Music and lyrics by Volkor X.
'Gone' is a song that was supposed to appear on my latest album, 'The Loop'. It was initially written as a tribute to a friend I lost in an accident 20 years ago and was meant to close the album. He was a talented illustrator, and I know he would have loved to be part of the Volkor X journey in some way. I thought about him a lot while composing the album, and 'Gone' was meant to be an opportunity for me to add a star to my galaxy.
In February 2023, while I was finishing the album, a long-time friend ended his life. The month before, we talked about having a drink together to catch up as we hadn't seen each other for a while. We never had the chance. In June 2023, as I was slowly recovering, another friend I had known for 20 years also took his own life. It left me in a daze, as if nothing made sense anymore.
'Gone' has thus become an opportunity for me to add not just one, but three bright stars to my galaxy. However, I was just beginning to mourn these two souls, and the song suddenly took on a much heavier significance. I resigned myself to not including it on the album. I like listening to my albums, and this track would have made it difficult for me to listen to this one.
To absent friends...
This video was uploaded unlisted some months ago. It's not the final mix, but it's close enough.

There's something really special about being one of the few people to hear this. Simultaneously though, it makes me a little sad that so many people will have missed it. Fantastic work as always!
Worry not, it will be made public soon! Thanks for your kind words!!
Lyrics:
The world is spinning but I can't move on
I'm stuck in this moment where you're gone
I try to remember the times we had
But the memories are fading, I'm driven mad
I try to move on but I can't find the way
I'm stuck in this sorrow everyday
So many things we will not share
You will never know how much I care
I see you in the stars shining bright
I hear your voice in the breeze at night
I try to hold on to your last words
But they're whirling away in a blur
I hold you close, in my heart
You will always be a part
Of who I am, my friend
Until the very end
Never stop making music Volkor X!!!!!!!!!!! I beg you on my knees..
I'll give you the same answer as I just did to another comment: I honestly don't know what I would do with my life if I'd stop making music :) Thank you!
@@VolkorX my prayers have been heard😃
The loop is perfect as it is.
The fact that this track is separate makes it extra special.
The lyrics hit hard.
The music is epic as always.
This is one of you best tracks. I'm so sorry that it brings you so much pain. It brings me joy.
Wow!
'I try to hold on to your last words' broke me
This is the unspoken context that makes sense of The Loop
I am sorry for your loss. God Bless Volkor X.
Thank you 🙏
The massive sound of volkor x is unmatched
What a tribute. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you for listening to it.
Your testimony is so sad.
Lost a friend too recently, I can't imagine how hard it's for you.
Let's mourn together with your always captivating music.
I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for your words.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful song with us 🥹🫂
Please never stop making music. You guys are the best thing to happen to me since I discovered your band back in 2018. The Loop is one of the greatest albums I have heard in my life.
I honestly don't know what I would do with my life if I'd stop making music. Worry not, human! And thank you!
@@VolkorX Do you really make all this music yourself? It sounds like a full band I would love to see it live someday.
He does it alone
Against common misbelief, Overlords can feel sad from time to time. They blast stars to feel joyful again.
Thank you man. Always happy to find people jamming on my music!
My condolences, Volkor X. I love what you do so much, it saddens me to hear how much you have been going through behind the scenes. I truly wish a brighter future for you and the families of those that are now resting.
May their stars forever shine, illuminating even the darkest of worlds.
Thank you 🙏
Genius !!! A masterpiece !!!
oh man, this song is just so powerful... it makes me want to tear up in both sadness and joy whenever I hear it
Hail Volkor X
Terribly sorry for your loss. Take good care and be well.
Thank you Jimmy 🖤
Your sounds are so massive. I'm always impressed by your insane production.
I always will be a Fan of your Music. This Genre is helping me to relax, get calm when i was angry, when i got sad, when i felt fear. It helps a lot to think about many things and get a Smile back. Thank you!
A truly well thought out visual masterpiece, complete with storyline.
This happened right after my father passed. The absolute heaviest song I've ever heard
You will always be a part of who i am
Til the very end, my friend.
Continue the galactic conquest.
I'm sorry for your loss. Hope this song helps. Writing it definitely helped me. 🖤
Thank you for sharing this track. The soul in it comes through so strongly - It hurts, but it is also beautiful. ✨
Great Song! so thought provoking and meaningful! = AWESOME 👍
This song hits hard. Well done! It is obvious you had many emotions writing this piece and leaving it as a stand alone from the album gives the message the space it needs.
I'm so glad I found this. You have no idea how much I needed this song. Ever since I lost my friend years ago I've been searching for the song that can help me to grieve over his loss of life. Thank you for this song. Truly. You're an amazing artist.
Thank you for your words. Means the universe to me. And I'm sorry for your loss.
@@VolkorX Thank you for being an amazing and unique artist who brings positivity through their work. The world needs more of this, and less of whatever is happening right now. ♥
It has been rough these last few years. The song hits pretty close to home as I have lost both my grandparents within the last year, whom I’ve been as close to as my parents. Thank you for making the some of the most thought provoking, impactful music out there, friend!
