a cheaper price tag
How many panels fit in it for a reasonable amount of space ?...looks really tight in there
"pretty thicc box" ~crabbok
hey-oh!
If I had money for this, I would get it but it's just too pricey for me rn. Thanks for the video!
I really wanted to see FFG make these kinds of terrain packs and scenario sets. I want to support it. But it’s just way too expensive.
I went for the crash pod but couldn’t see $80 for the bunker
I really am looking forward to it in battle reports do you think you'll be able to make it play out with the escape pod
That is a bit bigger than i thought
There's only two pieces on the ceiling, and they're in the doorway, visible from the outside. The rest are all on the exterior.
Save your money. Etsy has this for way cheaper
It seems like that's not worth it at the end. I'm still interested how we can paint it and try to put some Endor wildlife on the top of this bunker.
I want to see you connect some of those LV427 pieces to it.
Never mind
Would this be compatible with shatterpoint or is the scale going to be too far off?
I would use said gift card to fill out my army
My wife build an imperial bunker for me as Christmas present. So no need for this one anymore.
That is a very nice wife you have there. These are the best type of gifts IMHO.
Does seem like it's a little small but I look forward to details!
I just wanna get this to hide my rebels from an AT-ST
This kinda confuses me as a release for Legion. Some of the terrain pieces are neat, but the bunker is just a head scratcher.
The assembly on this haha. Must be asmodee thing just look at MCP and some of their minis recently :p
I would like this but not for $80. Alot of little pieces as well
