$20 US in 1960 was a lot of money. by 1965 every friday would have us carting back to the car from the supermarket about 6 paperbags of groceries in the trunk, 1 bag each in the footboot in the back seat and one each on the laps of 3 kids. These paper bags were the size of a medium sized microwave oven so they held quite a bit. Cans and heavies always fitted on the bottom; glass above that and the plastic bags items on top with the eggs so that nothing was eve on top of them or the bread.

The soundtrach of this movie could have "inspired" Monty Norman ins his James Bond"s theme.

Thank you for posting this, Tala, I really enjoyed it. I saw the ending years ago, did not know the title and could not find it. I've always like Basehart. Benton's narrations along with the incidental music brings "Danger Man" to mind. I wonder if there is a relationship to the series? Thank you again.

In the 1940’s The Colonel character would have been played by the magnificent Sidney Greenstreet

Obviously a B movie with a cheap budget with weak stuffy boring acting, whatever possessed Basehart to take the roll, as below him.

Terrible script. The guy goes up some backwater little stream right to Jimmy - how amazing none of the so called gunboats were around that prevented Jimmy going to HK by himself. Then a couple of Communist soldiers miraculously appear on the riverbank at the same moment. You know it wouldn’t cost any more production money to make the story a bit more believable. Not even ‘B-grade’

This is a 1960 film, not a modern rendition . Your grandpa (lolo) would have enjoyed it. Stop complaining.