I'm sorry for your loss. And thank you for your kind comment 🖤
Headphones are strapped ready for this one! Edit: Holy shit you did not disappoint😮
Amazing
This song and the tale that came with it truly brought a tear to my eye...
What a beautiful expression of feeling, I hope releasing this song brought you closer to some kind of closure~
It did, thank you.
best !
I'm sorry to hear about your friends. Hope you don't lose any more and that the ones that you did are in a better place
Thank you 🙏
I am truly sorry to hear that there is so much pain behind such a beautiful song…
My life changed with your music, your songs have pulled me through tough situations many times. I bought The Loop and listened to it in one sitting only to be left in awe and shivering from all the emotions that flowed through me.
I listen to your work everyday and could not live without it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
You may not come in peace, but you definitely brought mine!
Thank you for your words. Means a lot to know my music is helping people in any way. 🙏
Always , respect from Egypt ❤
Respect from space!
Great tribute ❤️🪐 epic song!! ✨🥺
May your friends find peace in the afterlife
Just lost my grandmother, and this song just hurts, yet helps at the same time.
I'm both sorry for your loss, and happy this song helped you a tiny bit.
@VolkorX your music never disappoints. Many thanks, and keep up the amazing work.
Sorry for your losses. This song is beautiful ❤
Thank you 🙏
You finding one of my videos is a big day for me. I'm grateful I can be here for one of your big days as well. Wonderful song. 🙏
Always happy to find people jamming on my music. Thank you!
Last fall I got married to the love of my life. A very dear friend of mine was there, and little did I know that would be the last time I saw him. Nearly a month after, he ended his own life.
Volkor X.. thank you for the music you write. It allows me to feel the anguish of my loss, similar to yours. The pain is haunting amongst the drowning thoughts of all of the "what if" questions that will never have answers. Sometimes pain is better than nothing.
For awhile I've been coping with The Loop, and then I wrote a snippet of my own song for my friend, made similar in your post-rock style, "Among The Stars"... but the length and power behind "Gone" really allows us to become immersed. Maybe one day I'll finish the song.. but for now, this is enough.
I'm sorry for your loss. The "what ifs" are perhaps the most painful part...
I was hesitant to release this song publicly, thinking that having written it was enough for me, and I could just listen to it or sing it in my head when I needed to. Now that I have released it and received so many comments and private messages, I'm happy I did. I hope you finish your song one day and that it helps you as much as it helped me.
Thank you for your kind words.
Спасибо!
I was watching with The Loop aø um video with my nephew, long after this video was made public. He noticed the QR code right away and said "Easter egg!" (We watched Ready Player One last night...). Iknew about this song, but it was fun to re-discover it with him. He might be a new fan.
Loving this, thanks for sharing and for passing on the galactic gospel to the younger generations!
@@VolkorX I beg the mighty Lord X for forgiveness for my typing errors, making my comment not worthy of His response. 🧎
Made me cry
I know words that come from the soul when I see some, so I checked the description box. I'm sorry for your losses and I think I kinda understand what you're going through because 6 month ago, I also thought about taking my life very much. I think I understand because what stoped me is the memory I knew I'd leave to my close ones and I didn't want them to go through all that. Again great work, as always. Keep it up and take care.
Thank you for your words. I hope you're doing better now. Never forget the world is a better place with you in it for the people who love you. Galactic hug. 🖤

Wow
What a coincidence to switch browser tabs while qr-code was flashing in quite long original album video!
Thank you for your fantastic music, always looking forward for more
i love it
Much love dude!!
Thank you 🙏
LORD VOLKOR X THANK U MY MASTER FOR THIS MASTERPIECE ALL HAIL KING❤❤
Beautiful
Sneaky you ;) Amazing piece right there !
You'll orbit them again, someday.
I can share a secret of the universe with you; the last time you see someone is never the last time you see someone... we're all in the loop. 🤔😉🖖
Hehe, lucky I was paying attention every time there was a cutscene. Sublime execution
sorry for your loss, i first listening it thinking it was about a lover separation, (that i more identify myself thesedays ) so i cried on the song but not for the same reason. May we find the strenght to continue
Thank you, hope you get better.
Another banger dude we'll done!
A nice surprise!
I had the album playing on YT and i caught the QR randomly while switching between tabs!!
🌌💥
Here I am !
Email me!!
Well this was a nice surprise.
Wait... what, is a QRcode that flashed on the screen ? more of Joss and Syd ? More about "that" life form ?
as described, it is not, but this part surprised me a lot. I don't know who it is Joss, Christophe and Mathieu, but I know now it's in your heart and they are very special people.
I finally found it!
Damn...I'm just 18 hours late...
Force à toi
Merci 👽💜
I feel like i have ascended
Ok, what's with the notification? I see comments from months ago 😂
The video was set to unlisted for some time, this song was a sort of "easter egg" hidden in a QR code on the "The Loop" full album YT video, near the end
@@unturned55Thanks for the info !
коли вже буде новий альбом?
No idea man. I haven't started working on it. The Loop is just 8 months, I need to recharge the batteries!
Live. Die. Repeat.
